Su Kaiyue didn't expect to see Shi Qian bullying Shi Yan again as soon as she returned. She immediately stepped forward and pushed Shi Qian away. Shi Qian crashed into the shelf next to her and got a finger-length cut on his face, which quickly started bleeding.
Following Su Kaiyue was Shi Jingguo, who had been away on a business trip and had just returned today.
Su Kaiyue had just gone out to pick someone up from the airport. On the way, she told Shi Jingguo that Shi Qian had become even more unruly. Shi Jingguo neither agreed nor disagreed, saying it was just children's squabbles and advised Su Kaiyue not to take it too seriously.
However, when Su Kaiyue said that Shi Qian had ruined Shi Yan's chance to join the Beijing Music Association, she still frowned slightly.
Members of the Beijing Musicians Association are highly sought after, not only because their musical skills are recognized, but more importantly because of the connections they have with the association.
The Beijing Music Association is backed by the Yan family, one of the four major families, not to mention other well-known families and powerful figures that sponsor it.
If Shi Yan can really get into the Beijing Music Association, then Jing Guo might consider putting Shi Yan under his own name. It would be good for his career to have a member of the Music Association from the Shi family.
"Can't you just bear with it and wait until the performance is over?" Shi Jingguo frowned when he heard that Shi Yan was not going to perform because of his injury. It was just a minor injury; he could endure it and it would pass.
Su Kaiyue rolled her eyes when she heard this. Shi Jingguo didn't understand music or art at all. He only cared about business, which was why he asked such a stupid question.
"Do you think it's just a cold or fever? You can endure anything? It's a broken hand! A strained muscle! A snapped arm! You can't even lift it! How are you going to perform?"
If it weren't for the need for a marriage alliance, Su Kaiyue would never have considered Shi Jingguo.
She originally thought she could find someone who understood and appreciated her music, but in the end she found someone who could only play music to a cow.
"Forget it! You wouldn't understand even if I told you! In short, he's our good son, but he's too jealous. He deliberately stole Xiaoyan's sheet music and even hurt his hand. You need to have a good talk with Shiqian when you get back. It's all your fault for spoiling the child!"
"I know, stop nagging." Shi Jingguo was a little impatient. He didn't like Su Kaiyue's arrogant and condescending attitude towards him.
In reality, Shi Jingguo didn't dote on Shi Qian at all. He only cared about business and always wanted to raise Shi Qian to be a perfect workaholic, just like his eldest son, single-mindedly focused on making money.
Unfortunately, Shi Qian was too weak and often got sick, and his mind seemed to be broken, so he couldn't learn anything.
At first, Shi Jingguo searched everywhere for doctors, but later found that the cause of the illness could not be found and Shi Qian did not make any progress, so he gradually stopped caring.
However, since he was still his own child, Shi Jingguo treated Shi Qian slightly better than Shi Yan.
No matter how outstanding Shi Yan is, he is still an outsider, not his child.
Most importantly, Shi Yan has been raised by Su Kaiyue to look too much like her, so it's really hard to like him.
As soon as he entered the house, he heard Shi Yan crying. Shi Jingguo was a little annoyed. He didn't like people who cried all day long. What could crying solve?
However, he knew that Su Kaiyue was closer to Shi Yan than to her own child, so he didn't say anything and just silently followed behind.
Upon hearing Shi Yan's accusations, Shi Jingguo didn't take them to heart at all. He never cared about such disputes; in fact, he didn't care about anything except things that would benefit his career.
However, since this involves the Beijing Musicians Association, Shi Jingguo felt that as the head of the family, he should say a few words.
"Shi Qian, you were wrong in this matter. How could you deliberately injure Shi Yan and prevent him from participating in the performance?"
"Shi Yan, you too, it's just a little injury. A real man, will crying solve anything?"
Shi Jingguo felt he had handled the situation fairly well, having slapped both sides once.
Shi Qian was surprised that even Shi Jingguo had returned. She should have known better than to stand there listening to Shi Yan's nonsense and left quickly.
He knew very well what kind of person Shi Jingguo was. On the surface, he was a good father, but in reality, he didn't care about any of his children at all.
All he cares about is making money and business; the occasional acts of kindness he shows are just for show.
Compared to so-called family ties, power and money are more important to Shi Jingguo.
Although Shi Yan stopped crying, he still complained of pain in his hand, saying that the wound was probably going to bleed, and that he didn't know where he had hit his other hand.
Su Kaiyue cursed and swore, her mouth full of words criticizing Shi Qian. Shi Jingguo occasionally chimed in with a few words. Shi Qian felt a pain on his face, reached up and touched it, and felt blood.
Shi Qian suddenly found Shi Yan somewhat annoying and bothersome. He was tired of watching Shi Yan's constant little antics. Shi Yan hadn't gotten tired of acting, but Shi Qian was already tired of watching him.
Shi Qian felt uneasy and decided that he still had to do something.
He saw Shi Yan being helped by Su Kaiyue to sit on the sofa, walked over, and pushed him. Shi Yan lost his balance and fell back onto the floor.
He was completely dumbfounded. What was Shi Qian doing? Pushing him like that in front of Su Kaiyue and Shi Jingguo?
Before he could even feign pitifulness, Shi Qian kicked Shi Yan's uninjured arm and then kicked the bandaged arm.
Shi Yan was kicked in the injured area, and the pain was so intense that his scalp tingled. He clutched his arm and curled up on the ground.
"Shi Qian! Don't go too far!" Su Kaiyue didn't expect Shi Qian to be so bold as to hurt someone right under her nose.
Shi Qian took two steps back and clapped his hands, as if Shi Yan were some kind of filthy thing.
"See that? That's what you call pushing him, that's what you call hitting him."
"You!" Su Kaiyue was so angry she couldn't speak. She turned to Shi Jingguo and shouted, "Shi Jingguo! Control your son!"
