Chapter 56: A Grapevine That Triggered...

"The two families were neighbors. The house originally belonged to one family, but later a fence was built in the middle of the yard, and the two families sold it separately."

As luck would have it, a grapevine grew in the middle of the fence, which was shared by both families, and they would quarrel every year when the grapes bore fruit.

Today one family says another family stole their grapes, tomorrow another says this family moved their grapevines over to their side.

In short, there's a big argument every three days and a small argument every two or three days.

Unexpectedly, this argument escalated to the point of physical violence.

Neither family was actually seriously injured, but they both pretended to be in great pain and insisted that the other pay for their medical expenses.

The neighborhood committee was initially trying to mediate, but when that failed, they reported it to the police station. I went to mediate yesterday, but it didn't work either.

Just watch and see. Those old foxes will probably take advantage of you since you're a young girl.

Su He sensed his protectiveness and immediately assured him, "Don't worry, Brother Qian, I have fighting skills and won't let anyone bully me."

Hearing her address, Qian Yuan smiled and said, "Okay, be careful then. Just keep a cold face. In our line of work, the first thing you have to learn is how to scare people."

Su He was surprised that Qian Yuan, who looked so serious, could say such a thing, and immediately laughed, "Okay, then I'll have to learn from him."

The two walked to the hospital. They had no choice; their police station only had two public bicycles, one for each team, and they had to repair them themselves if they broke. So everyone was careful and tried to avoid using them if possible. Plus, the hospital wasn't far from the police station, so they simply walked.

When the two arrived at the hospital, before they even got close to the ward, they could hear people arguing in the distance.

Qian Yuan frowned. "It's probably them again!"

He then quickly walked over.

Su He followed closely behind, only to find two women in their thirties tearing at each other in the corridor.

There were two old women nearby shouting and cursing, using extremely offensive language.

Qian Yuan shouted, "No fighting! Separate now!"

Seeing that they ignored him completely, he tried to step forward and pull the two apart, but since both sides were women, it was not easy to do so.

Seeing this, Su He didn't hesitate and quickly went over, pulling one of them apart with each hand without much effort. Then she stood in the middle to prevent the two from getting any closer.

The other onlookers were surprised that this young woman had such strength. Then they saw that she was wearing a police uniform and immediately understood. Oh, she was a police officer. No wonder!

Qian Yuan breathed a sigh of relief after seeing her take action, and was somewhat satisfied with her. He was even more grateful that a female colleague had finally come along, otherwise this matter would probably have caused a lot of trouble.

Seeing that the situation had been brought under control, he quickly said, "What's all this commotion? Aren't you all too sick to get out of bed? How do you still have the energy to fight!"

As soon as he opened his mouth, one of the women said, "Officer, you have to stand up for me! She's not sick at all; she's faking it!"

"You're the one faking it! You old hag, you're stronger than me, and you say you're too sick to get up, who are you trying to fool! Officer, arrest her right now!"

"Who are you arresting? If anyone's going to be arrested, it's you, you thief, for stealing my grapes!"

"You're the thief! Your whole family are thieves! What's wrong with me picking grapes from my own garden?"

"Those are mine too, and you picked them from mine!"

"It's mine! It's mine!"
