Chapter 115 You're a Bit Humorous

Yun Nuan asked in confusion, "Huh?" Then, after a while, she spoke softly.

"You have a good sense of humor."

Qin Shu hated himself for his thoughtless words. Before he could even explain, Professor Wei behind him pushed him aside, glared at him, and said, "Look what you just said."

Then she stepped forward and saw the two holding hands. Yun Nuan had a smile on her face, and her dimples were faintly visible.

He paused for a moment and then said, "Young man, this is not the Civil Affairs Bureau."

The sound of "smack" came from Qin Shu, who was pushed aside. He slapped his forehead, and at that moment he suddenly understood why the two of them could become master and disciple. They had both gone crazy.

Yun Nuan also chuckled and said humorously, "Is this a stand-up comedy club? Both of these lines are pretty good."

The two people being teased were unable to answer her question.

Qin Shu was sent off to make tea. Professor Wei smiled and asked the two of them to sit down. There was still some awkwardness left from before, but Professor Wei quickly adjusted.

After asking Yun Nuan about her health and dormitory arrangements, his eyes kept darting between Yun Nuan and Qin Yan.

He recognized Qin Yan, the owner of the Qin Group. The person who had previously invested in S University was this same Qin Group owner. However, he noticed that Qin Yan's relationship with his student seemed unusual.

He hadn't said a word since his self-introduction, but half of his gaze was fixed on Yun Nuan, as if he couldn't see anyone else except her.

Professor Wei knew that he should focus on Yun Nuan today, but the man sitting there had an aura that he couldn't quite suppress.

He's clearly not suited to dealing with these businessmen; studying his antiques is much more fun for him.

"Yun Nuan, I've waited so long for you to come back to class. From now on, you and Xiao Qin will attend classes with me. We'll be the face and brains of our department. Xiao Qin is unreliable."

Those who are considered unreliable remained noncommittal upon hearing his words. Professor Wei was just like that, saying one thing and meaning another; he was used to it.

After serving tea to everyone, he finally had time to take a look at the person who was his senior sister. He really didn't expect that such a person existed, and she looked even younger than him.

Yun Nuan noticed someone was watching her, looked up and met Qin Shu's gaze. He awkwardly greeted her.

"Hello, senior sister. Feel free to tell me if you need anything in the future, after all, we have the same master."

If nothing unexpected happens, the two of them will see each other more often in the coming year. Professor Wei currently only has a few students to mentor, and the senior students above them have all been sent out for internships. It's a pity that there are only two of them in their department now, which means Professor Wei will have to deal with them.

Yun Nuan nodded, then turned back to meet Professor Wei's burning gaze. Her heart skipped a beat; his eyes looked just like those of someone looking at a piglet.

Qin Shu coughed softly, signaling Professor Wei to tone it down so as not to frighten anyone. Professor Wei smiled, looking at Yun Nuan with increasing satisfaction. Such an obedient child; she was clearly cut out for archaeology.

Then, turning to Qin Yan, she silently thought to herself, "Hmm, Mr. Qin is really lucky."

The way they held hands and exchanged glances made his understanding of their relationship all too clear, but Professor Wei was still worried about how much sincerity Qin Yan might have.

Merchants value profit above all else, and they can be quite callous; they're just afraid that Yun Nuan will be harmed.

Professor Wei talked for a long time until Qin Yan checked the time and realized it was already noon, and Yun Nuan must be hungry.

So he interrupted the conversation at the right time. If no one had stopped him, Qin Yan suspected that Professor Wei had no intention of letting Yun Nuan go. His eyes were dark, and a hint of possessiveness was showing in them.

"Oh dear, I've completely forgotten the time. Okay, let's call it a day for now and talk again after classes officially start tomorrow."

"Then I'll treat you to a meal; I'm very happy today!"

Qin Yan smiled and politely declined. He had other plans with Yun Nuan, so it was probably impossible to have dinner today. However, he set a time for the next meal so that it wouldn't seem like empty talk.

Yun Nuan nodded. Qin Yan must have his reasons for doing this, and she would just follow along.

Professor Wei felt regretful, but thinking that there would be plenty of time in the future, he smiled and saw the person out of the office.

Looking at the triumphant old man, Qin Shu thought that the other man must want to grab him for lunch today to share his experiences. But to his surprise, Professor Wei looked at him and spoke...

"Little Qin, your senior sister is here. If you don't take good care of her, I'll have to teach you a lesson. Alright, go eat. Your master's wife made me some soup. I originally wanted to share it with Yun Nuan, but in the end, I'll enjoy it all by myself."

After saying that, he waved his hand and left the office, leaving Qin Shu alone to process the information.

He used to get a share of this soup, so why isn't he getting any today? Is the old man still biased towards women?

Qin Yan took the people to the restaurant they had booked. After the meal, seeing that they were tired, he took them to an apartment near S University. The area was mostly old houses, which looked quite old, and some of the exterior walls of the houses were already peeling off.

The house he bought was brand new. On the other side of the old house, there were tall sycamore trees separating the two sides, and the walls were covered with patches of ivy, making it look like a lush green summer day.

Yun Nuan had already fallen asleep while sitting in the car. Her rest schedule was normal. When she was sick, everyone supervised her. Even after she recovered, except for the nights when Qin Yan forced her to stay up late, she strictly followed the schedule to rest.

One of them is taking a nap. If she doesn't take a nap, her heart won't be able to handle it, and she'll feel drowsy in the afternoon.

"Qin Yan, are you holding me?" Still half-asleep, she was lifted out of the car by Qin Yan, her face nuzzling affectionately against his as she mumbled.

"Go to sleep, we'll be home soon."

She only heard that she was home, and had no idea that she was in another place. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully.

He led the people into the new home with steady steps. If Yun Nuan woke up, she would find that the layout here was exactly the same as that of the Sandalwood Palace, except that it was a little smaller.

He put her on the bed, took off his shoes and coat, covered her with a blanket, then bent down and kissed her forehead. After looking at her for a while, he got up and left the room.

Qin Yan was working in the study when Assistant Wen brought news that the Lin family from Beijing intended to develop in S City, and the head of the Lin family was already on his way to S City.

Qin Yan frowned slightly. The Lin family of Shangjing was an old and established wealthy family that was involved in the steel manufacturing and real estate industries.

If the Lin family from Shangjing were to develop in S City, it would inevitably impact the local industries. However, if they could truly connect with the Lin family, their development would be smoother. The more direct benefit would be that with the Lin family as a network, their development in Shangjing would be even more unimpeded.

The Qin family wields considerable influence in S City and also holds significant sway in Beijing, as some of their businesses are located there and are currently managed by Qin's eldest uncle's son.
