Aunt Qiao waited until late at night for Luo Yilian to come back. As soon as she came back, she threw herself on the small table and cried.
Aunt Qiao was making clothes for Luo Xuanyuan. Seeing this, she hurried forward to comfort her: "What happened to my son?"
The maid who accompanied her also cried with the Sixth Miss and told what happened to Aunt Qiao.
Aunt Qiao was furious when she heard this: "This witch bullies us just because she sees that my mother and I are alone and helpless! If it were..." If it were when she was in favor, how could Lin Hairu dare to treat Luo Yilian like this.
"Mother, I just can't stand this..." Luo Yilian raised her head, her face as beautiful as a mermaid under the moon, tears like pearls. Seeing this, Aunt Qiao's heart softened. Her daughter was so beautiful, she must marry into a good family.
"I am also a lady in the family. How does she treat me? Even a servant girl bullies me..." Luo Yilian became more and more angry as she spoke, and she couldn't stop crying.
"Go tell your father," Aunt Qiao said, "even though mother is old and ugly, she still loves you."
"I just told her, and then that witch abused me even more. I'm too lazy to tell her anymore! My father doesn't often care about the affairs of the rear house, and if I tell him too much he'll find you annoying..." Luo Yilian cried intermittently.
Aunt Qiao felt sorry for her daughter. She gently stroked her back and said through gritted teeth, "Mother will find you a good husband. Just wait. When the time comes, they will be afraid of you and will all come to please you."
Luo Yilian cried in her mother's arms, feeling that nothing in the world went as she wished.

After Yi Ning returned, Luo Shenyuan was reading a memorial under the candlelight. Hearing her return, he handed the memorial to the maidservant and went straight to the bathroom to take a bath. Yi Ning sat down, thinking she had nothing else to do, so she simply took a brush from his pen holder, moistened it with ink, and spread out paper to write a letter to the Duke of Yingguo to let him know she was safe.
Luo Shenyuan emerged half an incense stick later. His profile was handsome in the candlelight. He was damp from his bath, and his chest, slightly exposed through his undershirt, was firm. In fact, compared to Daoyan, he looked more like the martial artist. He approached and asked, "What are you writing?"
Yining looked up at Luo Shenyuan, whose long eyelashes, like black tail feathers, were drooping.
"Report your safety to your father, so he won't worry." Yining said. She said, "Oh, by the way, your pen is too thick, it's hard to write with."
"You're using my brush, and you're actually looking down on it?" Luo Shenyuan took her brush away and blew out the candle on the table. "Go take a shower and go to bed. You're not well yet, so you need to stay healthy."
Yining was hugged by him and forced to go to sleep, but she paused and suddenly said, "Third brother, don't you want to know what happened these days?"
Luo Shenyuan was silent, then sighed. Of course he wanted to know; in fact, he was almost jealous, after all, he was very possessive of Yi Ning. But he didn't want to force her. She had returned from Lu Jiaxue's place in such a state of disgrace, with a high fever. He couldn't bear to force her to answer questions about things that had upset her.
"When you've rested well and are ready to tell me, you'll naturally tell me." Luo Shenyuan leaned over and said, "Go to sleep. I still need to read some memorials."
But Yi Ning stopped him as he was about to leave: "I'm going to tell you now."
Luo Shenyuan paused for a moment.
Yi Ning then said, "Actually, there's nothing. Lu Jiaxue is just a lunatic. He just took me to your senior brother to have my fortune told."
Luo Shenyuan smiled, inexplicably finding her words amusing. He said, "Well, I'll go read the memorial then."
Seeing his back disappear, Yining felt that she had made herself clear, so she closed her eyes and prepared to go to sleep.
It was late at night when Luo Shenyuan came in to rest.
A bright red brocade quilt depicting mandarin ducks playing in the water was inlaid with a white embroidered border. Inside, there were bright red sash curtains with gilded hooks. This exquisitely crafted, double-deep bed, with hangings and canopies draped with woven gold yarn and bright red silk curtains with dark patterns, was dimly lit by the candlelight.
He hasn't had his wedding night yet.
Luo Shenyuan was afraid that the candlelight would disturb her, so he went outside to extinguish it.
He didn't lie down to sleep until he came back. They slept in separate blankets, and Yi Ning wrapped herself up like a silkworm chrysalis, but after a while she became restless.
Yi Ning couldn't sleep well in a dark room, so she always left a light on in her lamplighter. The maids who served her knew this habit, but Luo Shenyuan didn't.
Silkworm chrysalis Yining struggled with her bedding, dreaming of a dark cliff, gloomy and deserted. She struggled again, and then she bumped into something soft, firm. It seemed to stiffen slightly, but Yining felt at ease. Perhaps the scent was so familiar. The dream faded, and the silkworm chrysalis Yining stopped struggling.
The next morning, the first light of the day came through the partition. Yining was still asleep when she was awakened by the creaking sound of a door opening.
She realized that she was no longer in her original bed, but was now tucked into Luo Shenyuan's blanket, hugging his strong waist and leaning against his chest. Yi Ning was startled because Luo Shenyuan was looking at her with his eyes downcast. She sat up suddenly.
Yining was a little afraid to look at him, so she turned her head and looked at the white light outside the window.
Luo Shenyuan stood up and dressed. A maid came in and helped him put on his unlined robe, a red silk robe, a solemn court robe, and a five-beam crown.
"I woke up this morning... in your bed." Yining said suddenly.
"You came here on your own." Luo Shenyuan's mouth curled slightly, "I didn't want to hold you while sleeping, but you couldn't pull away."
Luo Yining heard this and said, "I know it was me. I just want to ask you..."
Of course she slept soundly, she just wanted to ask him if he was used to it. If he was, she would like to continue sleeping like this. It was very fragrant and sweet.
