Chapter 67 Hahaha, we've caught you!

She had a slight fever during the morning check-up. After repeating the previous check-up procedures, she couldn't help but vomit into the trash can next to her after the check-up and rest.

Qin Yan gently patted her back, then opened the cup and told her to rinse her mouth; she was about to spit out the bitter juice.

He wiped her mouth with a wet wipe, showing no sign of disgust, simply doing it silently. After finishing, he tenderly touched her pale cheek.

"It's nothing, it's probably just low blood sugar. We'll be able to go back and eat soon. If you're tired, lean on me and rest for a while."

Assistant Wen accompanied the two of them today, as Qin Yan was too busy to retrieve the report. So Assistant Wen went to get it, and also to hear what the doctor had to say.

The doctor looked at the test results, his brow furrowed deeply, and his tone was somewhat grave.

"Miss Yun's physical condition is similar to the last checkup results; none of the indicators have increased, as if she has entered a new phase."

But there are only two months left until the surgery. If we don't find a way to improve her test results soon, the risks will be very high. So Mr. Qin hopes to pay even closer attention.

Assistant Wen took the results back, and at the far end of the road, Yun Nuan nestled in his arms. Pale, fragile, and insignificant—these were the words that came to Assistant Wen's mind the first time he saw her, as if she would disappear from the world if he didn't care or know her.

But now that thread is tightly held by a man, and the cold and powerful ruler will bow his head and beg, his affectionate eyes will only look at one person from now on. But who can stop such a thing as life and death?

Assistant Wen didn't dare to look too closely, keeping his head down and fiddling with the report. After a while, he finally stepped towards the two of them and spoke in a seemingly casual manner.

"The doctor said the test results were even better than the last one, and I should go back and take good care of myself."

Qin Yan lowered his head and smiled, "Did you hear that? Nothing's wrong. Let's go home."

Behind them, Assistant Wen, with his hands behind his back, held the report and smiled when the two looked at him. When they returned home, Assistant Wen followed Qin Yan into the study.

Qin Yan's expression immediately turned cold. His eyes were devoid of emotion as he tapped his fingertips lightly on the table, looking at Assistant Wen.

"Tell me, is there a problem with the test report?"

He knew he couldn't hide it from his boss, so he obediently placed the report on the table and relayed what the doctor had said.

The room fell silent.

After a long while, Qin Yan finally spoke. He put the report away and clasped his hands tightly together.

"Arrange a trip to the lab."

Assistant Wen immediately made the arrangements. As Qin Yan stood up to leave, he turned back to look at Assistant Wen and gave him instructions.

"Don't tell Yun Nuan about the test results. Just say everything is fine, understand?"

After receiving his nod, Qin Yan finally felt relieved and left the house. His coldness disappeared and was replaced by a gentle smile. After watching Yun Nuan finish her medicine and lie down on the bed, he gave her some instructions and left.

He went all the way to the laboratory, where an experimental team had been established. He didn't want to give up as long as there was even the slightest chance.

Watching Qin Yan's car drive away, Yun Nuan got out of bed. She opened a drawer, inside which lay the letter she had written the night before. She didn't have the courage to face Qin Yan; writing letters was the only thing she was good at.

She placed the letter on Qin Yan's bedside table, packed some medicine, and left without any clothes. If she left like this in person, Aunt Lan would become suspicious, so she kept everything simple.

In the far corner of the wardrobe was a leather suitcase, her only possession.

With her ID documents all prepared, she looked at the milk candies. Qin Yan had prepared them in case she had low blood sugar, so she grabbed a handful and put them in her backpack.

Jiang Miao was already waiting for her outside, and her body temperature had returned to normal.

She put on a flattering smile and told Aunt Lan what was going on. Aunt Lan was a little worried, but she couldn't bear to look at her pleading eyes.

Perhaps because she had been meeting up with Jiang Miao quite a bit lately, Aunt Lan felt a little more at ease, and refused when asked to have Acheng come along.

She just mumbled that since the girls were going shopping, they didn't need Ah Cheng to come along. It was a little awkward, but Aunt Lan just let it go, seeing the girl's blushing face.

As she was leaving for the last time, Yun Nuan turned around and suddenly hugged Aunt Lan.

That motherly, gentle embrace—she hadn't received it since she fell ill—she said to Aunt Lan, fighting back tears.

"Aunt Lan, I'm going, don't worry."

Aunt Lan replied with a smile, "We always worry about our children when they go out. We're used to it. Go ahead and have fun."

After getting into the car, she looked back at the house one last time. She had lived there for so long that she had grown attached to it. Jiang Miao, standing beside her, couldn't bear it; her lips moved for a long time, but she couldn't utter a single word.

"Let's go," Yun Nuan said sullenly.

Aunt Lan looked back in confusion, wondering why the car had stayed for so long this time. She was wondering if she had left something behind when the car drove away in the next second.

Huaxi Village is located in the south, where the air is humid and the climate is pleasant. It is a picturesque and poetic landscape, as well as a place of winding and steep mountains. After parking their car at the airport, the two began to check their luggage through security.

Yun Nuan didn't want Jiang Miao to go to Huaxi Village with her. She wanted to complete the journey herself, and it was not her intention to burden others.

Jiang Miao understood her hesitation, so she put her arm around her shoulder and pretended to be angry before speaking.

"You're not going to kick me to the curb after I've helped you, are you? I've done so much for you, are you planning to abandon me and run away?"

Yun Nuan bit her lip, unsure of what to say. After thinking for a while, she finally spoke.

“Jiang Miao, you should go back. I can manage on my own. You’ve already helped me a lot. If you come with me, your family will worry, Lin Yu will worry, and your friends will worry.”

Jiang Miao's eyes immediately welled up with tears. She had been holding back all the way, but hearing Yun Nuan's words finally broke her silence, and she choked out her words.

"What about you? Aren't we worried about you going alone? You have President Qin to worry about, Aunt Lan, the bodyguards, me, Mingyue, and the friends you've played with. Why don't you include yourself in the list?"

I know you've always been worried about troubling me or others. But you can't stop us from wanting to do good for you; how can I let you go alone? You don't want President Qin to know, so I'll temporarily take his place.

"If you don't want me to come along, I'll call President Qin right now and have him come over. The choice is yours."

Jiang Miao was so angry with her that she made her choose: either she would accompany her today, or she would call President Qin right now.

Yun Nuan's face flushed red; Jiang Miao was directly giving her a choice.

After a while, she slowly and helplessly said, "I choose you."

Jiang Miao happily hugged her, and then felt happy looking at her flushed cheeks. The two quickly checked in their luggage, went through security, and waited to board the plane.

"Hahaha, we've caught you two!"
