Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Ranlong felt that she was not very shameless. There were many people in the world who were more shameless than her.

For example, Yu Le, just a few days after what happened, she came to Ran Long with a smug look on her face, and kept saying that what happened that day was a misunderstanding.

Ranlong didn't want to put herself in danger again, so she blacklisted Yu Le's WeChat account. Not only that, she also returned the tips Yu Le had given her on the live streaming platform to avoid any future disputes.

During the seven-day holiday, Ranlong spent all the time eating delicious food at Ms. Hu's house.

After the news of her collaboration with Qiu An and Yuan Chengyin broke, the list of people who had been lying dormant on WeChat suddenly resurrected. These people saw things clearly, and without questioning the authenticity of the trending search, they started with small talk, even inviting collaborations.

Ranlong naturally pretended that there were too many messages and didn't see them, and ignored them.

Hou Jie has been approached with many offers, but Ranlong doesn't want to make a splash by returning so early. She'll be surrounded by media gossip anyway, and her work won't be productive. She thinks it's better to wait until the movie airs, so everyone can appreciate her looks and acting skills. Then, more serious, high-quality collaborations will naturally come her way.

What's more, it's a rare vacation in the middle of filming.

But it's a bit scary when the vacation is too long.

Ms. Hu kept talking about it day and night, and Ranlong also thought that since Qiu An helped her pay off her debts, he was a benefactor no matter what, so she decided to take the initiative to give in and invite people to her home for a home-cooked meal, and let go of the past.

But Qiu An, a guy who can't live without being busy, has work here and notices there, and he has no time to have this meal.

What a big shot you are! After being rejected three times, Ranlong couldn't help but yell.

If you don’t want to reconcile, then forget it!

But Qiu An was busy and she couldn't find anyone to play with.

No one knew what Yuan Chengyin was doing these days. He was too lazy to reply to WeChat messages and seemed to be indifferent to her.

She couldn't always ask Sister Hou to play with her. She didn't want to be the kind of leader who had no friends of her own and who would just call her subordinates all day to fawn over her.

As a result, Ranlong stayed at home playing online games for a long time. Oh, and of course he turned on the live broadcast.

Ranlong is completely absorbed in the game. Before, when he was doing livestreams, he had to consider which games had the most audiences and which characters he could use well. Now, he can finally play whatever he wants, even if he wants to mess with his teammates. Anyway, no matter what he plays, there will be people criticizing him, and no matter what he criticizes, there will be people appreciating him.

She played intensively for several days until the game publisher came and asked if she wanted to pay the advertising fee.

If you try it, you will know that persistence will pay off.

It was worth it that she stayed up for several nights, and the facial treatment she had just done was all in vain.

After all, if you play like this, seven days won't seem so long. Just when Ms. Hu was about to get annoyed with the dyeing, the vacation ended cleverly.

Ranlong was packing his luggage when he saw Ms. Hu watching him, looking eager to make something happen.

"Mom, what are you doing?"

"Mom, can I go to the set with you?"

This wasn't some mother-daughter scene. Ms. Hu was shrewd enough to know that Ranlong would see Qiu An when she went to the set, so she went to visit him, fulfilling two wishes at once.

"You wish."

"Okay, then be careful on the road and remember to take good care of Qiu An."

"I take care of her?" Ranlong's last tone climbed up to the treetops.

What she was thinking was, Qiu An is taking good care of me!

No, that's not what I meant. She doesn't want anyone's care! Can't they just be two independent individuals? No need to be so polite!

"She's taken care of you enough, and it's only right that you pay her back a few times. Don't be so stingy, and pay mom back as well."

"You're about to adopt her as your daughter, so what if she's being filial to you?"

"You're talking nonsense again!" Ms. Hu said, unable to hold back, she chuckled quietly: "Hehe, being a daughter..."

Just like last time, Ranlong and Qiu An were going to the set on the same flight. However, their destination was different: this time they were going to Zhilin.

