Chapter 53

Chapter 53

When Ping'an went out, he felt a severe headache.

I drank too much fake liquor yesterday. Next time I won’t be tempted by cheap wine. I’d rather drink Laoshan wine. Laoshan wine doesn’t have such a strong aftertaste.

As soon as he reached the door, Ping An saw Cheng Xiangheng leaning against the front of the car.

His heart almost stopped for a second, and Ping An immediately turned his eyes away: "Cheng Xiang - Leader, why are you here today? Are you here for an inspection?"

She was practically talking nonsense. Cheng Xiangheng tilted his head slightly to look at her, then smiled brightly: "Of course not, I'm waiting for you."

Who are you waiting for?

Wait for her? How could she deserve to be waited for by her superiors?

When Ping An heard Cheng Xiangheng say he was waiting for her, her first reaction was to laugh, but she quickly remembered the panicked kiss, her heart skipped a beat, and she vaguely realized that Cheng Xiangheng was not waiting for her as a leader.

However, she didn't have the courage to ask out loud, so she coughed lightly and said with a smile, "Thank you for waiting. I should have come down earlier. It's a waste of time to keep you waiting."

She was servile and fawning to the extreme, but she did not win the leader's attention. Instead, his face became unpleasant.

Ping An was unsure of Cheng Xiangheng's temper, so he asked carefully, "Do you need me to accompany you to some event? Or do you want to go somewhere and do something?"

Cheng Xiangheng looked at Ping An steadily, then smiled again: "Sister, do you really have to talk to me in this tone?"

Ping An pursed her lips, revealing a slightly stubborn arc. Cheng Xiangheng was her leader, so what else could she use if not this tone? An insubordinate tone?

He didn't say what attitude she would adopt towards him, so she wasn't that stupid.

Ping An couldn't figure out what Cheng Xiangheng wanted, so he could only think about official business. This way he wouldn't offend anyone and would also avoid being too sentimental.

She knew that some leaders wanted to create a people-friendly image, so she immediately realized that Cheng Xiangheng was also taking this approach, and immediately said, "How could that be? It's been so long since we last met."

Cheng Xiangheng got into the car without saying anything. Ping An hesitated between the passenger seat and the back seat, but finally sat in the passenger seat.

The two chatted casually along the way. When they arrived at the company, Ping An began to realize that something was wrong.

What does it mean for two people to go to the company together?

Ping An didn't dare to get off the car early, so when she arrived at the door she said she hadn't eaten yet. Cheng Xiangheng said he had already prepared food at the company and asked her to go up and eat with him.

Ping An couldn't refuse her boss's words at all. She didn't want to lose her job yet, so she swallowed countless rejections and said, "Okay."

What Ping An didn't expect was that the food prepared by Cheng Xiangheng was very healthy. Ping An hadn't eaten such healthy food for a long time. It was as if he had suddenly jumped out of the trash can and into the Inner Mongolia prairie, galloping on the prairie with the horses, enjoying the lush wild grass and feeling the nature.

Ping An reluctantly took a bite and felt like vomiting, but she forced herself to hold it in, flattered Cheng Xiangheng a few times, praised his taste, and took the opportunity to eat a few fewer bites.

Cheng Xiangheng propped up his head and looked at Ping An, his eyes filled with shattered light. "Sister, would you like living like this with me? I used to eat alone, and no one paid any attention to me. Now I can finally eat with the person I like. It's great. Are you happy, sister?"

Ping An smiled and planned to act like a coward, pretending not to understand what Cheng Xiangheng said.

Cheng Xiangheng seemed to not care about Ping An's answer at all, and smiled tenderly: "Sometimes I always think, it would have been better if we hadn't separated back then."

In this way, Ping An will not be surrounded by a bunch of messy male dogs like he is now!

Finally, when Ping'an walked out of the leader's office with a smile on his face, he grabbed the buns left by Xiaoqiu and took two fierce bites. Only then did he feel alive.

It’s really too unpalatable!

Xiao Qiu was stunned, and then asked Ping An curiously, "What's going on between you and Director Cheng? How does his car ride? Is there any gold lining inside?"

Ping An felt the gossipy gazes of her colleagues and tensed up. She immediately resorted to the same tactics she had used in school: "Boss Cheng and I have no real relationship. My mom and his mom are related by blood, so we're cousins."

The way people around looked at Ping An suddenly changed.

Ping An knew that this set of words would definitely make others change their minds about her, and might even attract unnecessary attention, but Ping An was even more unwilling to be misunderstood in her relationship with Cheng Xiangheng. What if he thought she was annoying and disgusting again, that would be too bad.

At lunch time, Cheng Xiangheng took everyone to have a meal together. Ping An sat in the corner and ate without saying a word.

Several small leaders on the side were flattering Cheng Xiangheng like shrewd people. Cheng Xiangheng didn't say much, but the atmosphere did not cool down.

Wen Zhi sat next to Ping An, and he had noticed Cheng Xiangheng's gaze more than once.

Cheng Xiangheng kept looking at Ping An, his eyes revealing a man's determination to win. That sense of aggression made Wen Zhi very uncomfortable, but the silly girl next to him didn't notice it and was eating happily.

"In the future at the company..." Wen Zhi hesitated for a moment, not saying what he was thinking. "Anyway, don't get too close to Cheng Xiangheng."

Ping An was quite surprised to hear such words: "What's wrong?"

Wen Zhi had heard about Ping An and Cheng Xiangheng's relationship from other colleagues, but he was still worried: "I feel like there's something wrong with him."

Ping An glanced at Cheng Xiangheng and saw that he was smiling and talking to the people around him. There didn't seem to be anything wrong.

"good."

Ping An didn't want to have too much connection with Cheng Xiangheng.

Wen Zhi was still worried, so he looked up at Cheng Xiangheng. What he never expected was that Cheng Xiangheng was also looking at him.

The look in his eyes was extremely resentful, like a devil who had just crawled out of hell and suddenly found that his treasured things had been stolen by a thief. He was furious and gloomy, and wanted to rush over and break his neck!
