Chapter 43 Why are you taking off your clothes? Why are you sad? Did you think I was annoying...?
The fox walked silently on the cobblestone path, looking around as it went. Why was no one there? What were they all doing so mysteriously?
Could it be that they really went to a barbecue behind my back? I didn't smell any barbecue at all.
As dusk fell, the fox, unfamiliar with the backyard and without a lantern for light, circled around several times without finding anyone. He then plucked a blade of grass from the flowerbed and played with it by twirling it around his finger.
He thought to himself, "Oh well, if I can't find it, I can't find it. I might as well go back to sleep."
The fox hummed a song out of boredom. As he passed a door, he suddenly stopped and looked at it with some suspicion. There seemed to be a faint smell of blood behind the door.
The fox slapped its thigh. "I know! They must be stuffing blood sausage in there, or maybe they're making duck blood vermicelli soup."
Suddenly realizing what was happening, I secretly pushed the door, but it wouldn't budge; it was locked from the inside.
What's there to doubt? Sneaking around like that, and locking the door, they must be sneaking a bite!
Ugh, you didn't invite me to eat something delicious.
The fox lightly stepped on the wall for leverage and easily climbed over it. Looking down, it saw several familiar faces standing in the yard.
The fox grinned, revealing two sharp white teeth. Sure enough, this was the place.
Under the cover of night, when no one could see him, the fox crouched low and stealthily crept over. There was another room inside, unlocked. The fox-dog cautiously pushed the door open a crack and peered inside.
The house was brightly lit by a brazier, and the fox could spot his friend at a glance. Without looking at anything else, the fox was overjoyed and pushed open the door.
The iron gate creaked open and slammed against the wall with a loud thud. The cold outdoor air rushed in, diluting the stench of blood inside.
The fox stood triumphantly at the door. "Hehe, caught you! Let me see what you've been up to behind my back."
The room was silent. The two Imperial Guards reacted quickly. When they saw the people at the door, they broke out in a cold sweat. The head of the guards had specifically instructed them to keep it a secret, especially from that young master.
But... how did he get in? There are guards in the courtyard and people watching in front of the young master's room, so how could he suddenly appear here?
Thinking back to the young master's behavior in the temple, I felt a chill down my spine. Who exactly is this person? Could he really be some kind of supernatural being?
At that moment, Tinglan was slowly crushing the bandit's fingers. He thought it was someone else coming in, so he looked up when he heard the noise. But after just one glance, his mind went blank, and a meaningless buzzing sound came to his ears.
He stood up abruptly, strode to the door, and instinctively tried to block the young prince's view.
He wasn't sure if his hands had been stained with blood, so he didn't dare to help the young prince up. Instead, he lowered his voice and asked, "Your Highness, what brings you here?"
In the few seconds that Tinglan walked over, the fox had enough time to see everything inside the room. Fortunately, the people tied up inside were all facing away from the door, so the fox couldn't see them clearly.
It looks like my best friend is hitting someone.
Good heavens, fox!
You've really made something of yourself! I'll never have to worry about you being bullied when you go out again.
The fox reached out and patted Tinglan on the shoulder with great satisfaction.
That's great! I'm so proud of you. If anyone bullies you, you should beat them up!
The fox quickly said, "Are you busy? I'll go outside and play first. Come find me when you're done."
He sighed deeply, as if to say, "I understand. When it comes to fighting, you have to do it in one go. It's really annoying to be interrupted halfway through."
Before Tinglan could say a word, the fox ran off without looking back, bending over and covering its mouth to chuckle as it ran. It was truly gratifying that its good friend knew to be a little ruthless.
But Tinglan saw these reactions as completely different.
The young prince first sighed, then left without looking back... The meaning behind this was clear.
His Highness disapproved of his behavior.
In the shadows, Tinglan staggered a few steps, barely managing to support himself on the door frame with one hand. His knuckles turned white from the effort, and he felt dizzy, even though the ring the little prince had given him during the day was still on his hand.
Tinglan didn't know whether she should chase after them.
There's really no good explanation for this. What happened today isn't even a big deal. He's done things ten times bloodier than this before.
Having climbed to this position, he inevitably had to kill for the emperor.
The night wind howled, and Tinglan silently closed her eyes as she gazed at the young prince's retreating figure in the courtyard.
In short, no matter what, he will not give up, even if he has to force it.
The fox wandered around the yard, but it was so empty and boring that it started kicking pebbles for fun.
Xie Yunchuan was quite surprised to see him. After straightening his clothes, he cautiously walked over with a sheepish smile and asked, "What are you doing here, Your Highness?"
The fox looked up and smiled, "I've come to find Tinglan."
Just as Xie Yunchuan was about to say something, his stomach growled, and the young general suddenly raised his hand to cover his stomach.
What happened! How could he have messed up at such a crucial moment? It's so embarrassing! His face turned bright red, and his neck turned red as well.
The fox was very generous. He took out a bag of snacks from his pocket and handed it to him, saying, "Are you hungry? I have some good food here."
