Chapter 35: Minotaur charge, charge, charge!

Chapter 35: Minotaur charge, charge, charge!

On the northern coastal plain of the island, beside a lush forest path.

The two "foreigners", one big and one small, who had successfully smuggled ashore, looked at the tall city walls and towering city gates at the end of the road, hid under the shade of the trees, and began the standard process of collusion.

"What will you call me after you get in?"

"Lorne..."

"Bang!"

A dull slap hit Medusa's little head, and Lorne repeated with a dark face.

"Brother, call me brother! From now on you are my sister, and we are Seriphos merchants who go out to sea to make a living. Do you understand?"

"oh……"

Medusa rubbed her aching little head and casually uttered a monosyllable word with a perfunctory attitude.

As for how much the Gorgon heard, perhaps only she herself knows.

Forget it, theoretically there is nothing wrong with siblings calling each other by their first names.

Luo En raised his hand angrily and rubbed his swollen temples. After some self-comfort, he spoke again.

"What about your own name?"

“Anna!”

Medusa's answer this time was quite decisive, and her tone was not as dead as before.

She obviously liked the new name.

The pronunciation originated from Greek. It means "elegance", "kindness", "beauty" or "grace", representing good wishes and expectations.

Lorne nodded with satisfaction and gently touched the little girl's head as a reward.

In the world of the Age of Gods, true names often reveal the origin and nature of living beings and possess some kind of mysterious power. In addition, curses, prophecies, spell locks, and other behaviors all require this as a medium.

Therefore, if such things that concern one's life and property are easily exposed, it may very likely bring about unnecessary danger and trouble.

So to be on the safe side, Loen put a vest on Medusa before entering the city to hide her identity.

There's nothing we can do about it. The [Three Gorgons] and [Blood of the Gorgons] are too famous. To humans who are subject to birth, aging, sickness and death, they are simply walking Tang Monk's flesh.

As for Loen himself, there was no need for this.

On the one hand, his real name as a god should be "Dionysus", which is still unknown.

On the other hand, the word "Lion" comes from the pronunciation of "lion" in Greek and is the nickname given to him by his deceased mother.

Apart from Circe, her adoptive mother and teacher, Hecate, the gambling goddess who was her partner, and the little Medusa in front of her, almost no one knew.

Even his nominal father, Zeus, didn't know.

——He took action without waiting for his lover to tell him the news.

Haha, it’s all your own fault.

Thinking of that stormy night and the God King who thought he had control of the overall situation, Loen sneered and shook his head.

Little Medusa raised her head and looked at the face which seemed gloomy for some reason. She bit her cherry lips and spoke softly.

"You, are you okay?"

Loen came back to his senses, chuckled and shook his head, then sorted out his thoughts and continued to ask a few questions in order to complete their fictitious identity information.

Apparently because of what had just happened, Medusa's next answer was surprisingly cooperative, and she quickly completed the basic collusion.

After completing the preparations, Loen was still a little worried and gave instructions again.

"Remember, after you go in, follow me obediently and don't run around. This place is not like the Invisible Island. You should know how outsiders treat you."

"Um!"

Medusa's face turned serious and she nodded heavily, obviously understanding her situation.

Loen touched Medusa's little head and smiled warmly to show encouragement. Then he lowered his five fingers, took the little girl's cold hand, followed the crowd on the road, and led the Gorgon to the city gate at the end.

Along the way, listening to the conversations of passers-by, Lorne squinted his eyes, enjoying the breeze blowing in his face, and admiring the island called "Crete".

This is the source of ancient Greek culture, with many mountains and deep valleys, beautiful scenery, and a coast composed of cliffs, rocky capes and beaches. The standard Mediterranean climate makes the whole island sunny and rainy, with evergreen plants in the forest, flowers blooming everywhere, and olives, grapes and citrus fruits planted in the fields.

In addition, it is surrounded by the sea on all sides and boundless blue waves. From a distance, it looks like being in a beautiful garden.

Legend has it that there are nearly a hundred ancient cities on the island of Crete, the most important of which is Knossos, the royal capital, known as the "City of Cities", located on the coastal plain in the north of the island.

That’s right, it’s the one in front of Loen.

Following the crowd and paying the city tax, the two successfully entered the city of Knossos.

Through the towering city gate, a wide road paved with bluestone runs through the center of the city, connecting the main roads and alleys in the city. The buildings on both sides of the road are lined up, mostly made of stone as the main material, and are sturdy and durable.

Looking around, there are residences, palaces, villas, hotels, public baths, workshops, etc., all of which are fully functional.

The whole market is bustling with activity, with stone carvings, gold and silver products, jewelry, pottery, bronze smelting, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and coarse food and snacks.

Looking across the surging crowd and towards the end of the road, a towering palace with an overall rectangular shape and covering an area of 22,000 square meters comes into view. Its strict axis, standard column structure, and patio-style lighting reveal a unique Greek style.

There is the cultural and political center of the entire island of Crete - the Palace of Knossos.

This majestic residence belongs to a famous figure in Greek mythology.

——The Lord of Crete, one of the three future judges of the underworld, the son of Zeus and Europa...

Lorne followed the relevant memories, his thoughts touched the last title that came into his mind, and the corners of his lips curled up in pleasure.

…and the famous Minotaur victim, the Good King Minos.

According to legend, Minos's ascension to the throne was not legitimate. He seized the throne from his brother Radamanthys and drove him away before successfully becoming the new king of Crete.

In order to whitewash the sanctity of his appointment, he prayed to Poseidon for a miracle to prove that his usurpation of power was legitimate. Poseidon then gave Minos a huge white bull and asked him to sacrifice it to himself.

But the bull was so beautiful that Minos finally slaughtered another bull for sacrifice. The angry Poseidon cursed Minos' wife Pasiphae, making her suffer from zoophilia.

In order to cover up his shame, Minos asked Daedalus to make a wooden cow for Queen Pasiphae and hide her inside it.

But because it was too realistic, the white bull fell in love with the cow and mated with it, causing Pasiphae to become pregnant. She then gave birth to a monster with a bull's head and a human body, the Minotaur, which means "Bull of Minos".

Eventually, the scandal was exposed, and Minos ordered Daedalus and his son Ikaros to build an underground labyrinth and imprison the Minotaur, a monster with the head of a bull and the body of a man, inside.

After the mission was accomplished, Daedalus and Ikaros, father and son, were also imprisoned, and thus the story of the two men crossing the Sea of Oceanus and the Wings of Ikaros came into being.

Of course, according to Lorne's estimation.

In the matter of imprisoning Daedalus and his son, King Minos, as the leader, had more or less some personal grudges involved.

It was because Daedalus made the cow so realistically that his own wife was killed by a cow.

Poseidon, the god of the sea, did not dare to retaliate as he was in the wrong, and Daedalus' length and thickness were just right for venting his anger.

So, to survive in Greece, strength is what matters.

After Lorne secretly mourned for three seconds for a victim on the island of Crete, he pulled Medusa aside and walked forward while casually describing the next arrangements.

"Let's first find a shop to sell our catch and other things, then go for a walk around the area, buy some things and a sea chart, and then consider our next itinerary..."

There was silence all around, and the tension in my hands was getting heavier.

Lorne turned his head and saw Medusa staring at the dazzling local snacks such as milk, roasted bird eggs, and fruit wine on the nearby stalls. A trace of crystal saliva unconsciously hung at the corner of her pink lips and gradually lengthened.
