Chapter 189 Pei Yanchuan's thoughtfulness!
"Young man, did you study painting before?" the old man asked curiously, stroking his chin.
"Yes, I learned sketching, ink painting, and oil painting when I was a child, and I taught myself some design in college," Pei Yanchuan said, focusing on his work without changing his expression.
"No wonder." The old man nodded after hearing the answer. That makes sense.
Perhaps because it was the first time drawing, the sugar suddenly broke at the very end, but that didn't stop Xu Wang from giving Pei Yanchuan a warm round of applause.
"Yan Chuan! You're amazing!" Xu Wang exclaimed with admiration.
Pei Yanchuan looked at the undisguised admiration in Xu Wang's eyes, and his mood, which had been a little unhappy because of the broken sugar painting, instantly warmed up, even more so than before.
"I'll give it a try too!" Xu Wang excitedly raised his hand.
"Be careful with the pot." Pei Yanchuan stood up and offered him his seat.
"Okay, okay."
Xu Wang's sugar paintings are also good, but compared to Pei Yanchuan's and the white-haired old man's, they are slightly less refined.
The old man gave the two of them high praise.
Later, when he encountered customers with simpler designs, the old man would proactively communicate with them and have the two of them try to make it. If the customer was not satisfied, he would remake it for them.
Most customers agreed, especially the younger customers, who did not hesitate at all.
Pei Yanchuan did not disappoint them; he became more and more skilled and faster at it.
Xu Wang is the same; he's just a little slower now, but the sugar paintings he makes are still very beautiful.
Just as the two were engrossed in making sugar paintings, Jiang Xiubai and Yunxi, each carrying a candied hawthorn, wandered over to the intersection of the alley.
The two looked at the stall surrounded by people and walked over out of curiosity.
Yunxi and Jiang Xiubai thought there would be some exciting performance, but when they got closer, they found that Xu Wang and Pei Yanchuan were sitting at the stall.
"What's going on with you two?" Yunxi asked, looking at the two of them with a puzzled expression.
Pei Yanchuan was concentrating intently on drawing a sugar painting.
“We’re making money,” Xu Wang, who was resting nearby, gave him the answer.
"Make money? How do you make money?" Yunxi became interested instantly when he heard about making money, and he even stopped eating the candied hawthorn in his hand.
Xu Wang briefly explained the rules for making money.
Yunxi suddenly felt like he was good again. He had participated in school painting competitions when he was a child and even won second prize.
Yunxi thought it over and over and felt it was a good idea. He began to seriously observe Xu Wang and Pei Yanchuan making sugar figurines.
Jiang Xiubai realized that he and Yunxi only had a few coins left in their wallets, so in order to have more fun later, he could only obediently learn from the side.
Xu Wang and Pei Yanchuan were very efficient, and all 10 sugar paintings were sold out quickly.
The white-haired old man counted out 10 one-hundred-yuan bills and handed them to the two people; these were all prepared in advance by the production team.
Pei Yanchuan didn't leave immediately after receiving the money; he remained standing there, looking at the old man in front of him.
"What's wrong? Did I miscount?" the old man asked, looking puzzled.
"Yan Chuan?"
"Could you please make a sugar painting for my wife? We have the money to buy one now."
Xu Wang and Pei Yanchuan's voices rang out simultaneously.
Xu Wang's eyes widened in shock upon hearing Pei Yanchuan's words.
The old man then remembered Xu Wang, who had been watching him draw sugar paintings, and he instantly understood and smiled.
He walked to the chair, sat down, and turned to look at Xu Wang, who was still staring blankly at Pei Yanchuan: "Alright, young man, what kind of sugar painting do you want?"
Xu Wang snapped out of his reverie upon hearing the old man's words. He took out his phone from his pocket, opened a recently taken picture, and handed it to him: "I want a sugar painting of a puppy. This is the puppy we raised together; its name is Nuomi."
"You've raised this dog so well, it's so chubby and healthy," the old man exclaimed, looking at the picture of the little fat dog.
After he finished speaking, he started boiling the syrup.
While the old man was painting sugar pictures, Xu Wang glanced at the man beside him and quietly hooked his index finger with the little finger of his right hand.
Pei Yanchuan sensed Xu Wang's actions and immediately took the initiative. His long, bony fingers slowly slipped between Xu Wang's fingers, finally interlocking completely.
Xu Wang gripped Pei Yanchuan's hand tightly, a triumphant smile spreading across his face.
The cameraman, of course, didn't miss the two's secret movements.
[Ahhh, this is in slow motion!]
[They're holding hands so tightly...]
[President Pei really does keep his wife's wishes in mind.]
