Chapter 97 Buying Things

Su He was surprised. "Setting up a stall? Why is our family setting up a stall too? What are we selling?"

"They're just baskets and pot racks, things that Grandpa and Dad made out of tree branches when they had nothing else to do. Grandma heard there would be a lot of people at the market this time, so she brought them over to try it out."

Su He nodded and then looked at Aunt Xu and the others, "Shall we go to the market first?"

Aunt Xu shook her head. "Go see your grandma first. I haven't seen Aunt Su in a long time either."

Tian Zhenzhen felt the same way. She thought that since she and Su He were friends, she should at least greet Su He's family.

Upon hearing this, Su He asked Su Miao to lead them over.

The Su family's stall wasn't in a very remote location. When Su He and his group arrived, there were a few people watching the spectacle, but they didn't sell much.

Although Grandma Su was old, she saw Su He and the others from a distance and quickly came over to greet them.

"Oh my, my granddaughter is back!"

Then he looked at Aunt Xu and said, "Isn't this Little Xu? Why didn't you tell me you were coming so I could have picked you up?"

"No need for you to come pick me up, Auntie. I came by myself."

The two then began chatting intimately.

Seeing this, Su He didn't interrupt. She smiled and introduced Tian Zhenzhen to the rest of the family. When they heard that she was her colleague, the family members treated her very well, but they were a little reserved, afraid of saying the wrong thing.

Seeing this, Su He smiled and noticed that besides Grandma Su, only her mother and aunt were present. She asked, "Where is the rest of the family? Didn't they come?"

“Your grandpa stayed home to look after the house, and your third aunt didn’t come out even though she’s heavily pregnant. Your eldest uncle and the others did come, but the stall was too small to hold so many people, so your grandma sent them to wait at the village entrance. We’ll call them over to help carry the things we bought.”

As for the younger ones, who knows where they ran off to? They disappeared as soon as I came over.

Su He frowned subconsciously upon hearing this. "Did they leave together? There are so many people here; there's always the possibility of kidnappers or something. We can't let them wander off!"

Auntie said, "Don't worry, your older brother is watching them. Your grandma specifically told them this morning that they wouldn't dare to run around."

Su He was relieved to hear this.

As they were talking, one pot rack was sold from the stall. Judging from the buyer's attire, he must have been a city dweller.

My aunt and the others were very happy to accept the money.

After all, this is something that every household in the countryside knows how to make, but it's impossible to sell. I didn't expect that people in the city would actually buy it.

At this moment, Grandma Su greeted them and said that she planned to take Aunt Xu to buy an old hen.

Aunt Xu is due to give birth next year, and Aunt Xu plans to buy a few chickens to raise. When Grandma Su heard about this, she decided to go and help her choose some.

Su He and Tian Zhenzhen did not go with them. Instead, they told their aunt and the others and then wandered around the market on their own.

During that time, I also saw many colleagues, most of whom brought their families. Of course, I also saw Li Yi and his girlfriend buying malt candy together.

Tian Zhenzhen covered her mouth and smiled after seeing this.

Su He did the same, but neither of them went over to join in the fun and disturb the young couple.

Then they started helping Tian Zhenzhen choose things to take home.

Most of what's sold here are agricultural products or things made by farmers themselves. Other things aren't allowed to be sold. Tian Zhenzhen's family is from the countryside, so they have most of those items.

After wandering around for a while, I only bought some homespun cloth woven by the farmers to take back with me.

Of course, Su He also bought some. In addition, she saw that they were selling honey, which was pure honey made from mountain peaks, so she quickly bought two jars as well.
