Chapter 97

Chapter 97

A small stove was placed in the side room for making tea, and Zhenzhu brought her a cup. This place was elegantly decorated, used as a place to cool off during the summer heat, but since it wasn't hot yet, it wasn't used much, having only been spruced up a few days ago. The tea room hadn't been furnished yet.

But the view was stunning. Outside the window, bamboo trees lined the landscape, and below lay the rippling lake, now covered in bowl-sized water lilies. A parting bamboo curtain revealed a corner of the stage on the Fangshan side. Looking directly across, I could see the shimmering lake, and the gentle breeze was incredibly pleasant.

Yi Ning leaned against the pillow of the chaise longue, feeling a throbbing pain in her head. The wind made the pain worse. She didn't even bother to take in the scenery and asked Zhenzhu to close the bamboo curtain.

Zhenzhu brought her some tea and said worriedly, "Why don't I ask Miss Qingqu to come and see you..." She could see that the pain was getting worse.

I heard that little Yining's biological mother also had this migraine problem, but her elder sister didn't, yet she had it again. Yining covered her forehead and sighed, "It's just a headache medicine. It doesn't cure the root cause. Forget it. I'll just get a good sleep." She let Zhenzhu go first.

When Zhenzhu came out, she saw two young girls, who had just grown their hair, playing with a crocheted string game at the foot of the stairs. When the girls saw Zhenzhu, they were so frightened they stood at attention. Zhenzhu was afraid they would disturb Yining's rest, so she scolded them, saying, "Stop playing! Go outside the yard and keep watch."

She called two maids from the side room and prepared to have them row a boat to pick some lotus buds.

The two little girls went to guard the door obediently, and then Zhenzhu took the two maids out. Not long after they left, Shen Yu came here. He saw the two little girls standing at the door and asked them with a smile: "Is your lady resting inside?"

One of the little girls nodded and asked him lively, "Who are you?"

"Mr. Shen from the Zhongqin family."

The other maid was a bit more timid. Upon hearing the name of the Zhongqin Marquis's family, she hurriedly tugged at her companion's sleeve and said, "Master Chen! Our young lady is resting in there. Sister Zhenzhu said we can't disturb her. Is there something important you want to talk to her about? How about I let you know!"

"No need." Shen Yu smiled and said, "I just need to say a few words to her. Since she is resting, you don't need to pass on the message, so as not to disturb her rest and blame you."

The two little girls had been serving in the side room, doing only simple chores. It was not easy for them to speak a few words to the young master of the Zhongqin family, so how could they understand anything else? They had heard that the Zhongqin family had close ties with their family, so they did not dare to stop Shen Yu. They bowed and said, "Master Shen, please call me if you have any instructions." Then they let Shen Yu in.

There was a burner of incense burning in the side room.

When I have a migraine, I am particularly sensitive to sounds and smells. The gardenia scent that I usually smell fresh and elegant no longer smells good.

Yi Ning held her forehead and sat up. She called out to Zhenzhu twice, but no one answered. She had no choice but to go and get the incense burner herself. As soon as she stood up, she felt a dizzy pain and stumbled. She stumbled and could hardly stand. Unexpectedly, someone immediately caught her in a half-hug and asked gently, "Sister Yi Ning, what's wrong?"

Yi Ning regained some consciousness and found that the person holding her was Shen Yu!

She immediately took a step away in shock, and thinking that he was the one who caught her, she forced a smile and said, "Brother Shen Yu, you...why are you here?"

Shen Yuqing's pretty face showed a slight smile. He took a step closer and said, "Sister Yining, I was abrupt when I asked my mother to come and ask for marriage last time. Don't be afraid... I came to you to make things clear."

He saw Yi Ning, barely clinging to the armrest of the chaise longue, her delicate body leaning against it. Her lips, seemingly redder from her illness, appeared even more vibrant than usual, and her plump chest rose and fell slightly, making it impossible to look away. Furthermore, she was so fragile that she couldn't resist him at all. He could do anything to her...

Thinking of this, Shen Yu seemed to be in a kind of trance. The Duke of England didn't want him to marry her, but he obviously liked her so much.

If she was really forced to be with him, then no matter how much the Duke of England objected, he would not be able to stop it.

Yi Ning felt that Shen Yu was a little dangerous. He slowly approached her, his expression gradually deepening. She leaned against the wall with no way to retreat, and called out "Zhenzhu", but no one answered her. Yi Ning was a little panicked and was about to rush out, but Shen Yu grabbed her wrist and covered her mouth. She was pressed into his arms. Yi Ning wanted to struggle, but she was weak to begin with, and Shen Yu easily held her down.

"Sister Yining! Don't worry, I like you." Shen Yu said impatiently in her ear, "Don't shout, I will treat you well in the future..."

Is Shen Yu crazy? Yi Ning wanted to slap him, but he pressed down immediately. In her two lives, Yi Ning had never felt the helplessness of such a woman. She only felt that he was forcing her to press down, and his lips were close to her face, almost touching it immediately.

"...let go..." Yining said with difficulty, her mouth covered by him, "I don't like it...don't!"

Shen Yu listened and held her shoulder and said, "You like it!" As long as she became his, they could be together in the future.

Yining only hated herself for being weak, otherwise she would have kicked Shen Yu away long ago. But now she only felt him pressing on her, staring at her, and it seemed that her breathing was gradually getting thicker.

She was unable to struggle, and her heart felt cold and she became more and more scared.

The last black chess piece fell, and the winner was decided.

Although Cheng Lang lost, he was not anxious. He picked up the chess pieces one by one and said, "A few years ago, when I was visiting Baoding, I met a great monk who was an extraordinary chess player. Besides that monk, Lord Luo was the first one to break my chess game."
