Chapter 12 Zhao Qingzhu

Zhu Yunwen was stunned when he heard the words "fiancée".

This was something he hadn't expected; he never imagined he already had a fiancée.

He couldn't help but take a closer look at the girl opposite him.

But to be fair, the girl was indeed very beautiful, with willow-leaf eyebrows, big eyes, and a small, cherry-red mouth below a slightly upturned nose.

Her face is oval-shaped, and with those exquisite features, there's not a single flaw to be found.

It can only be described as perfect and exquisite.

If we're talking about celestial beauty, she's probably not much different from the woman before me.

"Fiancée? I am truly honored to have such a beautiful fiancée as you."

Upon hearing this, the girl opposite blushed slightly and said shyly:

"You certainly know how to talk, but I've heard you have a terrible reputation. So today, I came out for a stroll and heard rumors about you in the city, so I waited here, hoping to meet you. You are quite different from the rumors."

Zhu Yunwen said with a smile:

"What's different?"

The girl thought about it carefully and said:

"Rumors say you are cowardly, incompetent, and timid, yet I have heard that you killed an official's son in the city without any mercy. This overturns the rumors about you, because this is something that a cowardly, timid, and useless person could not have done."

Zhu Yunwen nodded and said:

"Hmm, anything else?"

The girl then said:

"I've also heard that you have a speech impediment and that you have great difficulty speaking. But now that I've seen you, you are eloquent and persuasive. This is quite different from what I've heard, and it has truly surprised me."

Zhu Yunwen scratched his head and said:

"I never imagined that the rumors about me were so despicable."

Contrary to rumors, he wasn't as incompetent as some portrayed. Rather, the original owner of this body, Zhu Yunwen, before his transmigration was indeed a cowardly, incompetent, and inarticulate person.

This is why he has such a bad reputation.

"And there's one more crucial point!"

The girl spoke again, and Zhu Yunwen was completely stunned, saying:

"Anything else? I never imagined my reputation was so bad that you, someone I've never met, would have so many negative impressions of me."

Upon hearing Zhu Yunwen's somewhat teasing words, the young girl couldn't help but smile and say:

"Let me finish. I've heard that you're timid and cowardly outside, but extremely domineering and irritable towards palace maids, eunuchs, and subordinates. You're a typical bully who preys on the weak and fears the strong. You're no good."

But now you're standing up for the people in the city, and I heard you even gave money to the oppressed tea stall owner so he could see a doctor? Such a good deed is truly unrelated to your infamous reputation.

Zhu Yunwen shrugged, unsure whether to agree or disagree, and said:

"So, which type of fiancée do you hope your fiancée will be?"

These words made the girl blush again.

Then she said:

"Don't be angry, but actually, before this, I was very unwilling to be your fiancée. I even had several big fights with my father."

But my father said he dared not bring it up because of the Emperor's majesty. Besides, my family would much rather have a connection with the royal family, except for me, who was quite dissatisfied.

Zhu Yunwen wasn't angry at all. Although the girl in front of him was straightforward, she was talking about the Zhu Yunwen of the past, not the current him.

After all, to outsiders it looks like one person, but in reality it's two people.

So Zhu Yunwen not only wasn't angry, but went on to mock him:

"You said that before this, you didn't really like me, which means that from now on, you like me?"

The girl was stunned for a moment, her face turning as red as if it were about to bleed.

She hadn't expected Zhu Yunwen to be so good at flirting, so she said shyly:

"You... I didn't say that! Don't try to control me with these kinds of statements."

Zhu Yunwen then said, "Isn't that so? Or do you still not want to be my fiancée? Do you want to break off the engagement?"

Upon hearing this, the girl panicked and blurted out:

"Of course not, I..."

She then realized she had said the wrong thing, lowered her head shyly, and said:

"That's not what I meant. Ugh, you... I don't want to talk to you anymore. I can't argue with you. I always fall into your traps..."

She was also incredibly shocked. Was this really the legendary third prince who had a speech impediment?

This guy speaks so fluently, he doesn't sound like someone who can't speak clearly at all.

But it made me unable to speak clearly.

Thinking this way, Zhu Yunwen then said:

"By the way, I didn't know that your identity is..."

The girl looked surprised and said:

"You don't know who I am?"

Zhu Yunwen was speechless for a moment. Although he had integrated some of the memories of Zhu Yunwen in this world, he had not integrated them all.

I didn't really have much of a memory of this so-called fiancée, so I made up an excuse:

"I suddenly fell seriously ill before, a terrible disease that brought me back from the brink of death. I lost many memories, and I have also changed a bit. Please forgive me."

"Oh, I see." The girl suddenly realized.

She continued, "I am Zhao Qingzhu, the daughter of Zhao Sili, the military commander. Let's consider this our first meeting, since you've forgotten who I am. As for me, I've met a completely new you. At least, you're different from the rumors."

Zhu Yunwen nodded slightly and said:

"That makes sense then. But I'm curious, since you're my fiancée, do you still want to marry me?"
