The palace built by Zhu Yunwen was located on a very prosperous street in the imperial palace area.
When Zhu Yunwen arrived, he found the surroundings to be very lively, as the area was located in a bustling city.
The palace that Zhu Yuanzhang built for him was very large.
It even surpasses the scale of many princely mansions.
This also shows how much Zhu Yuanzhang valued his grandson.
After such a long period of time, the construction of the Prince's Mansion has taken shape.
This appears to have originally been a mansion, and Zhu Yunwen's palace was an expansion built upon this mansion.
So the repair speed is quite fast.
Standing outside the construction site, Zhu Yunwen could easily imagine the future grandeur and magnificence of the palace.
He smiled helplessly, feeling that Zhu Yuanzhang had made a mountain out of a molehill by giving him such a fine palace.
After all, he believed that he would become emperor in the future.
No matter how well the prince's mansion is built, it's useless; he will eventually have to live in the palace.
Just as he stood there in a daze, an official dressed in the robes of a sixth-rank official walked over with a frown on his face.
He held a whip in his hand, lashed it into the air with a cracking sound, and then rebuked Zhu Yunwen:
"Get away from here. This is a construction site. No unauthorized personnel are allowed near it."
Zhu Yuntong didn't pay too much attention to it at first; it was normal for some officials to be arrogant and domineering.
After all, he's an official.
So Zhu Yunwen turned around, wanting to leave?
This palace will be repaired sooner or later; it's not too late to move in and explore it properly.
However, he had only turned around and taken two steps when he suddenly heard the sound of a whip cracking behind him again.
Unlike before, this time the whip was not striking the air, but hitting a person's body.
At the same time, a scream was also heard.
Zhu Yunwen frowned and turned to look.
It turned out that the same sixth-rank official was whipping a boy who looked no more than eleven or twelve years old hard on the back.
The boy was shirtless and wearing a pair of patched pants.
His body was covered in whip marks, even his face.
The small figure gritted his teeth and struggled to lift a thick log.
The thick log and his small figure formed a stark contrast.
That was clearly not something an eleven or twelve-year-old boy could lift.
But he persisted, his scarred shoulders straining to lift the log.
Then, with faltering steps, he walked away into the distance.
However, the minor official, dressed in the robes of a sixth-rank official, still raised his whip, cursing angrily, and lashed it down:
"You little brat, what use are you, working so slowly? If you continue to be this incompetent, believe me, I'll beat you to death right here!"
The whip ripped through the air and lashed fiercely at the small figure.
Zhu Yunwen frowned.
One of the Imperial Guards beside him immediately understood Zhu Yunwen's meaning. With a flash, he suddenly appeared next to the minor official and forcefully grabbed the official's waving hand.
The whip missed its mark, and instead, someone grabbed her hand.
The minor official was instantly enraged. He turned to look at the Imperial Guards dressed in ordinary clothes beside him and roared:
"You bastard, who are you?"
The Imperial Guard gripped the official's hand tightly. At this moment, Zhu Yunwen stepped forward, his face grim, and said:
"What an overbearing official! Who gave you the right to act so ruthlessly and arrogantly here?"
The official in the sixth-rank robes looked at Zhu Yunwen with a fierce expression and said:
"Boy, tell your men to let go of his dog paws, or I'll make you regret it."
Zhu Yunwen's face darkened, and the Imperial Guard who was holding the sixth-rank official guard slapped him hard with his other hand.
With a loud slap, the minor official's face instantly swelled up, and he screamed in pain, saying:
"You...you actually dared to assault an official of the imperial court? You're all dead! Guards, guards..."
At his loud rebuke, several officials dressed in black robes immediately surrounded him, each holding a whip.
Some of the officials' whips were even stained with blood, which suggests that they had probably used them to whip many of the workers who worked in the palace.
Zhu Yunwen ignored the official and instead looked around carefully at the people working on the construction site.
That's when he realized that there wasn't just one young child, but most of them.
It was rare to see any adults, but they were all elderly, weak, sick, or disabled.
Even a normal adult doesn't have that.
This shocked Zhu Yunwen immensely. This huge construction site, this massive project, was being worked on by the elderly, children, the sick, and the disabled.
In a fit of rage, he snatched the whip from the sixth-rank official's hand, and without a word, lashed him twice, then shouted:
"Why is this royal project being done entirely by the elderly, children, and the sick and disabled?"
The lowly sixth-rank official, his face twitching from the beating, still spouted nonsense:
"You bastard...you dare hit me? Look closely, I'm a sixth-rank official in the Ministry of Revenue of the Imperial Court, how dare you..."
Before he could finish speaking, Zhu Yuntong lashed his mouth with a whip.
The intense pain rendered the official speechless.
He covered his mouth and kept making muffled noises. Seeing this, the other minor officials around him hurriedly pushed their whips to attack Zhu Yunwen.
