Chapter 113 A Perfect Match

Chen Zhen didn't know what He Jinshu was trying to say, but he still asked He Jinshu to help him change into the clothes.

After He Jinshu dressed him, he also changed into the same clothes as Chen Zhen.

After watching He Jinshu change his clothes, Chen Chen said to him, "Ah Shu, I've never seen you wearing such bright clothes. I didn't expect it to look so good. It makes you look more lively."

He Jinshu only smiled faintly when he heard this, then took out a package from the closet, then took Chen Chen's hand and said to him: "Let's go, I'll take you somewhere."

"Where are you going?" Chen Chen asked as he followed him.

He Jinshu didn't answer him, but just led him out of the room. The yard was quiet. Grandpa He and Grandma He had already returned to their room to rest. He Jinshu took him to the kitchen to get a torch, and then took him out of the yard.

"Ashu, where are you taking me in the dark? Are you going to kill me to silence me?" Chen Chen pretended to be terrified and said.

"Don't talk nonsense." He Jinshu scolded softly.

After hearing this, Chen Chen chuckled and said, "I was just joking with you, Ah Shu, don't be so serious."

The two of them said little along the way until He Jinshu brought him to the back of a small hill. Chen Chen couldn't help but exclaimed, "Ah Shu, this place is so beautiful."

Behind the hillside is a small stream, which is surrounded by trees. Lanterns of different colors and shapes are hung on the trees. The warm yellow candlelight illuminates the dark night sky, adding a festive atmosphere to this mountain forest that is about to fall asleep.

There are some lotus lanterns floating in the river, swaying with the water flow, like a girl dancing slowly in the dark night.

"Do you still like it?" He Jinshu looked at Chen Chen and asked.

"Ah Shu, did you come out this afternoon just to do this?" Chen Chen asked with a look of astonishment, looking at He Jinshu with a smile.

It was He Jinshu's first time giving someone a surprise, so he was a little uncomfortable. He coughed lightly and said to Chen Chen, "I hung these lights myself. Do you like them?"

"Of course I like it." Chen Chen kissed him and then said, "You didn't let me go to town, so you prepared a surprise for me here?"

He Jinshu hummed calmly, then said to Chen Chen, "I've drawn some lanterns. You can write your wishes on them and put them in the river."

"Okay, what did you draw?" Chen Chen nodded and asked.

He Jinshu opened the bundle he had brought and said to Chen Chen, "These are all pictures of your and my daily life. Take a look and see which one you like."

"Can't we light all of them?" Chen Chen asked as he took out a lantern from his bag to look at it.

"We have to fish it out after midnight. If we put too much, it will be too difficult for us to fish it out." He Jinshu said.

"They've all been released, why are you fishing them out again?" Chen Chen asked curiously.

"The picture above shows both of us. It would be bad if the villagers saw it."

"What's wrong with that? Just see it, it means we love each other."

"I don't want to be seen."

"Well, I know you're a bit shy, so we'll just fish it out when the lights go out."

Chen Zhen took apart a lantern, and the scene painted on it was in the kitchen. Chen Zhen was gnawing on a chicken wing, while He Jinshu was busy cooking at the stove.

Another one is a rainy day, Shen Zhen is standing under the eaves watching the rain, while He Jinshu lowers his eyes and looks at him gently, with one hand on the back of Shen Zhen's head, touching his head.

Another one was when Chen Zhen dug up a winter bamboo shoot in the bamboo forest. Holding a hoe in his hand, he pointed it out to He Jinshu with a smile on his face and sparkling eyes. He Jinshu bent down to pick up the winter bamboo shoot while looking at Chen Zhen with a smile in his eyes.

There are seven or eight lanterns in total, all depicting the daily lives of Chen Chen and He Jinshu.

After looking at the paintings, Chen Zhen asked, "Ah Shu, how many days did it take you to paint so many paintings?"

"Three days." He Jinshu replied indifferently.

"Then how did you find this place?" Chen Chen asked again.

Chen Zhen had never been here before, and it seemed that few villagers came here either.

"I asked the servants to find it." He Jinshu said.

There was also a river in the village, but he certainly couldn't take Chen Zhen to release river lanterns there, so he asked his servants to find a relatively secluded place with water, and then brought Chen Zhen there to release lanterns, as a way to make up for the regret of not allowing him to go to the town to release lanterns.

Besides, there are only two of them here, so they can do whatever they want without worrying about being crowded.

Upon hearing this, Chen Chen nodded in pretense of satisfaction, then said, "It's okay. Although there are fewer people and it's not very lively, I'm still very happy that Ah Shu surprised me for the first time."

He Jinshu pinched his grumpy face and said to him, "Although I didn't accompany you to see the lanterns this year, I will definitely go with you next year."

"Okay." Chen Chen responded, and then said to He Jinshu: "Ah Shu, I'll hold the torch, you come and write?"

Upon hearing this, He Jinshu handed him the torch, placed the lantern on the wooden stake, and then took out a brush and ink and asked Chen Chen, "Ah Chen, what wish do you want to write?"

After hearing this, Chen Zhen said directly: "Just write that Chen Zhen and He Jinshu will be together forever and never separate."

"Okay." He Jinshu replied.

After writing about Chen Chen, He Jinshu took another lantern and wrote two lines on it: Stay with Chen forever, and grow old together for the rest of our lives.

"Ashu, what are you writing?" Chen Chen asked curiously.

Upon hearing this, He Jinshu read the two lines of words to Chen Chen.

After hearing this, Chen Zhen seemed to have discovered something, and said to He Jinshu with a little pride: "You are more reserved, and I am more straightforward. We are really a perfect match."

After hearing this, He Jinshu smiled faintly, then lit two lanterns, handed one to Chen Chen, and said to him, "Let's go and light the lanterns."

Chen Zhen took the lantern and said okay.

Then the two of them walked to the river and put the lantern into the river.

Watching the lanterns slowly floating in the water, Chen Chen asked He Jinshu, "Ah Shu, do we have to take down the lanterns here later?"

"We don't need to take it down. We can just let the servants take it down tomorrow and take away what I drew." He Jinshu said.

After saying that, he asked Chen Zhen again: "Are you hungry?"

"It's okay, did you bring any food?"

"No, I roasted two beggar chickens here before, and added some wild juice. Do you want to try some?"

"Eat." Chen Chen said, "Such a beautiful night view, let's enjoy it while eating."
