Chapter 50 The Show Begins

A few days later, Tang Chen, who had been a little depressed, smiled again. She hadn't really let go of Su Zhirou's matter, she had just figured it out. Besides, no matter how upset she felt, she had to learn to lie to herself. She didn't want to look worried all day long.

Wang Yanzhou saw that she was in a bad mood these days, so when he had some free time, he took her for a walk around the area to relax. During the walk, he heard that some famous singing and dancing girls had recently come to the Red Mansion, so he took her along.

On the stage, there is a lot of spoken words and only a few sung parts, with three parts singing and seven parts acting; Tang Chen, who is sitting below the stage, is watching everything on the stage intently.

It was rare for Wang Yanzhou to see Tang Chen so serious, so he whispered in her ear: "This play is good, and the writing is also quite good. What do you think?"

Tang Chen turned his head and smiled foolishly at him, then his expression changed: "Actually, I didn't understand anything at all. Or rather, I didn't react to what they were singing at all. Am I useless?"

Wang Yanzhou shook his head and said "poor kid" before continuing to watch the show seriously. When Tang Chen was about to ask him what scene the show was about, Wang Yanzhou motioned her to keep quiet.

Different from the lively gongs and drums and the actors who appeared on stage just now, after a round of applause, a melodious and cool flute sound slowly rang out from the stage, and after the flute sound ended, the sound of zither and qin followed closely.

Under the soothing music, the protagonist finally appeared on the previously empty stage. If Wang Yanzhou hadn't reminded him, Tang Chen would have been unable to believe that the person dancing so gracefully on the stage was actually a young man. His slender figure, the charming eyes and eyebrows, accompanied by the melodious sound of stringed instruments, were intoxicating.

Just as everyone was enchanted, the music ceased quietly; the sound of the pipa, like the sound of galloping cavalry, began, and the dancers on stage shifted from their graceful, swirling posture. Folding fans, seemingly appearing from nowhere, opened and closed as they danced, creating a majestic atmosphere. To use the words of a lay Buddhist from Xiangshan, it was like witnessing Yang Guifei's "Rainbow Skirt and Feathered Robe Dance": The first sight was breathtaking, yet gazing intently and listening intently was not enough.

When the dancer took his bow and left, Tang Chen still stared at his back with his eyes wide open and his hands covering his chest, "Boss, I think I might be in love."

After Wang Yanzhou smeared Tang Chen's face with his hands, he whispered, "Just think about this in your heart, don't say it out loud in public."

Tang Chen waited until her eyes could no longer follow that graceful figure before turning back to Wang Yanzhou. Look at her boss Wang's figure, his looks, and his hair, which had been slicked with Rejoice. If he danced with that black paper fan, he would surely be as stunning as the dancer just now. "Boss, can you dance?"

...After Tang Chen stumbled out of the Red Mansion and returned to the inn, he returned to his room, clutching his chest with a look of infatuation on his face. But not long after, Wang Yanzhou heard several unusual banging sounds coming from next door.

When he pushed open Tang Chen's door, he only saw a man with his feet upside down and his head on the ground, who might be trying to suffocate himself: "What are you doing?"

Tang Chen leaned against the wall, holding his waist and explaining with some difficulty: "I, I just want to see if I can still learn to dance from scratch with my body."

Wang Yanzhou stepped forward and shook his head when he saw Tang Chen like this: "I think there is no hope for you."

"I know that too." At this point, Tang Chen said that Wang Yanzhou came over like this, could it be that he really just wanted to watch the fun? "So, why don't you give me a hand!"

After Tang Chen successfully escaped, she supported her old waist and climbed onto the bed. She remembered that she was still in her prime, but why was her waist like a dead branch? She didn't dare to move too much: "Boss, besides this face, I don't seem to have many advantages."

Wang Yanzhou agreed without even thinking: "That's true."

Tang Chen sat up straight and explained his nonsense to Wang Yanzhou in a serious tone: "...Boss, I think you may not understand us women very well. When I was telling you that I disliked myself, what I actually wanted to know was your negative answer."

"Oh, you really don't have any advantages."

"That's not a denial!"

After Tang Chen's efforts to stretch his ligaments and make his body soft wore off, the days of either sitting or lying down once again became an important part of Tang Chen's life.

After Wang Yanzhou's repeated disgusting education, Tang Chen could no longer stand his constant nagging, so he simply fulfilled his wish, walked out of the inn, and sat at the door to observe the various aspects of life.

Not long after, the sky gradually grew gloomy. Tang Chen spotted a nest of ants moving near the inn entrance. He squatted down, intending to follow them to see if he could find their nest. Suddenly, a pair of large feet appeared, desperately blocking the entrance to the ant hole Tang Chen had just found.

Tang Chen was just about to look up to see who it was when the person asked first: "Miss Tang, is the Valley Master here?"

Tang Chen was startled: "Hey, Brother Shen, aren't you in Qinghe? Why are you here? He's in the room, I'll take you upstairs!"

"Thank you, young lady."

After bringing the person in, Tang Chen understood the situation very well. Without waiting for Wang Yanzhou to drive the person away, he took the initiative to close the door and leave.

After Tang Chen left, Chen Xin pulled a stack of documents from his chest and handed them to Wang Yanzhou. This contained the first meaningful results they had obtained after three years of investigation. If he hadn't known how important this matter was to Wang Yanzhou, Chen Xin wouldn't have personally brought the information from Qinghe to Jiangdu in the first place.