Her collaboration with Qiu An had already been semi-publicized, and even the media, which had been behind the curve, had already flocked to the scene. With her experience from the previous dinner, Ranlong had learned her lesson. She woke up early, put on her makeup, and carefully selected a navel-baring two-piece faux dress with denim hot pants, all for the promotional purposes.

As a result, Qiu An took her through the VIP channel.

"Why are you wearing so little? It'll be cold on the plane."

"Aren't there blankets on the plane? What are you afraid of? No, our crew has already publicly promoted it, and there are so many fans waiting at the door. Why are we still going VIP?"

"Today's itinerary is not open to the public, so we can't encourage them to waste time waiting overnight or buying flight information from scalpers. Furthermore, rashly using the general aisle will cause trouble for airport staff."

Okay, Qiu says Qiu is right, An says An is right, what else can she do?

All the careful dressing was of no use. Ranlong was in a bad mood and fell asleep as soon as he got on the plane to make up for the sleep he missed by getting up early.

When she woke up again, the plane was already landing. She looked at the thick clothes and two blankets that did not belong to her and was not surprised.

Qiu An took advantage of every opportunity to take care of her, and she couldn't avoid it no matter how much she refused.

It doesn't matter, just bear with it. Anyway, all the money she earns will be given to her for a long time to come, so just think of it as working for her.

It is natural for a boss to take care of his employees.

"Thanks."

"Don't thank me, this is Sister Hou's clothes."

"Why didn't you say it earlier?!" You made her waste half a day's feelings!

"I thought you wouldn't say thank you for such a small thing."

Ranlong was completely baffled. Why did he get so angry the moment he met this person? He had been trying to reconcile with her just two days ago. Qiu An must have done this on purpose.

My stomach started to rumble, and I felt really hungry.

Fortunately, Zhilin was not as time-sensitive as Ducheng, so funding was not tight and filming was not that rushed. So, since they had no scenes to film today, Ranlong decided not to rush to the hotel and instead eat something delicious to fill their stomachs first.

As it was getting close to dinner time, Ranlong said he wanted to eat, and the others joined him.

After getting in the car and turning into a few alleys, and making sure there were no paparazzi or fans following them, they got out and walked into a street full of restaurants.

The few people behind were all indecisive. Ranlong walked in front and looked around to choose lunch. After he chose the restaurant he wanted to eat at, he turned around and found that only Qiu An was behind him.

"Where are they? Why are you the only one left?"

"Looks like he went looking for something to eat."

"Huh? Where did you go?"

"I don't know. Sister Hou said she was starving and wanted something fast and high in calories. Xixi said today was Thursday, so she asked me for fifty yuan and left. She didn't say where she was going."

ah?

"ah?"

"I thought we couldn't eat it because it was too high in calories, so I let them go by themselves."

I'm too lazy to complain. How come some people just want v50 to be v50?

Ranlong had her eyes on a mutton rice noodle shop. She remembered the roasted whole lamb she had eaten last time. Although something unhappy happened, the meat was still delicious.

His stomach growled a few more times, and Ranlong said to Qiu An, "Let's eat this," then turned and walked into the restaurant.

Qiu An glanced at the advertisement on the store sign and hesitated for a moment before following.

Ranlong thought that Qiu An complained that the store was too small and not worthy of her, but as soon as the rice noodles were served on the table, Qiu An's tears fell.

???

"Hey, why are you crying? I didn't offend you, did I? Are there any paparazzi around? Are they trying to scam me?"

Ranlong was just about to take two tissues from the tissue box on the dining table, but was afraid that the paper in this small shop was not clean, so she took out two branded tissues from her bag and handed them to Qiu An.

"It's okay." Qiu An took the tissue and wiped her tears. "I'm just a little allergic to mint."

"Please note if you're allergic to mint!"

"I made a note."

Ranlong looked down and saw two bowls of rice noodles. The green bowl was covered with mint leaves as if they were free of charge, while the white bowl had no green at all and was not replaced with other green leafy vegetables, as if to say that if you don’t want to eat mint, don’t come.

