Chapter 153 Entering the main storyline?

"Have you noticed that there have been a lot of mercenaries and adventurers in the World of Warcraft Mountains recently?" A student pointed at several mercenaries who were queuing up to buy drinks outside the Mixue Time Goblin Tribe branch, with curiosity glittering in his eyes.

Another classmate nodded and responded, "Yes, I also saw quite a few adventurers in the Monster Mountain Range. They were scattered in various corners of the forest and mountains. They didn't seem to be hunting monsters, nor were they looking for herbs and alchemical materials. They were just wandering around. I don't know what they were doing."

Several mercenaries stood next to the Mixue Time Goblin Tribe branch, observing this strange place with curious eyes.

I originally thought that the Warcraft Mountains were just an area where dangers and opportunities coexisted, but I didn’t expect that there would be such a warm corner here.

If they had not discovered these students gathered here, they would never have imagined that there was such a pleasant resting area hidden in the mountains.

"I never thought there would be such delicious drinks and marinated meat here!" A mercenary said excitedly, with a greedy smile on his face. "And these goblins can actually communicate with students in a friendly manner, which is really surprising."

Another mercenary looked at the goblins around him and thought to himself, it's really eye-opening that there is such a place. Their eyes kept scanning the menu in the store, which listed a variety of drinks and braised snacks, and even a novel product called "Adventure Insurance".

"Hey, I heard that these goblins also provide adventure insurance." A young mercenary approached his companion, with a hint of curiosity in his eyes, "Do you think this insurance is reliable?"

"Who knows? We don't need to buy insurance. Our employer just wants us to patrol the periphery." Another mercenary chuckled, drank up the milk tea in his hand, took out a purple-black gem from his arms, and shone it towards the sun in the sky. The gem shone with charming luster. "We have been paid. This is the first time I have seen such a beautiful purple gem! As long as this thing is sold, it will definitely be worth a lot of gold coins. When the time comes, I must spend a lot of money in the Arcane City!"

"Why do you think our employer asked us to patrol the Monster Mountain Range?" The mercenary in front suddenly turned his head with a hint of doubt.

"Who knows." The mercenary shrugged, a cunning look flashing in his eyes, "Maybe he wants to investigate the movements of those students. After all, they are students of the Arcane Academy, and they must have a lot of good stuff on them."

At this moment, several students accidentally heard their conversation and felt nervous. The behavior of those adventurers made them feel uneasy.

Several students looked at each other, feeling a sense of urgency in their hearts. Although they believed that no force would risk offending the Arcane Academy to deal with them, they always felt that some kind of shadow was looming over them.

Deep in the Warcraft Mountains, in a dark and damp cave, a dozen shadowy figures gathered together in a semicircle, talking in low voices. The walls of the cave are covered with strange runes, emitting a faint glow, as if nourished by some unknown power.

The air was filled with the smell of decay, as if this had once been an altar for some ancient ritual and still retained the warmth of blood.

In the center of the cave, several twisted candles were burning. The flickering candlelight illuminated the cunning and distorted faces of these people. There was fanaticism and madness in their eyes, and they were covered in black cloaks, as if blending in with the shadows around them.

"We need someone to lure away those supervisors." A believer whispered, his voice as harsh as the wind. "Only by leading him into the abyss can we ensure that our plan will not be interrupted."

"Just like we have discussed long ago, all the choices have been made long ago. This can only be done by me." Another believer stood up, with a fanatical light flashing in his eyes. "I will use the power of the Lord to make them lost in the depths of the mountains, and they will never be able to return."

"Very good, but you must be careful," a voice came from behind, with a low and majestic voice, "No teacher in the Arcane Academy should be underestimated. If he finds out, your plan will fail."

The believers looked at each other and speculated in their hearts. Their target is those young students, and they want to awaken the Lord sleeping in the abyss through the sacrifice of blood.

Every student is a precious sacrifice, and only through the nourishment of blood can the power of the Lord be revived.

"Who will hunt down those students?" another believer asked, his voice full of urgency. "We can't let them get away!"

"My team and I will take care of it," a burly believer answered confidently, a sinister smile on his face, "We will surround them from all sides and make sure no one escapes."

"Remember, it must be quick and clean," the majestic voice sounded again, as if whispering from the abyss, "We must let them feel the taste of death in despair. Only in this way can they embrace the Lord's deep love."

Fanatical faith and desire for "love" bind them closely together. A bloody and horrific sacrifice is about to take place here, and this ceremony will change everything.

"Now, act!" A majestic voice echoed in the cave, and the cultists stood up one after another, their black cloaks fluttering in the candlelight, like monsters in the shadows.

Their hearts are filled with fanatical faith in the Lord, ready to turn everything into a blood sacrifice, offering their loyalty and desire to the abyss.

The shadows flickered, leaving only two figures standing on both sides of the altar. One of them said in a hoarse voice, "Do we really want to deal with the students of the Arcane Academy? The people behind the academy are not to be trifled with."

"It doesn't matter. The Lord has given us revelation. This is the best opportunity to harvest blood food. After this matter is over, we must thank Deacon Thirteen. If it weren't for his help, the whole thing might not have been so smooth..." The majestic voice came again. After he finished speaking, all the candles in the cave went out, followed by deathly silence.

"I really made a killing this time!" Merlin counted the number of students who had purchased adventure insurance, and the number had reached hundreds, and was about to break the thousand mark.

He was such a genius that he could always think of ways to make money. After the final exam was over, he would study hard on how to promote his card sales plan.

As for now, Merlin was lying on the chair with his legs crossed leisurely. He had been busy for so long and it was time for him to enjoy himself.
