Chapter 40. Wei Yin's words... not a single word...

Chapter 40. Wei Yin's words... not a single word...

Wei Yin's words didn't reach Lu Hun's ears. He just kept holding her close. Later, too many blows made Lu Hun feel like he had a lump in his throat. His eyes rolled back and he fainted.

Wei Yin had no idea what he had experienced in Old Master Wen's room that morning, and he was terrified.

I called him for a long time but he didn't wake up.

A maid came in and helped her to a short couch in the outer room.

The others turned pale with fright and hurriedly called for a doctor, while some went to inform Granny Wang and the others.

Wei Yin was afraid that he would be harmed by the smoke, so he had the brazier and other items removed and the windows opened to let in some fresh air.

Lu Hun remained lying motionless.

The commotion startled the Wenzhu and Wenqin sisters, who were terrified to see Lu Hun lying unconscious on the couch. "What happened to our eldest brother?" they cried.

Wei Yin dared not say that he might have frightened him like this.

Wenzhu, with her sharp eyes, immediately noticed that Lu Hun was unconscious, with one hand still tightly gripping Wei Yin.

She knew something was amiss, but dared not say it aloud.

Without making a sound, he took a felt blanket from the room and covered Lu Hun with it, also covering their clasped hands.

Wenqin still didn't understand, and instead frowned and said, "Third sister, why are you covering yourself up so tightly? Eldest brother can't breathe properly."

The doctor arrived; it was the doctor who had given birth to Green Lotus's child last time.

When Grandpa Wen later found out about the doctor barging into Green Lotus's delivery room, he was furious. However, seeing that Green Lotus was his teacher's daughter and could not be harmed, and that Green Lotus had indeed given birth to a healthy baby boy, he restrained himself from punishing his grandson.

When Wenzhu and Wenqin saw the doctor arrive, they pulled Wei Yin to the back.

Wei Yin was held by Lu Hun's hand and couldn't let go, but she didn't mind the doctor, so she stayed.

Wenzhu and Wenqin felt that ever since the night Lühe gave birth, their cousin Jinnian seemed to have become a different person, unusually bold.

However, since Jin Nian's cousin wasn't surnamed Wen, Old Master Wen couldn't punish her arbitrarily.

So I just left it at that.

The doctor took his pulse and said there was nothing wrong with him, just a temporary fainting due to qi deficiency. He was given some medicine and slowly woke up.

Wei Yin was relieved upon hearing this.

Wen Zhu and Wen Qin personally led the people to prepare the medicine.

The spirits here are different; they can eat and drink like normal people and are not afraid of the sunlight.

After taking a bowl of medicine, Lu Hun finally stirred. He opened his eyes and didn't notice Wei Yin at first glance. His face instantly tightened, which startled Wen Zhu, who immediately pointed and said, "Big brother, Cousin Jin Nian is here. Look."

Wei Yin squeezed his hand with a little force.

Lu Hun looked to his side and saw it there. He was still weak and barely had the strength to speak, "Jin Nian."

On the other side, Granny Wang rushed over upon hearing the news.

Upon seeing Lu Hun sleeping in Miss Biao's room, he immediately said, "Young Master, how are you feeling? If you're feeling better, then go back to your room to sleep. You can't sleep here with Miss Biao; it wouldn't sound good if word got out."

Wenzhu stopped her, saying, "Granny, my elder brother is weak. Let him rest for a while."

"Young Master?" Wang Mama ignored her and looked at Lu Hun with an urging gaze.

Wenqin was somewhat annoyed. "Granny, didn't Third Sister already say that Eldest Brother should rest for a while before going back? You should go back now. Once Eldest Brother is better, we will take him back. Don't say anything more!"

Granny Wang shrank back in fright and dared not speak again. She only told him that she would send the young master back once he was feeling better, and then left.

Wenqin glared in the direction Wang Mama had left. "These people, relying on Grandfather's backing, have never put their masters in their eyes. But you're too good-natured, brother, always letting them do whatever they want to you!"

Lu Hun remained silent.

Wenxuan remained silent.

Looking at the boy's expression, Wei Yin knew that although he had been taciturn before, he was not as gentle as Wen Xuan.

She didn't want Wenqin to continue blaming Lu Hun, since it had nothing to do with Lu Hun, so she said, "Have some more soup, you don't have any strength."

Lu Hun obediently swallowed it, following her hand.

In that instant.

It does resemble the original Lu Hun.

Wenxuan is really going too far.

Lu Hun is only sixteen years old. He already had such a hard life. How can we let him be Wenxuan again and suffer such torment?

Wei Yin thought about the little Lu Hun that Lu Mingli had pushed out, and felt unhappy.

After regaining some strength, Lu Hun saw that Wen Zhu and Wen Qin were still standing on the side watching intently, so he waved for them to go back and rest.

Wen Zhu and Wen Qin initially refused, wanting to escort him back, but Lu Hun said he needed to rest for a while, and that the servants could help him back later; it wouldn't be good for them to go back too late.

Wen Zhu and Wen Qin were finished.

After the two sisters left, Wei Yin silently stared at Lu Hun. Lu Hun took two sips of soup, but couldn't swallow any more. His eyes were sad, and he looked preoccupied.

What happened this time?

Since Lu Hun didn't intend to talk about it, Wei Yin didn't ask directly, fearing it might upset him.

After sitting on the couch for a good half hour, Lu Hun took a deep breath, shakily got up from the short couch, and wanted to go back.

Before leaving, he was still very worried and instructed the maid not to give her any more ropes or anything sharp.

