Su He and the others were the same. She turned around and took out the letter of introduction from her bag. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that the couple also looked a little nervous, probably realizing that something had happened.
As for the young man, he didn't show any expression.
After the soldiers entered, they dispersed. Apart from those who stayed at both ends of the carriage to guard it, the others walked around the carriage.
Su He noticed that they would focus their attention on men and strong-looking women.
Another person accompanied the train conductor to check passengers' documents, asking detailed questions such as where they worked and what they were doing on the train.
Su He frowned even more upon seeing this.
Their seats were in the middle of the carriage, so we haven't asked them yet.
Su He and the other two were sitting together on the lower bunk, with her on the outermost side.
The couple opposite were the same, while the young man stood in the aisle leaning against the car window, his hands in his pockets, head down, seemingly lost in thought.
Just then, one of the soldiers who had been observing people in the aisle walked over, saw the young man, and asked, "Where did you get on the bus?"
"The capital," the young man replied.
Upon hearing this, the soldier glanced at him again, frowned, and remained silent.
Then he looked at Yan Hongqiang, who had also stood up, and asked him the same question. After Yan Hongqiang answered, he continued walking forward.
Upon seeing this, Su He became even more certain that they were looking for someone.
I just don't know who they're looking for.
Seeing that the train conductor and soldiers were about to ask for their compartments, Su He and the others stood up. The young man then reached into his backpack, opened it, and rummaged through it, seemingly looking for his identification.
When the train conductor came over and saw what was going on, he first asked Su He and the others. The questions for the women were relatively simple, and the soldiers behind them didn't say anything after taking a closer look. However, they asked Yan Hongqiang, the man, in more detail.
They even asked him where he went in Beijing, what he did for work, and what his job entailed, until Yan Hongqiang was sweating from all the questioning.
After they finished asking their questions, Yan Hongqiang subconsciously wiped the sweat from his face before snapping back to reality and putting away the letter of introduction and his work ID.
Meanwhile, the train conductor had already started asking the last young man, glancing at the letter of introduction the man handed him: "Liu Wen, is this the purchasing agent from the state-run restaurant in Beijing, here to buy seafood in the southern province?"
As soon as he said that, Su He subconsciously looked over.
Then I noticed the young man was still looking down, so I couldn't see his expression.
He simply hummed in response.
Su He was puzzled; she hadn't expected him to be a purchasing agent. It didn't seem like it!
The soldier next to her clearly had the same thought and asked, "Where's your work ID? Show it to me."
The young man nodded, then lowered his head and slowly began rummaging through the bag in his hand.
Seeing this, the soldier frowned and said, "Hurry up!"
But the young man remained unhurried, as if he couldn't find it, and kept searching.
Just as the soldier was about to lose patience, the young man suddenly took something out of his bag and threw it at the soldier's face. He then nimbly turned around, shoved the train conductor aside, grabbed Chen Yulan who was watching the commotion, and then took out a cylindrical object from somewhere and pointed it at her temple.
"ah!"
Because he moved so fast, the others didn't even have time to react before they heard Chen Yulan scream.
Su He was also startled by this turn of events and instinctively protected Lin's mother.
Looking up again, I saw that Chen Yulan had been captured by the young man on the other side, and what he was holding was a gun!
