Yi Ning thought for a moment and said, "Since Bao Ge'er is the eldest son, he follows the generation name 'Ze'. So why not call him Ze Yuan?"
Luo Shenyuan listened, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly: "Aren't you taking it too easy?"
Yi Ning was so angry that she said, "I asked you to marry and you didn't have any idea. So if I marry you, you are not allowed to dislike it."
She felt her soup was almost ready, so she asked the maid to turn off the fire. After letting the residual heat from the stove last for a stick of incense, she could bring it into the house.
"Come with me." Luo Shenyuan took her hand, walking through the corridor and across the courtyard. The guards stood in a row, greeting them and calling them "Master Luo." Yi Ning saw they were already outside his study, and he was leading her inside. On the long desk in the study, a sheet of rice paper was weighed down by a paperweight. He sent the waiter out to fetch a brush from the pen holder and dip it in ink.
"Come on, write down whatever comes to your mind."
Yining took the brush from him and walked to the table. Ink dripped onto the paper, still completely clueless. She wrote a few words while he watched silently from behind. There was no sound in the room. Luo Yining suddenly asked, "Third brother, how do you write the character 鹄 in 鸿鹄?"
Luo Shenyuan hummed, walked forward, reached out and covered her hand from behind, leaned down and said, "Write like this."
After that, he guided her to slowly write the word, applying a little force with his palm.
His right handwriting is not as beautiful as his left.
Their breath was particularly close, and she was held in his arms. Luo Yining turned slightly to the side, letting him hold her tightly.
The study was exceptionally quiet, with snow illuminating the clear sky. Luo Yining suddenly hugged his neck, made him lower his head, and kissed the corner of his mouth. "This is a reward."
She was about to leave, but he seemed to be seduced by her. He suddenly pressed her in his arms and blocked her lips.
The naming process came to nothing, and little Baoger still didn't get his real name. He didn't know it, and waited with his saliva dripping from his mouth for his wet nurse to feed him turtle soup.
That night, the sleeping arrangements were finally made. Baoger slept between his parents, with his father on his left and his mother on his right. Fearing that Luo Shenyuan would crush Baoger, Yining led Baoger to occupy a large area of the bed.
Luo Shenyuan silently looked at the small half of the bed that was assigned to him, and then looked at the little ball that was crawling around and didn't want to sleep at all.
The little boy climbed onto his father's body, clapping his hands. Yining coaxed him, "Bao Ge'er, go kiss Daddy!"
Bao Ge'er crawled over to Luo Shenyuan's head, staring intently at his father. After a moment's uninterested stare, Bao Ge'er wiggled his little butt, turned around, and pounced back on his mother. It wasn't until midnight that he finally felt sleepy and fell asleep in his mother's arms.
Only then did his father reach out and touch his soft neck. "It must have been tough taking care of him for ten months, right?" he asked softly.
"It's fine now. It was only a problem when he was one or two months old." Yining smiled slightly when she thought of the time when Baoger was just born.
"It's better to wean him off the breast soon, and then leave him to the wet nurse. You won't have to work so hard," Luo Shenyuan continued. He wanted to help, but he was lucky the little thing wasn't afraid of him, let alone coaxed by him. He was clearly his son, yet he didn't give him the slightest bit of respect.
Yi Ning looked at him. Luo Shenyuan sighed and said, "After all, you can't sleep well with a child."
Luo Yining felt that... she couldn't sleep well without her child.
"Tell me about what happened in Jinling." Luo Shenyuan pulled her closer. "I wasn't by your side when you gave birth to him. Was it difficult back then?" He patted her slowly, as if to comfort her.
The little boy was wearing a plump little jacket and lying between his parents, chewing his little fist and sleeping soundly.
It seems that the years are very peaceful.