The waiter who served the food was lazy and just put two bowls on the table without telling who wanted more and who didn't.

The bowl with mint leaves was placed under Qiu An's eyelids. As the heat rose, the mint fragrance rushed towards her eyes and nose.

Ranlong quickly swapped the two bowls and saw Qiu An blinking his eyes with tears rolling down his cheeks, but he didn't look aggrieved. It was as if he was acting, which was quite strange.

"Aside from the tears, are there any other symptoms? How about we go to another store and pick up some allergy medicine on the way?"

"No, it's not serious. There are no other symptoms. It will be fine in a while."

"oh."

After eating for a while with her head down, Qiu An's tears fell less, but they still did not stop completely.

Ranlong asked her again if she wanted to leave, and Qiu An still said it was not a problem.

"Qiu An."

"Um?"

"Do you know what masochism means?"

Qiu An was stunned when he heard this, and after a moment, he nodded.

"Huh? So perverted? How come someone knows about masochism but not about Crazy Thursday?"

Qiu An's face seemed a little red.

"So do you think you are a masochist?"

"I... probably not."

"Oh~ I think~ that means there is still room for improvement."

Qiu An frowned slightly and didn't respond, as if he was really thinking about it.

The way she was thinking frightened Ranlong, so he quickly changed the subject: "So you can't use mint toothpaste? Will you cry while brushing?"

"Yes. That's how I discovered I'm allergic to mint."

Ranlong imagined the scene and couldn't help laughing out loud.

"Then you can't have mint chocolate either."

"Mint chocolate?"

"It's a mint chocolate flavored dessert, like ice cream."

"If it's really delicious, you can eat it while crying."

"What? That's hilarious."

While chatting about some boring topics, Ranlong suddenly felt a very unfriendly gaze coming from the side, as if the gaze wanted to skin her alive and eat her.

Ranlong followed the line of sight and saw two young girls sitting side by side looking at this place.

The two girls seemed to recognize them. But why were they glaring at her? Did they think she was the one who made Qiu An cry? Did they think she was laughing at Qiu An crying?

Ranlong glared back, but the two girls seemed to have misunderstood and instantly turned into two happy puppies. They didn't even eat their meals and trotted towards them happily.

Ranlong was puzzled, and when he turned around, he saw Qiu An with a smile on his face, calling the two girls over.

Just as he was about to question Qiu An, the girls appeared in front of him like a tornado.

Qiu An raised her hand to wipe away her tears and said, "I'm sorry, my eyes are a little allergic, and I don't look very good right now."

"No, no! You are beautiful no matter what!"

Qiu An smiled and said, "Do you have a pen and paper? Do you want an autograph?"

"I do!" The two girls couldn't hide their excitement, but they lowered their voices as Qiu An meant by the index finger he placed on his lips.

They asked the front desk for paper and pen, and Qiu An signed the paper.

The timid one was already thinking of going back. The bolder one glanced at Ranlong and asked Qiu An, "Sister, is it true that you and Ranlong are going to act in a movie together?"

The girl's voice was soft, and since Ranlong was close by, he could hear it naturally.

It was as if they were chatting with her as if she were an outsider. Ha! Nowadays, fans are really disrespectful.

"It's true." Qiu An said with a smile.

Ranlong stared at the fan with a look of driving him away.

When the fan saw Ranlong staring at her for a long time, he didn't know what was wrong with him and thought that she was unhappy because she was ignored.

"How about... you sign one too?" the fan asked, but made no move to pass on the paper or pen. They each took a piece of paper, clearly not wanting Ranlong's signature to appear alongside Qiu An's.

"If you don't want it, don't force it. Even if I sign it for you, you'll throw it in the trash or sell it on a second-hand website. Don't think I don't know."

Ranlong's tone was fierce, she thought it would at least intimidate the girl, but the girl just said calmly, "Yeah, that's fine."

Then he left.
