Su Kaiyue certainly didn't feel she had wronged Shi Qian; she just felt that Shi Qian had been too cold to her today, as if she were an outsider.
Although Su Kaiyue hadn't given Shi Qian much maternal love over the years, she felt that a child shouldn't hold a grudge against his mother, after all, she had given him life.
His distorted development is Shi Qian's own problem, absolutely not her fault.
After all, Shi Yan was someone she had watched grow up. They were worlds apart, so it couldn't be a problem with her upbringing. It could only be Shi Qian's own problem.
Su Kaiyue began to reflect on whether she had spoiled Shi Qian too much and treated him too well, which made Shi Qian ungrateful and turn him bad.
She had never mistreated Shi Qian financially, and Su Kaiyue couldn't find the reason for Shi Qian's change in attitude today, so she decided to attribute it to spoiling him.
He decided to reconsider the allowance he gave Shi Qian each month, and it would be best to reduce it by a large portion so that Shi Qian would understand that his tantrums were unreasonable.
Without the Shi family, he is nothing.
Shi Qian returned to his room and looked around. The room felt both familiar and strange. He had a strong feeling today that he should leave the Shi family.
Forced happiness is not true happiness, and love that is begged for is not true love. I will be an adult at the end of this month, and I can earn money now, so it's a good time to be independent.
Shi Qian decided to calculate all the expenses the Shi family had given him over the years and return them all to the Shi family. The Shi family's children wouldn't care if he were there or not.
There were many things in the room, but most of them were things he didn't need. Shi Qian turned on the computer, first pulled out the important data and put it on a separate hard drive, then re-flashed the computer and cleared all the records.
He hadn't planned to move the computer, intending to buy parts online and assemble one himself in the next few days. However, the new rented apartment was fully equipped, which saved him some money.
Shi Qian didn't plan to take any of the clothes in the closet or the gifts Su Kaiyue had bought for him over the years; there was no need.
He took out the scores he had written and some drawings from the locked drawer of his desk. He had locked it after regaining consciousness once, when he vaguely felt that something was wrong with him, but soon lost control of himself again.
Shi Qian stuffed all the sheet music and drawings into his backpack. He only took these, the computer data he had copied, and the iPad from his bed on this trip back home.
He hadn't originally planned to take the iPad, but it contained so much of his hard work, so he figured he'd better return it to the Shi family in cash later.
Shi Qian lived in the Shi family for 17 years. When he was about to leave, he found that all his luggage could not even fill a single schoolbag.
When Shi Qian came downstairs, Su Kaiyue was no longer in the living room; only Shi Yan remained.
Since the incident in the music room, Shi Yan has not met with Shi Qian again.
He was indeed faking fainting because he didn't know how to handle the situation and could only try to remain calm.
After being taken to the infirmary, he dozed off for about 10 minutes before waking up. Shi Yan said he wanted some peace and quiet, so he told the band members to go back to class first.
He knew that his theft of the sheet music had been exposed, and he could no longer go to the Beijing Music Association. After all, the Music Association had always had a rule that anyone found plagiarizing would be immediately expelled and never hired again.
He hasn't even gone in yet, and the president of the music association has already caught him red-handed. As long as the president is still in power, he'll never be able to get in.
He could handle Chen Qian and the band members. After all, he had cultivated his image for so many years. As long as he played the victim a little, they would never tell anyone what happened in the practice room.
President Yan and Principal Xu wouldn't care whether such a trivial matter would spread throughout the school, especially since he fainted in time; the matter wasn't yet a done deal.
However, he had already told Su Kaiyue that he would be performing a new piece at this arts festival, and he had even played a short piece for her. Unfortunately, Su Kaiyue only heard the beginning of it before she received a phone call and had to leave.
But the piece was already stunning enough. Su Kaiyue received news that the president of the Beijing Musicians Association would be attending their arts festival performance and instructed Shi Yan to perform well and strive to be selected by the association, so that his future would be limitless.
Shi Yan readily agreed. Su Kaiyue had always placed high hopes on him, and Shi Yan had never disappointed her.
Su Kaiyue also said that she would go to the school to watch Shi Yan's performance at the music festival.
But now that this has happened, he can no longer use this piece of music, so he can't explain to Su Kaiyue why he's leaving such a good piece unused and replacing it with something else.
The only solution Shi Yan could think of was to not participate this time. Shi Yan looked around and, taking advantage of the fact that no one was in the infirmary, calculated the angle at which he could twist his hand without getting too badly injured. He deliberately fell to the ground, his hand hitting the protruding step.
"Ouch!" Shi Yan broke out in a cold sweat. The fall in the music room was fake, but the fall in the infirmary was real.
He picked up his phone, called the driver, and asked him to take him to the hospital.
The driver saw that Shi Yan was in so much pain that he was sweating profusely, so he sped up and drove straight to the city hospital, and then called Su Kaiyue.
Su Kaiyue rushed to the hospital and was shocked when she heard that Shi Yan had injured his hand. How could Shi Yan have injured his hand?
So she put aside what she was doing and came straight to the hospital. Shi Yan had just finished bandaging and looked very weak.
Su Kaiyue asked him how he got injured, but Shi Yan dodged the question and just wiped away his tears.
"Aunt, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. I've let you down. I might... I might not be able to attend the music festival this time..."
