Chapter 417 Has the Ming Dynasty Changed Again?

When the people of Chechi Kingdom learned of the deaths of their king and prince, most of them were even somewhat happy.

The reason is quite simple: during their reigns, the king and prince of Chechi Kingdom failed to properly develop the kingdom.

On the contrary, they implemented various tyrannical policies, causing the people to suffer greatly and filled with complaints.

In this situation, their deaths were even something to be happy about for most ordinary people.

Especially after the people learned about the actions of the King and Prince of Chechi Kingdom, they felt that His Majesty the King and His Highness the Prince had brought shame upon Chechi Kingdom.

Therefore, under these circumstances, the officials of Chechi Kingdom collectively chose a wiser ruler.

This newly elected king seems to have learned from the mistakes of the previous king of Chechi Kingdom.

The first thing he did upon taking office was to personally go to the Ming Dynasty to apologize.

After all, it was their fault from beginning to end. Although the King and Prince of Chechi Kingdom are now dead, they have paid the price for their shameful and hateful behavior.

However, the relationship between the Ming Dynasty and the Chechi Kingdom was still quite awkward.

So the newly enthroned king is determined to ease this awkward situation.

Therefore, the new king of Chechi Kingdom set a schedule to go to the Ming Dynasty to apologize for what had happened before.

At the same time, they wanted to re-establish cooperation with the Ming Dynasty in various aspects, just like other countries.

This idea is quite nice, but it also has its merits.

After all, it was the previous king of Chechi Kingdom who had a conflict with the Ming Dynasty, and it was also the previous prince of Chechi Kingdom who became enemies with Zhu Yunwen of the Ming Dynasty.

Now that they have been killed by Zhu Yunwen and Zhu Yuanzhang, the new King of Chechi Kingdom theoretically has no enmity with the Ming Dynasty.

The entire Chechi Kingdom has relatively little animosity towards the Ming Dynasty, so it's not impossible for them to reach a cooperative agreement.

The newly enthroned King of Chechi Kingdom was a man of action; once he made a decision, he immediately headed towards the Ming Dynasty.

As luck would have it, the king and prince of the neighboring Kingdom of Zhu Zi were also preparing to make a trip to the Ming Dynasty.

Because they also want to engage in deeper cooperation.

Previously, the king of Zhu Zi Kingdom had reprimanded the prince of Zhu Zi Kingdom because the prince of Zhu Zi Kingdom had once clung to the leg of the prince of Che Chi Kingdom and offended Zhu Yunwen.

Upon receiving news that the king and prince of Chechi Kingdom had been killed, the king of Zhu Zi Kingdom was also somewhat frightened.

After all, Zhu Zi Kingdom was the only one among the western kingdoms, besides Che Chi Kingdom, that had offended the Ming Dynasty.

Now that the Ming Dynasty has shown such a tough stance, even killing the King of Chechi and the Prince of Chechi.

Naturally, this also made the King and Prince of Zhu Zi Kingdom fearful.

So they decided to personally visit the Ming Dynasty to explain the past events to them.

They indicated that they had no deep-seated hatred towards the Ming Dynasty and hoped to have more interactions in the future.

And so, the kings of these two countries encountered the king of the Kingdom of Zhu Zi on the road.

Upon meeting the new king of Chechi Kingdom, he gave a bitter smile and said:

"A person can make one mistake after another. If it weren't for the fact that the former prince of Chechi Kingdom insisted on going against the Crown Prince of the Ming Dynasty, he probably wouldn't have ended up like this."

This also implicated the entire Chechi Kingdom. Fortunately, the Ming Dynasty only killed the father and son and did not vent its anger on the entire Chechi Kingdom. Otherwise, if war had broken out, the Chechi Kingdom would have been finished.

Although there was a hint of schadenfreude in his words, the new king of Chechi Kingdom had to admit it, and sighed, saying:

"Chechi Kingdom has always been powerful among the western kingdoms, so the previous king and prince were completely unaware of the strength of the Ming Dynasty, which is why they sowed such a terrible seed. It almost dragged the entire Chechi Kingdom down with them and made them pay the price."

The King of Zhu Zi Kingdom said, "Fortunately, our Zhu Zi Kingdom didn't go down the wrong path. We pulled back from the brink in time, otherwise we would have ended up like your Che Chi Kingdom. Otherwise, I really wouldn't know what to do."

The new king of Chechi Kingdom sighed again, and then said to the king of Zhu Zi Kingdom:

"Actually, your trip to the Ming Dynasty in person was indeed making a mountain out of a molehill. The Ming Dynasty did not take your previous offenses to heart, otherwise they would not have established cooperation with you."

The King of Zhu Zi Kingdom immediately replied:

"It's better to be cautious, after all, we've offended them before. The former king and prince of Chechi Kingdom have already paid a heavy price, we can't follow in their footsteps."

And so, the king of Xinchechi Kingdom and the king and prince of Zhuzi Kingdom chatted all the way, and thus arrived in the territory of the Ming Dynasty without feeling lonely.

Although they had heard of the things of the Ming Dynasty before, this was the first time that the two kings had seen the true situation of the Ming Dynasty.

Wherever they went, they were astonished by the diverse lives of the people they encountered.

"Is this really the human world? Isn't this paradise? Look at the happy smiles on the faces of those working people. The seeds they have sown have brought them an infinitely wonderful harvest."
