The house is currently empty. The previous family probably had quite a few people in the house, which was divided into two bedrooms and a small living room.
My second cousin doesn't plan to change it either, since his family includes himself and his wife, two children, and an aunt who takes care of the children.
These rooms will be just enough; they probably won't be enough when the children grow up or when we have more children.
However, they haven't considered that much yet.
As I said before, having a place to stay is already a blessing.
Grandma Su and the others were very satisfied after seeing it.
Especially in this day and age, being able to live in an apartment building is a rare thing.
When Auntie came over, she couldn't stop smiling, but she was still a little disappointed and said, "It's still too small. That's the downside of apartment buildings. It's not as spacious as Heya's house. If it were bigger, Heya and you could talk to your workplace about moving to an apartment building."
Su He quickly shook her head upon hearing this, "I'd rather not. Cooking in an apartment building is too inconvenient; I'm not used to it."
Auntie thought about it and agreed, “It is indeed inconvenient. I just asked the neighbors and they said that you have to queue to use the toilet, and it’s the same with cooking. You have to go early to reserve a spot. It’s not as convenient as the courtyard.”
Su He thought so too. Besides, he had a lot of children and a lot of people in his family. He figured they wouldn't be able to leave the apartment building, so living in a large courtyard would be more convenient.
Afterwards, the family helped her second cousin decorate the house. Su He and Lin Jingyan even bought him a sofa as a housewarming gift.
Two days later, my second cousin finally said goodbye to renting and moved into his new home.
Su Lin happened to be on holiday on the day of the move, so she came over and was very envious after seeing the house.
"I also need to work hard so that I can get an apartment as soon as possible!"
Su He chuckled upon hearing this, "Now, housing allocations aren't given to single people; only dual-income couples are eligible. So, if you want housing, you'll have to get married first."
Su Lin's face fell upon hearing this. "Sister, my dear sister, Mom keeps nagging me about this, please don't bring it up!"
Su He laughed upon hearing this, "Didn't Mom already tell Grandma? Why would she tell you again?"
"They've probably been so flattered they've forgotten."
Su Lin's expression was indescribable as he said, "You have no idea, the last time I went home I saw Mom entertaining more than a dozen young girls at home. They all fawned over her, treating her like an empress dowager. Luckily, Grandma didn't see it, or she would have scolded her!"
Su He frowned slightly upon hearing this. "What's going on? They're all asking about you? Mom wouldn't have impulsively arranged your marriage, would she?"
Su Lin shook her head. "It's okay. I talked to Dad, and he told me not to worry. He'll keep an eye on Mom and make sure she doesn't do anything reckless."
Su He wasn't entirely reassured by this. She knew her mother too well; she was easily swayed.
"I think you should get married sooner rather than later, so that other people won't have designs on you."
Su Lin shook her head vigorously after hearing this, "No, I won't get married!"
Su He was a little surprised by his decisive refusal. If he was just slow to realize things and wanted to establish his career before starting a family, she could understand, but why was he so resistant?
After thinking for a moment, she asked, "Do you have someone you like?"
Su Lin was stunned, her ears instantly turning red. She shook her head again, "Sis, what nonsense are you talking about? No, I don't have anyone I like!"
But his demeanor betrayed him, making him feel like he was trying to hide something.
Su He was increasingly convinced that she had guessed correctly, and asked directly, "Who do you like? Tell me, you're not young anymore, it's normal to have someone you like, what's wrong with saying it? If it's a good match, the family will help you propose, isn't that great?"
To everyone's surprise, Su Lin shook her head even faster upon hearing this, "Sister, don't talk nonsense, I don't have anyone I like."
After saying that, he ran away.
Su He was left stunned in place.
