Chapter 465: Inside the Moon Temple (Super Update Begins)

On the way to the Moon Temple, Merlin seemed to have stepped into a world of fantasy and prosperity. Today, the elven city of Andalia was immersed in an unprecedented lively atmosphere.

Looking around, the streets and alleys are decorated with signs related to the Moon Goddess everywhere, like a grand celebration of the Moon Goddess.

Exquisite lanterns are hung on the houses along the street. These lanterns are of various shapes, some are crescent-shaped, some are like blooming lotus flowers, with mysterious moon phase patterns painted on the petals. The jumping candlelight in the lanterns shines soft and hazy through the thin lampshades, like moonlight pouring down on the earth.

The flower lanterns complement the ingenious plant lamps, which are cleverly made by elf craftsmen from fluorescent plants growing deep in the elf forest. The vines of the plants are woven into exquisite lamp stands, the leaves sparkle with faint green light, and the flowers are like natural lampshades, emitting colorful glows and swaying gently in the breeze, as if dancing happily.

On both sides of the road, people were bustling about, their faces filled with joyful smiles, talking to each other, their words full of anticipation for the upcoming coronation ceremony of the Pope of the Moon Temple.

The elf children held small Moon Goddess dolls in their hands and ran and laughed among the crowd. Their laughter was clear and pleasant, adding a bit of agility and innocence to the lively scene.

Various merchants also took advantage of this rare event to set up their stalls, displaying a wide variety of rare and valuable items.

There are stalls selling magical accessories unique to the elves, such as necklaces, bracelets, and rings inlaid with gems that emit blue light. It is said that wearing them can enhance magical perception, attracting many magicians to stop and choose. There are also book stalls displaying ancient books, which record the common magic spells of the elves, attracting scholars eager for knowledge to linger. There are even stalls selling special elves' delicacies, with temptingly fragrant cakes and sweet and delicious nectar wine, which make passers-by stop and taste the unique flavor.

As Merlin strolled through the place, he couldn't help but feel more deeply about the culture and enthusiasm of the elves. At the same time, he was looking forward to arriving at the Moon Temple.

The Moon Temple is like a fairy isolated from the world, quietly located near the Moon Lake in Andaliya.

The Moon Lake is as clear as a mirror, and the surface seems to be covered by a layer of gauze. Under the caress of the breeze, the waves are sparkling, like a dream.

On the opposite side of the lake, the gigantic World Tree that blocks out the sun stands proudly, its branches stretching freely toward the sky. Every leaf seems to be telling an ancient legend, exuding a mysterious and majestic aura.

The Elf Queen's palace, like a baby nestled in the arms of the World Tree, sits firmly under the World Tree, blending perfectly with the surrounding natural scenery, displaying majesty and solemnity.

Merlin and Elsa slowly raised their heads in awe and looked at the huge temple rising from the ground in front of them.

The Moon Temple has a majestic appearance, with towering spires reaching into the sky. The tower is carved with intricate and exquisite moon phase patterns. Those patterns sometimes disappear and sometimes shine as the light changes, as if they were given life.

The temple is built of flawless white jade, with a faint magical halo flowing through the jade, making the entire temple sparkle in the sunlight, like a sacred temple from a myth.

Led by several respected high priests, Merlin and Elsa came to a quiet residence.

Two brand new high priest robes had already been prepared in the room. The robes were made of the finest silk, and were soft and warm to the touch.

Fine silver threads are woven into the silk thread, outlining mysterious runes and the dynamic Moon Goddess emblem pattern, which shimmers in the light.

Merlin and Elsa took the robes and put them on solemnly. In an instant, their temperament became more extraordinary, as if they had merged into this sacred Moon Temple.

Then, they walked into a solemn incense burning hall.

The smoke of incense curls up in the hall, and the rich aroma permeates every inch of the space, making people's hearts calm down unconsciously.

The high priests gathered around an ancient incense burner, muttering and chanting ancient prayers. Their voices were low and solemn, echoing in the hall.

Merlin and Elsa also closed their eyes and joined the prayer ceremony devoutly, praying for themselves as they were about to step into the main hall of the Moon Temple.

After the ceremony, they climbed up the huge steps.

On both sides of the steps, there stands an exquisite sculpture at regular intervals. The sculptures are based on the legend of the Moon Goddess, showing her many miracles such as protecting the elves and the forest. Each sculpture is lifelike, and the characters' demeanor and expressions are portrayed vividly, as if they could walk out of history in the next second and tell stories from the past.

When the priests worked together to slowly open the huge and luxurious door, Merlin's eyes lit up and he was instantly shocked by the luxury of the church hall inside.

The church hall is spacious and bright, with a towering dome and painted with exquisite murals.

The murals are themed on stars, the moon, and all things in nature. They are colorful and have delicate brushstrokes. Every detail shows the exquisite skills of the elf painters, making people feel as if they are in the vast universe and the fantastic nature.

There are rows of neatly arranged chairs in the hall. These chairs are all made of precious wood, with the backs and armrests carved with gorgeous patterns and inlaid with bright gems. They sparkle brightly under the candlelight.

The chair's seat cushion is made of the softest animal skin, which is extremely comfortable to sit on and exudes luxury.

The sculptures scattered everywhere are even more exquisite. Some show the elven warriors fighting bravely, with their agile postures, taut muscles, firm eyes, and the weapons in their hands seem to feel their former sharpness; some depict the messengers of the moon god delivering oracles, with peaceful faces, white wings behind their backs, and shining oracle scrolls in their hands, which make people feel awe.

Hung on the walls are priceless paintings, which depict not only the magnificent scenery of the Elf Forest changing with the seasons, but also the stunning scenes of the Moon Goddess appearing at different times. Each painting reflects the artist's deep feelings for the elves and the Moon Goddess, and is pleasing to the eyes.

And in front of the hall, a towering statue of the moon god is the most eye-catching.

The Moon God Statue is carved from a single piece of rare moonstone. It is tens of meters tall and emits a soft and mysterious blue light.

The statue of the Moon Goddess is sacred and beautiful, with deep eyes, as if she can see through everything in the world. She clasps her hands together, holding a crystal full moon. The moonlight pours down from her hands, illuminating the entire hall.
