Shi Zairong, unaware that the private seal and jade pendant he left behind to prove his identity had long been taken away, strolled leisurely through the South Vietnamese stronghold town. He puffed out his chest and strode forward with his head held high, ready to walk in with a proud and confident look. However, he was stopped by South Vietnamese soldiers in front of a sentry post some distance from the town entrance.
After the archer on the sentry post aimed his bow at the newcomer, the people below the sentry tower saw that he was dressed in rags and tatters, and thought he might be a refugee from somewhere, so they tried to drive him away: "Stop, beggar, you are rushing forward like a madman, don't you know where you are? Get out of here now, don't block the road, or I'll punish you!"
Shi Zairong saw that the guards outside the town were doing a good job, so he bowed and said, "I'm from South Vietnam. I previously arranged to meet with General Xie Zhuangshui today. Could you please let him know?"
The guard looked him over carefully again, then whispered with the people around him for a while. He cleared his throat with a dry cough and said, "Do you have a token or something like a letter to prove your identity?"
"Of course," Shi Zairong said as he rummaged through his body, even the swan eggs were turned out. The ground was full of miscellaneous items, but there was nothing he was looking for.
Seeing him searching for something for a long time without any results, the guard became impatient and said, "What's wrong with you? If you can't find the item, get out of here right away."
Shi Zairong said somewhat embarrassedly: "...Maybe, I lost it on the way. But you guys must believe me, I really am one of us!"
The archer on the sentry post now raised a loud suggestion: "From my point of view, this man is very strange. He doesn't look like an ordinary beggar. Maybe he is a spy sent by Qingliang Valley to gather intelligence!"
Shi Zairong was at a loss when he heard this: "Brother, I'm really not a spy. I didn't want to scare you, but now it seems I have to tell you!"
"What else do you want to say, you spy? Come on, capture this man!"
These soldiers didn't listen to Shi Zairong's nagging. They went straight up and held him down. They also helped him pick up the things on the ground and took them in their hands.
Shi Zairong resisted and shouted, "Stop! I'm your Grand Master Shi Zairong! Who dares to arrest me?"
The soldier said, "I dare you, a spy! How dare you impersonate the Grand Tutor? The Grand Tutor is thousands of miles away in South Vietnam. You can impersonate anyone else! Come on, take him away and torture him. I don't believe he won't tell the truth!"
At this moment, Ou Yezi, who knew that Shi Zairong might come back soon, happened to be out for a walk. Seeing that there was some noise at the entrance of the town, he thought of coming over to see what was happening.
You don't know until you see it. It's shocking. Although Shi Zairong looks embarrassed now, he is still a familiar face. Ou Yezi recognized him at a glance.
Ou Yezi, like a bystander watching a fun scene, asked with a hint of curiosity, "What happened?"
When the soldiers guarding the town entrance saw Ou Yezi coming, they also said respectfully, "Sir, we have captured a spy from the Liang State and are taking him away for punishment."
"Oh, really?" As he spoke, Ou Yezi glanced at Shi Zairong casually, and happened to meet his eyes, which were red with anger. "I think this man has an extraordinary background. You might as well hand him over to me. Lord Xiahou is here right now, and interrogating people is his specialty."
The soldiers exchanged glances, and after one of the guards quietly left, the soldier escorting the man said, "...Then, thank you for your help, sir."
After Ou Yezi "rescued" Shi Zairong from the soldiers, he led him to a less patrolled area, intending to take a shortcut back to his own residence. He had been ignoring everyone along the way, and when he saw that there was no one around, he finally exploded: "Ou Yezi, you, you're so good! Why didn't you prove your identity to me just now, and you even took me to be tortured by Xiahou Qing? What do you mean by that? Ah! If you don't explain yourself to me today, I'll let you have a taste of my power!"
Ou Yezi shook his head slightly and said helplessly: "You just want to enter the town, right? I've helped you a lot, but you really don't know how to appreciate my kindness!"
No matter what he said, Shi Zairong still asked the same question as before: "Huh, then why don't you just tell them my identity!"
Ou Yezi smiled and said, "When I spoke just now, the Grand Master didn't refute me, did he? I was surprised that a dignified Grand Master was stopped by his own guards. If I told anyone, no one would believe it."
Shi Zairong was also very depressed. There was no way the seal had just fallen somewhere. When he had arrived at Qingliang Valley, the item was still on him. It must have been Tang Chen who took it away while he wasn't paying attention. "My seal is lost, otherwise why would I have wasted so much time with them?"
Seeing that his anger had almost subsided, Ou Yezi asked, "Okay, then, do you want to go to my place to clean up first, or go find Xie Zhuangshui and the others first?"
Shi Zairong looked at his tattered clothes helplessly and sighed: "I originally wanted to tidy myself up first, but now it seems that I have to go talk to them first."
As soon as he finished speaking, the guard who had just left the town appeared in front of them, accompanied by Xie Zhuangshui, Xiahou Qing, and the others. Ou Yezi couldn't help but sigh and said, "Oh, they're guarding me like a thief every day. It's so chilling."
Shi Zairong taunted him, "You are a thief to begin with. If not you, who should I be on guard against?" Then, Shi Zairong hid behind Ou Yezi, preparing for his grand appearance.
Xie Zhuangshui glanced at the refugee behind Ou Yezi and asked, "I heard you brought someone back from the town entrance. Why didn't you go to see me?"
Ou Yezi replied, "General, I originally wanted to take this man to wash up before going to see you."
Xie Zhuangshui said with a forced smile, "Really? That's not necessary. I'd really like to see the origins of this spy that you, Mr. Rang, have asked me to leave behind."
Xie Zhuangshui waved his right hand slightly, and just as the soldiers, having received the order, were about to forcibly grab the man behind Ou Yezi, the man spoke up: "Thank you, General, Lord Xiahou, it's been a long time since we last met. I miss you very much."
When Xie Zhuangshui heard the sound, he quickly told these people not to take action: "This sound is!"
Ou Yezi cooperated by taking a step to the side, revealing the person behind him. Seeing that the spy the guards had been talking about was actually Shi Zairong, who had done him a great favor, Xie Zhuangshui was completely shocked: "Grandmaster, what's going on with you?"
After saying this, Xie Zhuangshui angrily scolded, "Are you sure the spy you just stopped is this person?"
