Chapter 113 I cried, but I was faking it.

Li Chuan was furious when he saw Shi Qian's indifferent attitude. Why should the instigator go unpunished? Why should the victim suffer in silence just because the perpetrator is weak?

Almost everyone at school knows that Shi Qian is unwell and has an illness, but no one knows exactly what kind of illness it is.

Heart disease? But if it is heart disease, what's wrong with saying it? Why hide it like this?

Moreover, Shi Qian had been taking leave of absence far too frequently before. He would often not come for more than half a semester, and sometimes he would only come back for less than a week before taking leave of absence again.

However, Shi Qian did not show any signs of illness while at school, and no one had ever seen him when he was having an attack. He would often stop attending class the next day.

When Li Chuan recalled Shi Qian's strange attire, something flashed through his mind: Could it be that Shi Qian's illness wasn't physical, but rather psychological?

That explains everything: why they always dress strangely, and why they suddenly disappear without any symptoms of illness.

Shi Yan's excessive care for Shi Qian was probably for this reason, perhaps out of fear that Shi Qian might have suicidal thoughts.

Li Chuan had never had any dealings with Shi Qian before, so he didn't know much about him. However, after Shi Qian returned to school after the start of the senior year, he had several encounters with him.

He doesn't seem to be sick at all. It's said that people with depression only hurt themselves and not others.

Shi Qian's attack was clearly indiscriminate. Didn't he burn Shi Qian's hand before? He also tore up someone's test paper from the next class, threw someone's backpack, and even hit someone on the playground.

It's probably not depression.

But it's still a disease.

Even if everything else is one thing, the fact that Shi Qian bullies Shi Yan, the only person who takes care of him and is kind to him, only shows that he is truly a wicked person.

Shi Qian might just be pure evil.

Seeing Shi Yan slump onto the table, his shoulders trembling, Li Chuan knew that Shi Yan must be feeling extremely wronged.

How could he not feel wronged? He was bullied to this extent and no one stood up for him.

Li Chuan admired Shi Yan's talent. He was originally going to go with Shi Yan to the Yancheng Music Association branch selection at the end of the month, but Shi Yan sent him a message a couple of days ago saying that he couldn't go.

Thinking about the art festival, Li Chuan is now quite certain that Shi Qian deliberately tried to trip up Shi Yan and ruin his plans.

Shi Yan is soft-hearted and tolerant, but as Shi Yan's good friend, how could he let Shi Yan be bullied by this poor and arrogant relative from the countryside?

"How can you be so shameless?"

"Have you forgotten who gave you the right to stay at No. 1 High School? Is this how you repay the benefits you enjoyed from others?"

"Whose fault is it that you lack talent? Is it Shi Yan's fault? Why are you targeting him like this?"

"Stealing sheet music? As expected, bad people come from poor and remote places. Do you think you can take away someone else's talent by using such despicable means?"

"Besides, you're from the countryside, have you ever even touched a zither? Oh, I forgot, when you were little, you shamelessly lived at the Shi family's house, and you even smashed Shi Yan's zither out of jealousy. Sure enough, some people are born evil!"

"Are you satisfied now? You've succeeded in preventing Shi Yan from participating in the arts festival and the music association's selection at the end of the month, you bitch!"

As soon as Fu Xiuhan entered the door, he heard the word "bitch" and frowned. He hadn't had breakfast with Shi Qian today because he received a call from his uncle early in the morning and had to leave the school.

On the way back, I packed some pastries from a well-established pastry shop for Shiqian. I had ordered them for her before, and she ate a couple more pieces back then, so she must have liked them.

As soon as he entered the classroom, he saw a crowd of people surrounding him, completely blocking Shi Qian from view.

Fu Xiuhan walked over and heard a familiar voice.

[Scold, curse, curse as much as you can! Li Chuan's mouth is really effective!]

The consequence of opposing me is making yourself an enemy of the whole world!

[Shi Qian, you're no match for me. Everyone in this school is a knife to my heart. If you offend me, you're finished!]

[That idiot Zhang Ming almost dragged Shi Qian down with him, but his own dirty deeds caused him to slip up, allowing Shi Qian to escape unscathed. Useless piece of trash!]

[Li Chuan is an excellent student now. If word gets out that he was being scolded by such a good student, it would be Shi Qian's fault. After all, what wrong could a good student possibly do?]

[I refuse to believe Shi Qian won't break down. Come on, get angry! Get furious right now! Once Shi Qian gets angry, I have plenty of ways to make him the target of everyone's ire!]

[If I weren't afraid of laughing out loud, I wouldn't be lying on the table. I want to see Shi Qian's expression right now!]

...

After listening to just a couple of sentences, Fu Xiuhan knew that this was Shi Yan's little scheme again.

He has now roughly figured out the pattern: he and Shi Yan cannot hear each other when they are in the same space normally; he can only hear Shi Yan's thoughts when Qian is present.

Shi Yan's persona and his true feelings are so disconnected. He appears harmless on the surface, but is actually so insidious and vicious behind the scenes.

Shi Qian looks too innocent and easy to bully. This idiot has been cursing for so long, but Shi Qian hasn't said a word. I wonder if she's crying.

No way! Shi Qian is his person, and he can't let his person be insulted to his face.

"Get out of the way."

Fu Xiuhan's cold voice rang out, and the crowd automatically dispersed upon hearing it.

Fu Xiuhan placed the packaged snacks on Shi Qian's table, disdainfully picked up Song Qi's pen, poked Li Chuan, who was still about to continue cursing, back a few steps, and then stood in front of Shi Qian.

"Come on, continue."

"I'll listen right here."

Li Chuan was so engrossed in his cursing that he didn't notice Fu Xiuhan. He was about to ask who was so blind as to poke him, but when he turned around and saw that it was Fu Xiuhan, his mouth instantly shut up as if it had been fitted with a silencer.

Li Chuan took two steps back, and the crowd dispersed considerably. Everyone returned to their seats, and a few students from other classes stood near the back door pretending to leave. Everyone quieted down instantly, but their eyes still lingered on the corner at the center of the incident.

Li Chuan was a bit intimidated by Fu Xiuhan. After all, everyone in the capital knew about the Fu family. His parents had previously told him to try to curry favor with Fu Xiuhan, but Li Chuan gave up after failing to get a word in edgewise.

He dared not provoke Fu Xiuhan, after all, a single word from Fu Xiuhan could bankrupt his family.

Now Fu Xiuhan seems to be on Shi Qian's side, standing up for Shi Qian. Li Chuan doesn't understand why Fu Xiuhan is acting like he's possessed whenever he's around Shi Qian, even though he seemed to have a better relationship with Shi Yan before.

Upon hearing Fu Xiuhan's voice, Shi Yan stopped pretending to cry and composed herself. She raised her head with a wronged expression, her eyes filled with tears, looking at Fu Xiuhan with a pitiful expression, hoping to evoke his sympathy.

[Damn it, why did that idiot Fu Xiuhan show up at this time!]
