"It's nothing, it's probably heatstroke. I just threw up and I feel a little dizzy right now."
It was Lin Jingyan himself who responded.
Seeing that he was still conscious, Su He breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Are you really alright? Should we go to the clinic to get him checked out?"
"No need, I'm really fine, I'll just lie down for a bit!"
After Lin Jingyan finished speaking, he looked at his two older cousins and said, "You two should go back quickly and tell Grandpa and Grandma that I won't be going over."
Upon hearing this, the older cousin immediately waved his hand and said, "You don't need to go. We can handle that work ourselves."
After saying that, he left with Su Lin.
Seeing that he was really alright, Su He didn't force him. She let him lie down and watch the child while she went to the vegetable garden in the backyard, picked a few mint leaves, made some water, and brought it back for him to drink.
After drinking some water and recovering, Lin Jingyan felt much better and was able to sit up.
Su He was relieved; otherwise, she really would have had to take him to the clinic.
However, there is no clinic in their village, so they have to go to the town to get one, which is inconvenient.
Lin Jingyan was feeling much better now, and his dizziness had subsided. Seeing that Su He still looked worried, he smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm really fine. It's just that I'm probably going to become famous in your village now."
He looked helpless after saying that. He felt ashamed when he thought that he was not as good at working as Su Hong and the other girls, and that he had fainted and had to be sent back. His ears even turned red.
Su He couldn't help but laugh when she saw this.
“It’s alright, even if there’s no such thing, you’re quite famous in our village, and it’s nothing. You’ve done very well for your first time working. The autumn harvest is the busiest and most tiring time of the year in the countryside. There’s so much work that even I sometimes can’t handle it, let alone someone like you who has never done it before.”
Lin Jingyan felt somewhat comforted, but still felt ashamed and deeply realized his lack of physical strength.
So he thought for a moment and said, "From now on, I'll get up early and practice boxing with you."
“Sure!” Su He agreed. “This is a good idea. It’s a good way to exercise and prevent illness.”
Lin Jingyan wholeheartedly agreed, as this incident made him truly realize how weak his body was.
When Su He finished work, she truly realized what Lin Jingyan meant by becoming famous in the village.
It's possible that many villagers saw him faint in the afternoon, and even those who didn't see him heard about it.
So after he finished work, many villagers came over to ask him how things were going.
Su He was afraid that Lin Jingyan would feel embarrassed, so she didn't let him come out and just gave him a few perfunctory replies.
Unexpectedly, even the village chief came over to ask about it shortly afterward.
Since the village chief was from the same clan as her and was also an elder, Su He couldn't just dismiss him like she would others, so she called Lin Jingyan out.
He can walk now.
The village chief breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this. It was good that the person hadn't been exhausted. After all, he was the son of a cadre, and if something had really happened to him in their village, he would have been implicated. Fortunately, the person was alright.
The village chief was also tired after a long day, so he left after seeing Lin Jingyan.
When the Su family returned and saw that Lin Jingyan was alright, they breathed a sigh of relief. His older cousins comforted him, saying it wasn't his fault and he would get used to it. They also told him a few embarrassing stories about other villagers while working, which made Lin Jingyan feel less embarrassed.
After dinner, the family sat together and chatted.
Su He and the others will be leaving early tomorrow morning. Grandma Su will be going with them, while Grandpa Su will stay behind for the time being.
After the village harvests its grain, besides handing it over to the authorities, each household receives their share. He's worried about not being home to oversee things.
Su He understood.
But when the topic turned to delivering grain, she looked at her older cousin and asked, "Will our village get to use tractors to deliver grain this year? How's your tractor-driving training going, older cousin?"
