Chapter 46

Chapter 46

Ping An did not break Cheng Lele's computer, nor did he touch the expensive-looking surveillance camera.

Ping An has no money and no confidence to get angry with Cheng Lele.

If she broke the computer and Cheng Lele asked her to compensate, she would not be able to afford it at all.

So Ping An just broke the USB drive, deleted the photos in the computer, and then hurriedly wanted to escape from school as quickly as a little mouse.

Life must go on.

Ping An thought that she had to live, and it was better to live a miserable life than to die.

There were not many classes in his senior year, so Ping An followed the trend and started looking for a job.

It was not easy to find a job, especially since Ma Mei often appeared when Ping An was in a negative mood. After being frightened by Ma Mei, her reaction could easily affect others. In addition, she was not very smart and her reaction was not quick. It took her almost a year to stabilize her job.

Ping An worked hard for a few years and soon developed his own skill - being thick-skinned.

Even if he was scolded, he would immediately accept the correction with a smile. Even if he was praised, he would still joke with a smile. Even if his work was taken away by a senior with a background and he was scolded by others, Ping An would still happily joke with everyone and pretend nothing happened.

Small people in society can only live this way; everyone just wants to live a good life, so their experiences are similar. Fortunately, Ping An is a small clerk who edits materials and is occasionally transferred to do finance-related work, which generally does not require much contact with colleagues. This is a blessing in disguise.

That day, Ping An was the last one to leave work, carrying his newly bought canvas bag. He happened to see the newly appointed leader and immediately turned around and walked towards the bathroom.

The boss took one look at the rustic Zhou Ping'an and looked down on her. She was pretty, but her attire was too silly, with a plastic Maitreya Buddha hanging around her neck. Her face was somewhat presentable, but it was obscured by a pair of thick glasses. If she weren't honest and hardworking, and looked cheerful every day, he'd have thrown her out of the company!

"Xiao Zhou, you're studying Chinese language and literature, right?"

Ping An turned around and smiled: "Yes."

"Then help me move these books into my office."

The leader followed his advice and Ping An waited until the books were moved. When Ping An wanted to leave, it was already dark.

Ping'an stretched and was about to turn around when he suddenly caught a glimpse of a tall and thin shadow downstairs out of the corner of his eye.

Unlike Ma Mei's hunched body, the shadow was full of solemnity and coldness, like a cruel and domineering ghost in the dark night. It stood quietly on the street, as if looking at her through more than twenty floors.

It was as if she was its targeted prey!

It was a very strong feeling of being watched. Ping'an's brain buzzed and he subconsciously avoided the gaze. When he came to his senses and was about to take a closer look, the shadow disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Having been blessed by Ma Mei for many years, Ping An is now numb to the supernatural and she did not take the recent episode to heart.

Ping An's company is located on the 20th floor of the entire building. It is not particularly large, but it is definitely not small. Its current development prospects are good, and Ping An is quite satisfied with it.

I walked out of the elevator leisurely and squeezed into the subway which was still crowded.

There was a little girl next to me who was acting coquettishly in her father's arms, complaining quietly that the subway was too crowded. Her father gently comforted the little girl, and finally lifted her above his head and let her sit on his shoulders.

The little girl giggled and touched the railing excitedly.

Ping An took a look and shifted his gaze.

For some reason, Ping An has become increasingly unable to accept crowded places in recent years. Once he is in a crowded place, his whole body becomes stiff, his mind becomes confused, and he even feels nauseous and wants to vomit.

But she couldn't afford to buy a car, so she had to endure the discomfort and stand with her back to everyone.

At this moment, Ping An felt a strong sense of being watched again.

The feeling was very strange, a bit sticky and urgent, as if he was being stared at by some large beast. The terrifying feeling of being swallowed made Ping An immediately turn his head to look.

However, she did not see anything strange. Instead, her movements were so large that they scared the high school students who were returning home from evening self-study.

Ping An gestured to the other party embarrassedly, and the high school student blushed after being frightened.

After getting off the subway, Ping An wanted to relax his overly sensitive nerves, so he went to the snack street. This was the happiest moment of Ping An's day.

I bought a bowl of spicy hot pot and half a pound of discounted chicken fork bones, ordering them spicy. It was already 10 o'clock in the evening when I got home.

The house is very small, just one room. There is almost nothing in the room, just a few work clothes and the only electrical appliances are a fan and a refrigerator. Other than that, the whole room is clean.

Ping'an took out a cold beer from the refrigerator and ate and drank happily, but after only two bites, she felt uncomfortable in her stomach.

She has had an irregular diet in recent years and loves to eat oily and salty foods, which has long since overwhelmed her stomach.

Ping An ate a few more bites, then reluctantly put the remaining spicy hot pot and chicken fork bones into the refrigerator, planning to eat them tomorrow night.

After drinking, Ping'an gradually felt dizzy and took off his clothes and went to the bathroom.

At this moment, that strange gaze came again.

In fact, Ping An used to feel that someone was watching her from time to time. When she mentioned it to others in a subtle way, she was met with sarcastic ridicule. From then on, she never told anyone about it again.

But lately, the stares have become more and more unbridled.

She couldn't tell if there was something wrong with her brain or if someone was really watching her from behind.

After taking a shower, Ping An went to get her underwear and found that there were fewer underwear in the underwear box. Her closet was always messy, so she didn't care about the missing underwear.

After changing her clothes and lying safely on the bed, the pain in her stomach forced her to lie on her side, and her consciousness gradually became confused.

It was raining heavily outside the window, the wind and rain were hitting the doors and windows, and the rain was slowly seeping in through the gaps in the windows that were never closed tightly.

Ping An didn't care at all. It was summer, she just felt cold.

So cold and lonely.

In a hazy state of consciousness, Ping An fell into an embrace filled with the cool scent of gardenias.

Someone kissed away the tears from Ping An's eyes with love.
