King Arikunar of Ceylon laughed heartily, then looked at Ma Sanbao and said:
“Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. I’ve heard that the Ming Dynasty is very strong, but my Kingdom of Ceylon is so far away from the Ming Dynasty. Do you really think that your Ming Dynasty can scare me?”
Don't think that just because you brought a few thousand soldiers, you can cause any damage to my Ceylon Kingdom. That's just wishful thinking.
"You must know that my Kingdom of Ceylon has over 20,000 soldiers. How could your 5,000 possibly withstand my 20,000?"
Upon hearing this, Ma Sanbao laughed, thinking to himself that they were indeed from different dimensions, making communication somewhat difficult.
The other side has no idea how powerful they are, while they themselves can hardly imagine how far behind the other side has fallen.
This information gap between them has led to the weaker party becoming incredibly powerful.
Various kinds of self-righteousness.
The King of Ceylon was a prime example; with a confident smile on his face, he thought the enemy's five thousand soldiers were nothing.
However, at this moment, a guard, with a grim expression, cautiously said to King Arikunar:
"Your Majesty, all ten thousand soldiers sent out from outside the city have been killed in action; almost none survived."
King Aerys's expression changed, and he said with disbelief:
"What? They're all dead? How is that possible? Five thousand against ten thousand, and those ten thousand are all dead? And their five thousand soldiers are completely unharmed? Do you think I'm a fool?"
The guard also explained cautiously:
"Your Majesty, the corpses are right at the city gate. You can't deny it..."
Areknael's face darkened, and he immediately roared:
"Men, gather all 15,000 soldiers stationed outside the city. Make sure to wipe out all these damned Ming soldiers."
Upon hearing the order, some officials and guards outside the palace quickly prepared to relay the message.
However, Ma Sanbao did not stop the guards who were delivering the message from leaving.
He wanted to make the king feel despair, so he wanted to wipe out all of the king's remaining soldiers in front of him, so that he would understand the power of the Ming Dynasty.
However, their actions were seen as somewhat ridiculous by the Kingdom of Ceylon.
Because they thought that these people from the Ming Dynasty were too stupid to let them go and call for reinforcements.
This is absolutely stupid. Once their reinforcements arrive, the situation could be completely reversed.
Wouldn't that just make them look bad?
Thinking of this, the King of Ceylon already showed a smug smile. He glanced at Ma Sanbao and thought the people of the Ming Dynasty were too stupid. Thus, the two sides were once again at a stalemate.
Time passed slowly, and after about 15 minutes, a large army from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) rapidly approached.
There are approximately 10,000 people, which is all the troops that the Kingdom of Ceylon can currently mobilize.
Once all these people arrived, they quickly surrounded the Ming soldiers again.
Then the King of Ceylon laughed heartily and said:
"Fools of the Ming Dynasty, did you not expect this? Did you think we in Ceylon didn't have these soldiers? Now we have more than 10,000 more soldiers, and we have surrounded you. Surrender now!"
However, Ma Sanbao remained unusually calm, glanced at the King of Ceylon with a mocking look, and then said:
"Have your soldiers from Ceylon already arrived?"
The King of Ceylon snorted and said:
"What, you still don't think that's enough? Our soldiers in Ceylon are all brave and skilled in battle, and now our numbers are three times yours. Do you think you can still cause any trouble? It seems that the Ming Dynasty is nothing special after all."
"Today, I will annihilate your five thousand Ming soldiers, then I will lead my main army to reorganize and sail across the ocean to your Ming Dynasty, and rule it. Then, I will dominate the world."
The King of Ceylon spoke words that sounded like daydreams, but he clearly did not realize how embarrassing his situation was.
Ma Sanbao was too lazy to waste words; he was going to shatter the Ceylon King's daydream with concrete actions.
So Ma Sanbao said to the five thousand soldiers:
"Get ready. Someone is so disrespectful to our Great Ming. Let them see your strength and understand the power of our Great Ming."
Upon hearing this, the soldiers all took out their muskets.
Some simply set up lightweight rocket launchers.
The soldiers of Ceylon were all bewildered by what they saw, clearly having no idea what was going on.
However, at Ma Sanbao's command, the muskets began to fire, and the rocket launchers fired shell after shell.
A series of crackling and booming sounds rang out, and in the densely packed area of soldiers, they were blown to pieces by the cannon fire.
In areas with fewer soldiers, countless people were killed or wounded under the barrage of musket fire.
In this way, the precise strikes, executed with specialized expertise, were almost fatal to the soldiers of Ceylon.
The soldiers were caught off guard by the sudden, unannounced attack.
Then they immediately launched a counterattack, but their counterattack seemed utterly ridiculous.
Because the weapons they were carrying were long, curved swords, which, while capable of causing some damage at close range.
However, they were still some distance from the Ming soldiers, and if they got too close, they would be mowed down by the Ming soldiers and die before they even reached them.
