After the combined forces of Goryeo and Dongdo crossed the Yalu River, they were intercepted on the banks of the river by Fu Youde's well-prepared army.
Here, Fu Youde's 200,000-strong army directly confronts the 400,000-strong army of Goryeo and Dongdao.
However, neither side immediately engaged in combat. Instead, they began to deploy their battle plans within a certain distance.
Inside a large tent within the combined military camp of Goryeo and Dongdo, the Dongdo princess addressed the King of Goryeo:
"Currently, the northern lands only have 200,000 Ming troops led by Fu Youde, which is half the size of our 400,000 troops."
So they are definitely no match for us. I mean, we should act immediately, in case they have other troops to reinforce them.
Upon hearing this, the King of Goryeo nodded in agreement.
But Zhu Yunwen spoke up again:
"Before the actual fighting begins, I can try to persuade Fu Youde to surrender to us directly."
Upon hearing this, Princess Dongdao's eyes lit up, and she said to Zhu Yunwen:
Will he listen to you? What are the chances?
Zhu Yunwen remained silent for a moment before speaking:
"Although few military generals are willing to support me, if I offer them some benefits, they might be tempted."
Despite a slight disappointment, the princess of the Eastern Island Kingdom agreed to let Zhu Yunwen make a pre-battle pep talk to see if Fu Youde could be persuaded to submit, even if there was only a one percent chance.
If successful, it would greatly increase the chances of their plan succeeding.
Therefore, they decided to launch a formal attack on the Ming Dynasty once the soldiers had rested and recuperated.
Meanwhile, Fu Youde, who had also set up camp on the opposite side, was not in a hurry at all.
He wasn't worried about giving the Eastern Island Kingdom and the Korean Kingdom a chance to catch their breath, because even if they were well-rested, they would still be no match for the army under Fu Youde's command.
Because while the Korean and Dongdao countries were planning how to use their 400,000 troops to defeat Fu Youde's 200,000 troops.
Fu Youde, however, was planning how to use their muskets and cannons to blast the 400,000-strong army into nothingness.
Meanwhile, to the south, in Yuanyang County, Zhu Yunwen was in charge of the county government.
He also heard the news that the Eastern Island Kingdom and the Goryeo Kingdom in the north had finally joined forces to attack the northern part of the Ming Dynasty.
Upon hearing this news, Zhu Yunwen remained completely calm, simply smiling and saying:
"So, you've finally come here to die?"
Below, Mu Chun impatiently said to Zhu Yunwen:
"Your Highness, our Great Ming Dynasty is now besieged on both sides. What should we do?"
How about this, you hurry up and go to the north to take charge of the situation there, after all, the strength of Goryeo and Dongdao is not to be underestimated.
As for this land of Yunnan, I will entrust it to you to guard. I will certainly not disappoint His Highness the Crown Prince.
Seeing Mu Chun's worry, Zhu Yunwen couldn't help but smile and say:
“You don’t need to be so nervous. Didn’t I say before that the reason I went to Yunnan and personally came to this pass was to create an opportunity for those guys in the north?”
Now that they've finally made their move, they've achieved my goal. Everything is under my control, so why should I worry?
Ke Muchun was still quite worried and said to Zhu Yunwen:
"But Your Highness, the enemy in the north is said to have amassed an army of 400,000, and the court has not taken any action. Doesn't this just give them an even greater opportunity?"
Zhu Yunwen said with a smile:
"Don't worry, everything is under my control."
Seeing that Zhu Yunwen still insisted on saying this, Mu Chun was still worried, but she didn't say anything more.
He still decided to trust Zhu Yunwen, after all, this god-like man had always been the one to create miracles.
Thinking this to myself, I relaxed. Just then, a general hurriedly stepped forward and said:
"Your Highness, the Crown Prince..."
Mu Chun immediately spoke up:
"explain!"
The general then continued:
“Anlan Kingdom has suddenly increased its military strength, but all of these troops are scattered and continue to harass other villages on the border of the Ming Dynasty. Many of our soldiers have already gone to support these villages.”
However, a relatively large village was suddenly attacked by a large number of Annamite soldiers. They surrounded the entire village, but apparently hadn't harmed the villagers yet.
Mu Chun, after all, was a general who had guarded the border for many years. After a brief moment of thought, he immediately said to Zhu Yunwen:
"I understand. They deliberately concentrated their forces in one place to massacre a large village and make things bigger."
The purpose of this is to draw the soldiers around us to quickly relieve the large village, thus leaving other areas vulnerable.
They will choose one of these locations and allow their army to advance unimpeded. They intend to force us to reveal our weaknesses, Your Highness, you must not fall for their trap.
Even if a rescue operation were to be launched against this village, only a small number of troops from the nearby armies could be dispatched.
Otherwise, if a large number of soldiers were mobilized from the surrounding areas, leaving gaps in the border checkpoints, they could take advantage of the situation and attack.
Hearing Mu Chun say this, Zhu Yunwen narrowed his eyes and then said:
"The soldiers stationed at the border checkpoints shall remain stationary for the time being."
