When the first line of blood oozed out, she just closed her eyes and swayed her arms silently in the water.
The second wound was quickly healed, and warm blood flowed into the water.
Blood is the medium of sacrifice.
Her body shivered slightly as the cold water hugged her exposed bones.
The sound of the incantation was just low and hoarse at first, but later on, it gradually became sharp and shrill, which did not belong to her.
Following her spell, the fish that were originally swimming around suddenly stopped.
Thousands of fish turned around at once, their eyes turning white in the dim light, staring at Lu Ying's wrist which was bleeding profusely.
She couldn't see it, but she could feel that the fish's intelligence had been awakened to some ancient consciousness.
The blood spread in the water like lingering red clouds.
The school of fish began to move slowly, each one seemed to be pulled by invisible threads, forming a strange circular formation.
The first circle consisted of five hundred silver-scaled fish, the second circle of red-spotted fish, and the third circle consisted of deep-sea stingrays that had never shown any friendliness to humans. Their bodies were flickering with a faint phosphorescent glow, like the light of the underworld.
Lu Ying continued to chant, her voice becoming increasingly sharp, like the wail of an animal tearing its throat.
Her blood was draining her strength, but she didn't even dare to twitch her eyelids.
The fish's rotation was picking up speed, and the current formed a downward vortex that entangled her and dragged her deeper.
"Come on... come on..." She hissed in her throat, as if it was no longer a human voice.
Suddenly, a low pulsating sound was heard from the bottom of the aquarium, a hundred meters underground.
The pulsation seemed to come from outside of time, shocking all the aquatic creatures to become stiff.
After a brief pause, the rotating school of fish suddenly emitted a faint light.
The body of each of these fish was glowing, and the scales reflected a strange light array. A huge black disc slowly appeared under Lu Ying's feet.
On the disc were ancient witchcraft characters, with symbols like entangled worms, wriggling and devouring each other.
The seal finally responded to her blood.
Lu Ying was slowly lifted up by the whirlpool, and her fish tail coiled in the water like a snake.
The blood flowed under her body forming a thick blood belt, falling straight into the abyss along the whirlpool.
The blood was like a long-awaited invitation, awakening the sleepers underground.
Then came a second pulse, deeper than the previous one, more like the beating of some giant heart.
The steel and glass of the aquarium were shaking, the water pressure suddenly lost balance, and the deepest viewing glass was covered with fine cracks.
"Ah...it's almost there..." Lu Ying opened her eyes. Her pupils no longer had the color of a human. They stood upright like a deep-sea snake.
Suddenly, a huge hand bone stretched out from just below the vortex.
It had no muscles or skin, its knuckles like dry, white coral, and an inky, sinister aura seeped from the cracks between its bones. The hand grasped the edge of the disk, slowly supporting half of its body.
Lu Ying's lips trembled, her voice filled with uncontrollable madness: "Great Ghost King... I will offer my blood to lift the seal and welcome you back..."
Then, a third pulsation sounded, and the entire body of water roared. The cracks in the glass suddenly expanded like a shattered net. The lights on the observation deck went out instantly, and even the backup power supply failed. The world fell into complete darkness.
Countless pale fish eyes slowly opened in the darkness, all looking towards the skeletal figure that had emerged. It slowly raised its head, and two dark purple ghostly flames burned in its eye sockets.
At that moment, Lu Ying felt a chill of despair running down her spine and up the back of her head. She'd expected fear, but she hadn't imagined it would be so intense and suffocating. But she had no way out.
The bony hand released the disc, and the Ghost King's entire form slowly rose out of the seal. Water spiraled around it like countless kneeling believers. It lowered its head, and purple flames flickered in its hollow eye sockets.
It saw her.
Lu Ying endured the loss of blood and pushed the last breath into her throat: "I will give you my life in exchange for your birth!"
In an instant, the Ghost King's bony hand lifted slightly. She felt as if her chest was pierced by an invisible hand, and the pain spread to every bone.
Then, her blood turned into a long, narrow red line and flowed straight into the depths of the Ghost King's hollow sternum.
In the darkness, a low voice laughed softly.
The Ghost King opened his purple fire eyes, raised his hand, and the last rune under the seal shattered into countless light spots and disappeared completely.
Lu Ying's body finally stopped shaking. A smile appeared on her face, as if she had finally broken free from the shackles of the world.
The fish moved again, this time no longer forming a circle. Instead, they clung to the Ghost King, wrapping themselves around his skeletal form. As it slowly took steps, the abyss beneath the earth yawned like a gaping maw, waiting for a new nightmare to surface.
The seal is completely lifted.
The dark waters were still filled with the evil aura after the seal was broken.
The Ghost King stood in the center of the whirlpool, his skeletal body surrounded by a school of fish, and purple ghost fire flickered in his empty eye sockets.
Countless ghosts seemed to be howling around it. It raised its head and slowly stretched out its second giant white palm, its fingertips outlining circles of dark runes in the water.
Suddenly, a bright golden light descended from a crack in the dome of the aquarium, like a rope dropped from the sky by a god.
That's Su Yao.
Her figure slowly emerged in the beam of light, her plain white dress floating in the air, her long hair hanging quietly on her shoulders without being affected by the water.
She fell into the water without causing a ripple.
As soon as the slender toes touched the edge of the deep-sea disc, an invisible pressure instantly spread like a tide.
The school of fish that were originally wriggling frantically suddenly stopped at the same time.
She didn't even glance at Lu Ying as she dissipated into dust, not even a flicker of emotion. The once human form crumbled to ash amidst the sinister aura, quietly vanishing at her feet.
Su Yao raised her eyes, her eyes were cold and indifferent.
"You devil, who allowed you to interfere in the world?" Her voice was calm, without any emotion, but it seemed as if she was making a judgment.
