Chapter 406 The Arrival of Demigod Hoyd

In the early morning when the sun shines all over the earth, the airport of the Arcane City is still as busy and bustling as usual.

One after another, gorgeously shaped spaceships slowly descended, making a slight whistling sound as the hulls rubbed against the air, and they docked steadily at the designated berths; the teleportation arrays flashed frequently, blue light was everywhere, and travelers hurried in and out with their luggage, disappearing in the light in an instant; the high-pitched cries of griffins came one after another, they stretched their strong wings, carrying their riders and flying lightly at low altitudes; the flames and cold mist occasionally spewed out by flying dragons added a bit of mystery and shocking atmosphere to this world.

Amidst this bustling scene, an elderly elven druid slowly stepped out of a slightly old small spaceship.

He has a hunched posture, and the years have carved deep wrinkles on his face, like the texture of ancient tree bark. His silver hair is sparse but still has a soft luster. In his hand, he holds tightly a cane made of sprouting branches. The cane looks ordinary, but it always radiates a light green glow of life.

The moment he stepped out of the airport, his steps stopped instantly, his cloudy eyes suddenly widened, and his face was full of surprise and shock.

He slowly raised his shaking hands, as if wanting to touch the dreamlike scene before him, muttering to himself: "Is this... is this still the Arcane City in my memory?"

The last time he visited this place was decades ago. At that time, the airport had only a few simple spaceships, the teleportation array often malfunctioned, the number of griffins and flying dragons was scarce, and the whole area was somewhat dilapidated and depressed.

And now, what appeared before his eyes was a prosperous scene beyond imagination.

Buildings of various styles stand on both sides of the spacious and smooth road. Tall magic lighthouses shine brightly, guiding the direction of the airport. Shops are next to each other, with magic runes flashing on their signs, selling rare treasures from all over the world, from rare gems that can amplify magic power to ancient scrolls containing mysterious powers. Pedestrians are dressed in bright and beautiful clothes, looking hurried but unable to hide their excitement. Magicians are dressed in gorgeous robes, and the magic wands in their hands flash from time to time, showing their profound magic skills.

He walked forward slowly with staggering steps, and his eyes were attracted by a giant spaceship that was preparing to set sail.

The ship was dozens of meters high, its hull inlaid with glittering mithril and glowing magic crystals. Complex and powerful magic circles were painted on its sails, fluttering gently in the breeze, as if it contained endless power, ready to break through the clouds and sail towards the unknown distance at any time.

"How could we have dared to hope for such a magnificent creation in the past..." The old druid sighed softly, his eyes full of amazement.

Not far away, a group of young magicians were busy debugging a large teleportation array, injecting magic power into the runes of the teleportation array, making its light even brighter.

Seeing this, the old druid thought to himself, "The technology of the teleportation array today is a world apart from before. It is so accurate and stable. It seems that my old friend is on the right track in choosing to establish the Arcane Academy."

He looked towards the habitats of the griffins and dragons and saw the animal tamers were feeding them and combing their feathers skillfully. The griffins were all energetic, with bright and eye-catching feathers, and the dragons were even more majestic, with their scales shining with a metallic luster, completely different from their previous thin and listless appearance.

"Even these birds and beasts are taken care of so well. The changes in the Arcane City are truly incredible..."

The old druid stood there for a long time, immersed in the shock, until a breeze blew by and he came back to his senses.

How much effort did his old friend put in to make the Arcane City as glorious as it is today? No wonder I wrote a letter to invite him to visit the Arcane Academy. Was he showing off to me?

With a heart full of emotion and expectation, Hoyd, leaning on his crutches, slowly blended into the bustling crowd.

Hoyd, the old but vigorous elven druid, leaned on his tree branch cane which exuded natural magic, and slowly stepped into the lower city of the Arcane City.

Memories of the past flooded into my mind like a tide. The former downtown area was full of sewage and garbage. In the narrow and dim streets, ragged orcs wandered around, struggling for food and a place to stay.

But now, the scene before him made him open his eyes wide, his eyes full of surprise and relief.

The neat and flat stone road glows with a warm luster under the sunlight. On both sides of the road, brand-new houses are arranged in an orderly manner. The walls are painted snow-white, and there are pots of vibrant green plants on the windowsills.

The ditches on the side of the street are flowing with clear streams, and occasionally you can see a few small fish swimming happily in them. The orc residents walked in groups of two or three, some carrying tools to the factory with hope for life on their faces, some bringing their children to play in the small parks on the street, their laughter echoing in the air.

Hoyd looked at these harmonious and warm scenes, nodded repeatedly with satisfaction, and secretly admired in his heart: I didn't expect that the orcs who once struggled to survive in the Arcane City now have a stable habitat of their own. This change is really earth-shaking.

As a demigod elven druid, Hoyd has always believed in the equality of all beings and despised the narrow-minded concept of bloodline.

In his eyes, whether it is elves, humans, orcs, or even all things in the world, they all have their own value and dignity.

At this moment, looking at the peaceful and prosperous scene of the Arcane City in front of him, he was filled with joy, and a soft light flashed in his weathered eyes, as if he saw the most beautiful vision in the world slowly unfolding.

However, when he strolled to the square in the lower town, a look of surprise quietly crept onto his face.

In the center of the square, a tall and majestic statue stands proudly, and the sunlight pours down, outlining a golden outline for the statue.

However, the person sculpted in the statue was not his old friend Weber, but a young human with an unimaginably handsome face. This young man had sharp eyebrows and bright eyes with deep and firm gaze, as if he could see through all the mysteries of the world; his long, shiny black hair fluttered in the wind, exuding an innate leadership aura. His appearance was even more dazzling than the most outstanding prince of the elves.

"What is going on?" Hood couldn't help but mutter to himself, his heart full of confusion. He unconsciously quickened his pace and walked towards the statue, wanting to find out what was going on.

Hood stood under the statue and looked at the words on it. It was dedicated to the greatest savior of the orcs - Leo Merlin. Below were the names of the donors of the statue, all of whom were orcs of the lowest level without exception.

Leo Merlin? Hoyd felt somewhat familiar with the name, as if he had heard it somewhere. By the way, it seemed that an old friend had mentioned it in a letter to him. He was a very interesting little guy.
