Lin Jingyan wasn't much better off; he hadn't expected his mother to do this either.
In the end, I could only awkwardly ask, "Are you sleepy?"
Su He shook her head. "I'm not sleepy. I don't have the habit of taking a nap."
Lin Jingyan seemed relieved upon hearing this, "Then do you want to read a book?"
Su He glanced at the rather large bookshelf in his room and nodded, "That works too." It would be a good way to pass the time, so she looked over at it.
She discovered that most of the books he had were professional books, such as "Mechanical Engineering" and "...Design Manual," which were obviously things she didn't understand just by looking at the titles.
So I reluctantly picked up a book called "History of Mechanical Engineering" and took it out to read. But as soon as I opened it, I was overwhelmed by a bunch of terms.
After reading for a while, I actually felt a little sleepy. This book is even more soporific than math!
So Su He gave up and put the book back.
Seeing this, Lin Jingyan asked, "What's wrong?"
Su He frankly admitted, "I don't understand."
Lin Jingyan laughed, "You should look at the books on my father's side; he has a more complete collection. Mine are all related to your major, so it's normal that you don't understand them. Do you need me to find one for you?"
Su He shook her head. "Never mind, I'm not that fond of reading."
After all, I was already tired of memorizing things in high school.
However, looking at all the books on the bookshelf, she couldn't help but exclaim, "You're amazing! You can understand all of these!"
Lin Jingyan laughed again, "That's what I studied, of course I can understand it."
Su He became interested. "So, what made you decide to study this? Is university interesting?"
Lin Jingyan thought for a moment, "I didn't think too much about it at the time. I just thought this major would be interesting when I was taking the college entrance exam, so I chose it. As for college life, I didn't have much of a feeling about it. It was just studying every day and doing design work with the professors."
"Okay." He's obviously a top student; all he knows is studying.
However, after Lin Jingyan finished speaking, he also thought about how she was unable to go to university.
"What about you? Is it a pity you didn't go to university?"
Su He thought for a moment and nodded, "It's a bit of a pity, because I've never been to university, so I've always had fantasies about it since I was a child."
I never thought I wouldn't be able to go to university, so when I suddenly found out I couldn't go, I felt a bit lost. It was like my long-held goal was gone, but I had to start working hard to survive right away.
Only now am I slowly adapting to the changes in my life and goals.
Lin Jingyan felt a pang of heartache for some reason after hearing her words.
She's only 18, still a young girl, and she has to face all this.
So he went over and hugged her.
Su He also felt a sudden vulnerability, but after feeling his strong shoulders, she instantly felt much more at ease.
The two hugged for a while before Lin Jingyan said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of you and won't let you work so hard. If you still want to go to university, there are opportunities. Some companies can recommend you for university."
Su He nodded without saying anything. Actually, she was quite satisfied with her current life. She had finally settled down, and she was no longer so eager to go to university. She would just let things take their course.
The two hugged for a while, and when they parted, they were both a little embarrassed, and they also felt that the room was a bit hot.
Looking at Su He's flushed face, Lin Jingyan suddenly dared not stay any longer. After all, his parents were also at home, and he was afraid he would lose control.