Wei Yin listened to his detailed instructions with a smile, feeling both amused and exasperated. She truly had no ill intentions and smiled as she helped him up, saying, "Let me take you there."

Lu Hun shook his head, "No need, Jin Nian, you should get some rest."

Wei Yin ignored him and insisted on helping him back.

Lu Hun was completely helpless.

The two men were accompanied by two old women who followed at a distance with lanterns. Lanterns were hung all over the house, making them visible.

They told the old women to slow down and not follow so closely.

Wei Yin supported Lu Hun, while Lu Hun, afraid that his weight would crush her, tried his best to walk even though he had no strength.

After taking two steps, he became exhausted and started panting.

Wei Yin quickly told him to sit down and rest in the corridor.

The two old women were quite sensible; they stood at a distance at the other end, not disturbing their master's speech.

Seeing that Lu Hun always looked preoccupied, Wei Yin thought of the light he had taken her to see at the official school that day, so she asked, "Can you see many, many lights?"

"Lamp?" Lu Hun asked, puzzled. "Aren't there lamps hanging under the eaves?"

"It's another lamp, a very bright lamp, a lamp that can shine up to the sky." Wei Yin realized that he could no longer see the light above the scholar's head.

Nearby was Wenlang's residence.

She asked with a smile, "Would you like to see a different kind of light?"

Lu Hun was puzzled, but he nodded nonetheless.

Wei Yin then pulled the hairpin from her hair and picked up his scarred hand, but looking at it, she hesitated to do it.

That day they were watching the lanterns at the official school, but there were only a few lanterns.

But now...

It was almost a full handful.

He made many cuts when he broke through the Yunxuan barrier.

Lu Hun also looked at his hand. It seemed like he had always had this scar, but he couldn't remember exactly when he got it. Moreover, a voice kept telling him that the scar on his hand was not important at all.

Seeing that Wei Yin hesitated to move, Lu Hun understood her meaning.

Without asking any questions, I took the hairpin from her hand.

Without blinking, he forcefully drew a line across his palm.

Then, he handed his hand to Wei Yin.

Wei Yin paused for a moment, then wiped his blood with her finger; his blood was black.

She smeared the blood from her hands onto his eyes.

She then got up and pulled him outside Wenlang's room.

You can see from the window that He Wenqing, now transformed into Wenlang, is asleep.

His page was dozing off on a couch to the side.

Lu Hun looked completely bewildered.

Wei Yin told him to look at the top of He Wenqing's head.

Lu Hun turned his head away.

Suddenly, a faint green light appeared above He Wenqing's head. The light rose slowly and stopped on the left and right sides of the roof.

Lu Hun was shocked. "What is this thing?! How could something like this appear on my second brother's head?!"

Wei Yin couldn't help but laugh when she saw that the ghost was still frightened.

She couldn't help but laugh, "Isn't his pageboy right there? Look up at the top of the pageboy's head."

Lu Hun forcibly suppressed his surprise and looked over.

A faint white light also appeared above the pageboy's head. The light was very weak and short-lived, stopping after only two inches.

This pageboy, who had been with Wenlang for many years, was literate.

Otherwise, there would be no light at all.

"What on earth is going on?! What kind of demon has possessed Wenlang and the others?" Lu Hun was about to rush in.

Wei Yin quickly grabbed him and told him what he had said to her back in the official school.

Lu Hun then realized that this light only emanated from the heads of scholars, and it had various colors and intensities. Those who were too corrupted by studying would even have their heads turn black.

Lu Hun paused for a moment, then subconsciously asked, "Was the light above Grandfather's head black?"

Only after he finished speaking did he realize that he had said something very unfilial.

Wei Yin hadn't thought of that, and when he mentioned it, she laughed so hard she couldn't straighten up. "Yes, I think that's how he should be."

Lu Hun quickly stopped her, "Jin Nian, don't talk nonsense. If Grandfather hears you, you'll get scolded."

Wei Yin endured it for a long time before she finally managed to hold back.

Lu Hun asked curiously, "Do I have one on my head? What does it look like?"

Seeing that he had wiped the blood off his hands, Wei Yin didn't want him to cut himself again, so she changed the subject, "Look at these lamps, aren't they pretty?"

Lu Hun was stunned for a moment, then looked back for a long while.

He nodded slowly. "It looks good."

Wei Yin pulled him back and sat him down on the ground. "Take your time watching for a while."

Lu Hun was surprised. He had been trained in etiquette since childhood and had never sat down so directly without regard for his image.

Wei Yin didn't care what he thought and sat down as soon as he was told.

Although the Wei family were officials, they were not strict about etiquette, and the children in the family were quite casual. Otherwise, Wei's father would not have dared to be so bold back then, and almost became a monk in order to marry Wei's mother.

Wei Yin rarely wanted to think about what her parents did back then, as it would remind her of her mother.

He Wenqing, who believed himself to be Wenlang, endured the burning pain all over his body and finally fell asleep, completely unaware that two people outside the window were watching him with light shining from above.

One of them was his wife.

Wei Yin turned her head, "Are you feeling better?"

Lu Hun was stunned for a moment, "Huh?"

Wei Yin pointed inside and said, "Look at these lights, look at them more often, and you'll feel much better. Lu Hun, you're not Wenxuan, so try not to take Wenxuan's problems for granted. That's not your pain."

Lu Hun was completely stunned. "What do you mean, I'm not Wenxuan?"

Wei Yin picked up a broken branch from the ground and wrote on the sand in front of him.

land.

soul.

Lu Hun found the two characters very familiar.
