Chapter 63

Children have very short memories. Aunt Qiao was distraught but she had to put on a smile.

When Yining wrote these things to her elder sister Luo Yihui, her elder sister wrote back to her.

She was bringing back the youngest son, Yu'er, who was now three years old and had grown to be white, plump, and tender. Yi Ning was delighted at the thought of meeting her nephew, and she wrote to her elder sister, "...it just so happens that mother misses you too! I also want to see how big Yu'er has grown."

Lin Hairu started to get nervous again after hearing this. She was still a little scared every time she thought about this eldest daughter.

On the day Luo Yihui returned, the second house began preparing early. Yining went to the screen wall to pick up her elder sister, but saw two carriages, one in front and one behind. Luo Yihui emerged from the front carriage, holding Xuan Ge'er in her arms. The curtain of the rear carriage was drawn after a long while.

A young woman emerged, wearing a red silk jacket embroidered with gold tapestry and a golden necklace. Luo Yihui smiled and said to Yining, "This is Miss Mingzhu, the niece of Duke Yingguo. She came with me to Baoding to play."

Yining looked at the girl for a long time, and suddenly she felt an indescribable sense of familiarity.

Zhao Mingzhu raised her head and smiled, her voice clear and crisp: "Are you Sister Hui's sister?"

Although he didn't say anything, his tone was condescending. He must have been pampered since childhood.

Luo Yihui whispered in Yining's ear, "Ms. Mingzhu's cousin is Lord Cheng Langcheng. She grew up in the Duke of Ying's mansion, where there were no girls. The Madam Dowager likes her very much, and the Duke of Ying also dotes on her. Commander Lu and the Duke of Ying are close friends, so he adopted her as his daughter. We can't neglect her easily... She said she was bored in the Duke's mansion, so she insisted on following me here."

Yining felt dazed and couldn't speak for a long time.

It turned out to be her. No wonder she felt familiar.
