In general, Chechi Kingdom is no match for the Ming Dynasty. However, due to Chechi Kingdom's growing strength in recent years, the prince of Chechi Kingdom has become somewhat blinded by the belief that Chechi Kingdom truly deserves to be compared to the Ming Dynasty.
Putting aside the past, the Ming Dynasty was already very powerful. Now, the Ming Dynasty has reached a point where it is in this era.
It is a level that no single country, or even all of them combined, can surpass.
It's not comparable to the mere Kingdom of Chechi. Zhu Yunwen had this confidence, and he was even more confident than the prince of Chechi.
Unfortunately, the prince of Chechi Kingdom still couldn't see the true nature of things. He thought Chechi Kingdom was very powerful, so he set his sights on the Ming Dynasty and Zhu Yunwen, always trying to gain some advantage to prove that Chechi Kingdom was on par with the Ming Dynasty.
However, Zhu Yunwen did not take the Chechi Kingdom seriously and bluntly pointed out that the prince of Chechi Kingdom was not qualified to sit with him.
This angered the prince of Chechi Kingdom, who said to Zhu Yunwen:
"What is it that gives you the confidence to say such things? My Chechi Kingdom is a major power in the west, how come we are not worthy to sit with you?"
Zhu Yunwen slowly turned his head, looking at the prince of Chechi Kingdom with a haughty gaze, and said:
"You ask me why your prince of Chechi Kingdom is not worthy to sit with me? Fine, then I will tell you."
Even a small country like yours is surrounded by countries that are all subservient to my Great Ming.
They were all vassal states of the Ming Dynasty, bowing down to the Ming and obeying its every command.
"A small country like yours is at best comparable in strength to the vassal states surrounding my Great Ming Dynasty. How dare you compare yourself to me?"
The prince of Chechi Kingdom turned pale; these words left him speechless once again.
Because they all knew about the Ming Dynasty, and they also knew that some of the countries surrounding the Ming Dynasty were indeed extremely subservient to it.
Small neighboring countries, such as Goryeo and Annam, all regarded the Ming Dynasty as their suzerain state.
The kingdoms of Goryeo and Annam are roughly on the same level as Chechi.
However, these countries of similar standing submitted to the Ming Dynasty because they were located near it.
If Chechi Kingdom also gets close to the Ming Dynasty, wouldn't it also have to submit to the Ming Dynasty?
If that's the case, then the prince of Chechi Kingdom is truly nothing in front of Zhu Yunwen.
After all, even the kings of some of the vassal states near the Ming Dynasty had to kneel and pay homage to Zhu Yunwen, let alone the princes of those countries, whose status was even lower.
This was the first time Zhu Yunwen had been so high-profile since arriving in Baoxiang Kingdom, and it was also the first time he had uttered such domineering words.
However, his high profile made everyone present feel that it was quite reasonable.
Because the Ming Dynasty truly possessed such power, and because it was indeed the suzerain state of many small countries, whose kings had to perform the rites of a subject before Zhu Yunwen.
What about the princes of these small countries?
At least some of the princes and princesses present felt that they were indeed far inferior to Zhu Yunwen, and their rank was not high enough.
They also firmly believed that if their country was aligned with the Ming Dynasty, then they would have no choice but to submit to the Ming Dynasty.
This is an indisputable fact, and even if some princes feel embarrassed, they have to accept it in their hearts.
The prince of Chechi Kingdom understood this principle, but he still felt unconvinced.
Because the national strength of Chechi Kingdom has doubled, he believes that since it has doubled, it must be able to rival the Ming Dynasty.
So he stood up, pointed at Zhu Yunwen, and said:
“Times have changed. After our Chechi Kingdom conquered Gaochang Kingdom, our national strength and power have doubled. We are now the largest country among the many countries in the west. Do you think we are not comparable to you?”
Zhu Yunwen glanced disdainfully at the prince of Chechi Kingdom, smiled, and said:
"A frog at the bottom of a well, how can it know how vast the world is? It's just self-righteousness!"
The prince of Chechi Kingdom gritted his teeth and said:
"Okay, tonight is a gathering for everyone. Our countries will all be showcasing some of our unique features."
Some distinctive features can showcase a nation's strength. Then you'll see just how different the Ming Dynasty truly is.
And what kind of things will surpass us by so much? We'll wait and see!
Zhu Yunwen took a deep breath and said:
"Then let's wait and see. You have to believe me. You'll be amazed when the time comes."
The prince of Chechi Kingdom snorted, then flicked his sleeve and sat down.
At this moment, the King of Baoxiang Kingdom slowly walked to the main hall and sat down. Then, he smiled and nodded to the nearly ten princes and princesses present, saying:
"I am very pleased that you all have come to attend this gathering of princes and princesses from various countries, hosted by my Baoxiang Kingdom. It is also an honor for my Baoxiang Kingdom."
The princes and princesses merely gave slight bows as a sign of politeness. At this moment, the King of Baoxiang looked down at the princes and princesses, but did not find Zhu Yunwen in the most conspicuous position, and frowned.
Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that Zhu Yunwen was actually sitting at the very back of all the princes and princesses.
He was immediately puzzled, and then said:
"Why is this place so chaotic?"
The prince of Chechi Kingdom frowned and asked:
