Su He's colleagues probably noticed her state of mind, so they've been trying to persuade her to take it easy these past few days, but she still feels there's not much she can do.

Finally, during the standoff with the police, he accidentally smothered the little girl to death. After being arrested, he was sentenced to death.
Su He's mouth dropped open after hearing that.
"The little girl is dead?"
"Yes." Captain Chen nodded. "She was a very pretty little girl, only six years old. She was very sensible. After being abducted, she didn't make a fuss, just cried softly, looking at me with her big eyes pleading for help..."
I guess her family told her to trust the police, but in the end we couldn't save her.
Su He listened in silence; she could sense the complexity in Captain Chen's tone when he said this.
