Chapter 1 First Encounter

On a rainy night, with lightning and thunder, it was as if all the scumbags in the city had gathered together to swear to love their partners forever.

When Shi Qian opened his eyes, he found that it was as if he hadn't opened them at all; it was pitch black, and he couldn't see anything.

He felt as if he were in an extremely cramped space, unable to fully stretch out his proud 1.8-meter height. Shi Qian frowned.

My mind is foggy, it feels like someone inside me is frantically tying Chinese knots with his brains.

A memory suddenly surged up, and Shi Qian felt somewhat uncomfortable. He felt like an observer, watching someone's life unfold.

By the time he came to his senses, he had already fallen to the ground with a "thud".

Shi Qian is a fragile young master who is sick for about 300 days out of 365 days a year, but strangely enough, no problems can be found in his examinations.

Over time, his family began to believe that Shi Qian was faking illness to win favor, and that he was too cunning for his age to be likable.

From then on, the family simply let him grow up freely. Anyway, the Shi family had many sons, so having another good-for-nothing wouldn't be a big deal.

At this moment, Shi Qian, who was born with a fragile physique, fell heavily out of the closet. He always did strange things, and no one in the family cared about him anymore.

"Ouch...it hurts so much, my knee..."

Shi Qian was very afraid of pain, and the fall made him grimace, his handsome brows furrowing.

This is what Meng Qing saw when she pushed the door open and came in.

The person in front of him was kneeling in a very contorted position, with his buttocks sticking up, his head slightly tilted back, revealing a delicate face, and a head of slightly curly natural brown hair that was a little messy, with a few strands of hair sticking up on his head, making him look like a Teletubby.

Her skin was pale with a hint of red, her delicate smiling eyes were filled with tears, her nose was twitching and slightly red, and her lips were pressed tightly together and then parted again because of his pain, revealing a moist and tender texture.

With heavy breathing, her body trembled slightly, and from time to time, soft panting that would make one blush could be heard.

The scene was really too strange. Meng Qing was still holding the doorknob, and was now in a dilemma.

He recognized him at first glance; it was Shi Qian, the third young master of the Shi family.

A week ago, Shi Jingguo brought him back to this villa, and he saw it in the huge family photo downstairs. He never knew before that men could be so good-looking.

When Shi Jingguo saw the photos, he introduced them to him one by one.

The youngest son has been frail and sickly since childhood. He was just hospitalized last week and is expected to be away for some time.

If it were before, Meng Qing would have really wanted to get to know this person, but just two days ago, he had a very vivid nightmare, and he couldn't come to his senses for a long time after waking up.

In his dream, he was an abandoned baby, left at the doorstep of a family in the countryside during the dead of winter.

He was naturally adopted by this family.

But this family was no benevolent family; his adoptive father was a gambler and his adoptive mother was an alcoholic.

Neither of them had a proper job. When they ran out of money, they would do odd jobs in nearby towns. They would either lose the little money they earned at the card table or in alcohol.

The couple's bodies had long been damaged by overworking themselves in their youth, and they were nearly 40 years old and still had no children. When they saw a baby boy suddenly appear at their door, they immediately took him and registered him in the household.

There was a note on the child that read Meng Qing. Coincidentally, the male head of the household also had the surname Meng. Perfect, no need to come up with a new name, we can just use the old one.

There was also a tattered piece of cloth, embroidered crookedly, a worthless trinket, which the couple casually tossed into a corner.

Back then, regulations in the countryside weren't strict, and within just a few days, the two of them adopted Meng Qing.

The couple adopted Meng Qing not out of kindness, but for no other reason than to find someone to take care of them in their old age.

After all, neither of them had any plans. If they didn't do anything productive when they were young, their fate when they got old certainly wouldn't be good.

Those who have no children or grandchildren, who will take care of them in their final days?

Now that we've found a baby boy, won't our family have an heir? Meng Qing's unexpected appearance was just like handing a pillow to someone who's about to fall asleep.

The couple had no experience in taking care of children, so they just raised them haphazardly. When they were hungry, they would feed them some rice water, and when they cried, they would just leave them aside. Anyway, they had never seen a child cry to death in the village.

Meng Qing survived entirely by sheer luck, since the couple frequented gambling tables and returned home drunk every day, often forgetting they had a son.

Once, they almost threw Meng Qing, who was wrapped in a blanket, on the ground as if she were a rag. Fortunately, it was because of the wrong weight that they realized they were carrying a living creature.

When Meng Qing grew a little older, she was completely left to her own devices and wasn't even allowed to study.

"What's the point of reading books? It's a waste of money! This spendthrift has squandered all the family's money!"

Although Meng Qing has lived on leftovers all his life, his family has never spent a penny of extra money on him.

When they get sick, they go to an unlicensed clinic and get two pills. If they spend even a penny more, the couple will argue for half a day.

Thanks to the fact that compulsory education is free and the school provides meals, Meng Qing was able to go to school.

When Meng Qing was in the third grade of elementary school, the couple wanted to call her home to farm.

Just two days later, he lost his last acre of land at the gambling table.

The couple cursed and pointed at Meng Qing at the school.

They say he's a real spendthrift and an unlucky bastard; ever since they raised him, all the valuables in the house have disappeared.

Meng Qing said nothing and didn't retort. He had long been used to being blamed by his adoptive parents.

He just watched indifferently, but the two men saw his gaze and took it as a provocation, so they immediately started punching him.

From then on, the couple opened the door to a new world, finding it quite enjoyable to beat people up and a good way to vent their frustrations. From that time on, Meng Qing was constantly being punched and kicked by them.

Meng Qing's body was always covered in bruises, with no good spots. New wounds covered old ones, making him look like a live target that never rested.

When he grew older, his adoptive parents could no longer beat him, and he reverted to his original cursing and swearing.

He drifted aimlessly through high school until his senior year. His adoptive parents felt there was no need for him to continue his studies; he was old enough to work and earn money to support them in their old age.

Just as they were about to send Meng Qing to a factory, a wealthy man came from the city and took Meng Qing away.

However, the couple had also extorted a lot of money from him. After weighing the options, he realized that Meng Qing couldn't earn that much money even if he worked his whole life. Now that he could suddenly have a large sum of money, he agreed immediately.

Meng Qing then severed her adoption relationship with the two, and they were officially no longer related.

Meng Qing was taken back to the Shi family in Yan City, but Madam Shi did not like him very much.

She thought he was Mr. Shi's illegitimate son, and if the paternity test results hadn't shown that the two were not related by blood, she might have made a huge fuss.

However, Madam Shi still disliked Meng Qing, feeling that Shi Jingguo was bringing back the son of the person he liked and raising him as his own son, which made her even more resentful.

In the dream, the third young master of the Shi family, whether out of a desire to please his mother or for some other reason, bullied him relentlessly.