Xie Yunchuan's eyes widened, thinking to himself, "Is this what it means to treat scholars with respect?"
Your Highness is indeed kind and benevolent!
He hurriedly accepted it, his face still flushed from embarrassment, and quickly thanked him.
At that moment, Tinglan happened to be standing not far away and just happened to see the little prince handing something to Xie Yunchuan, who then blushed and accepted it.
He no longer knew what he was feeling; the numbness in his fingertips had spread to his heart, making him feel almost no emotion.
Tinglan turned around and first washed his hands in the water vat on the side. The weather was freezing cold, and a thin layer of ice had formed in the water vat. Putting his hands into it was icy cold and extremely painful.
Tinglan seemed oblivious to everything, diligently washing her hands over and over again.
The fox tilted its head and finally saw its good friend. Happy and bouncy, it skipped over and tugged at his sleeve. "Are you done with your work?"
Wow, that was fast! Very professional.
Tinglan nodded but didn't speak. Turning around, afraid that her cold hands would chill the little prince, she grabbed the little prince's wrist through her sleeve and pulled him outside without saying a word.
I need an explanation, but I don't know what to explain.
He was a man with blood on his hands, scheming and ruthless, and not at all honorable.
I didn't want it to be like this, but I had no choice. You can't hate me because of this.
“They… they treat human life like dirt, they’ve killed countless people, they all deserve to die.” He heard himself say this.
The fox nodded seriously, indicating that it completely agreed.
To deal with bad guys, you have to beat them up! A left hook, then an uppercut, and then an over-the-shoulder throw.
"This servant has never indiscriminately killed innocent people."
The fox nodded again. "Is there any need to say more? You're definitely not that kind of person."
The two fell silent for a moment. Tinglan felt exhausted and had nothing more to say; the fox felt very hungry and wanted to eat, but had no energy to speak.
Upon reaching the bedroom, the two pushed open the door amidst the bewildered and fearful gazes of the guards.
As soon as they entered, the fox sat obediently at the table and asked in a soft voice, "When are we eating?"
He noticed that his good friend seemed a little different than before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what the differences were.
Tinglan was in a state of confusion and did not hear what the young prince said. He turned his back, took off his black cloak, and wore only a red round-necked robe with a jade belt around his waist, which outlined his waistline.
The fox braced itself on the armrests and sank deeper into the chair.
Tinglan continued to lower her head and untie the jade belt, her clothes half-open, revealing her fair collarbone and half of her chest.
He knew that the young prince liked to touch...this place...
Is he shameless for acting like this now?
The fox was puzzled. He couldn't help but move back a little more, but there was no room left behind him.
Is it time to sleep? But I haven't eaten yet.
Tinglan released his grip, letting the jade belt fall to the ground with a crisp sound.
He stepped forward, casting a shadow over him, his eyes burning with intensity.
But the next second, the palm print suddenly lowered its body and knelt down in front of the little prince's seat, its deep red robe trailing on the ground, layer upon layer like a red camellia.
Camellias are also known as "broken-head flowers" because when they bloom in full glory, the entire flower falls from the branch without ever showing any signs of decay.
He looked up. "Your Highness once said you liked me. Does that still stand?"
He could give His Highness anything he wanted—money, power, even the highest position—he could get it for the young prince… though he didn’t think the young prince would be interested in it.
The fox looked a little confused and nodded blankly, "I like it."
Upon hearing these three words, Tinglan's anger subsided by half.
But he insisted on continuing, "What I'm talking about isn't just ordinary liking, it's love and affection."
The fox blinked, bent down, and slowly embraced Tinglan.
The fox doesn't understand what love is, but the fox thinks you're feeling a bit sad right now and really need a hug.
Tinglan was at a loss, her hands stiffly hanging at the sides of the fox, her eyes full of confusion, "Your Highness?"
The fox rested its head on Tinglan's shoulder, its fingers clenching around his waist. "Are you sad?"
Tinglan remained silent and did not answer.
"Why? Do you think I hate you?" The fox raised its head, its eyes showing a rare seriousness.
Upon hearing these words, Tinglan's heart nearly skipped a beat, and his numb fingers gradually returned to normal. It was as if a dying man had been granted a pardon. His lips moved twice, but he still couldn't utter a single word.
The fox sighed and cupped Tinglan's cheeks in its hands. "You people are so complicated, I don't quite understand, but I really like you."
Tinglan was stunned. He suddenly looked up at the little prince, then hugged him back, and their lips met.
The two sat embracing on the woolen carpet for a long time, and the fox's little paws started to wander again.
The clothes are already undone, so just touch it.
After all, it's soft and bouncy, which is really comfortable.
Tinglan pressed down on the young prince's hand and asked slowly and gently, "What about Your Highness and Xie Yunchuan?"
Perhaps because he spent so much time with the young prince, he also learned to take advantage of others and become arrogant.
The fox was dumbfounded.
