Guan Yi and Guan Mo are cousins who grew up together.
Guan Mo is his second uncle's son, two years older than him. He graduated last year and told his family that he would find a law firm in Beijing after graduation and work hard, but he turned around and started playing video games.
Guan Mo even had a falling out with his family because of this. His second uncle immediately stopped all of Guan Mo's credit cards and cut off his living expenses.
Guan Mo spends money extravagantly and has no habit of saving. Whenever he runs out of money, he comes to him for help. His second uncle told him not to lend money to Guan Mo, but Guan Yi still secretly gave him some.
When Guan Yi was a child, his second uncle was still developing his career in Beijing, so Guan Yi studied in Beijing with Guan Mo. From elementary school to university, the two attended the same school.
Uncle is very busy with work, so Guan Mo takes Guan Yi to school. Although Guan Mo loves to play, he takes good care of Guan Yi, and the two have always had a good relationship.
When Guan Mo graduated from university, she had already received an offer from a very famous law firm in Beijing, and Guan Yi always thought that Guan Mo was working at a law firm.
Six months later, a large sum of money was transferred from Guan Mo's bank card, which caught the attention of his second uncle. He asked Guan Yi to go to Guan Mo's place to see what was going on. Only then did Guan Yi learn that Guan Mo had not gone to a law firm after graduation, but had joined a gaming club.
The gaming club went bankrupt in less than six months; the owner absconded, and Guan Mo had to take over the business himself.
When his second uncle found out, he was furious and told Guan Mo to leave the club and find a proper job. Guan Mo refused, so his second uncle cut off Guan Mo's card and told him to fend for himself and reflect on his actions.
Guan Mo needed money at that time and came to him to borrow money. Although Guan Yi didn't understand why Guan Mo would give up his future for the sake of the game, he still secretly lent Guan Mo money.
For the first two or three months, Guan Mo transferred some money to him one after another, saying it was to pay him back. But not long after, he would borrow money from him again. He would borrow and pay it back, and then borrow again.
Guan Mo said that several bosses had their eyes on their gaming team and wanted to invest, but their demands were too high, so they didn't want to agree. Thus, the team was still managed by just a few people.
Guan Yi didn't understand, but he still supported her. There was nothing he could do; after all, she was his older brother.
On Friday night, after Guan Yi and his friends finished their meeting in the lab, Guan Yi took out a few tickets and asked Shi Qian and the others, "There's a competition this weekend, want to go check it out?"
"What competition?" Zhong Ran asked.
"It was a game competition, and my cousin gave me tickets to take my friends to see it."
"Sure, I'm free this weekend anyway, I'll go for a walk to relax. Lu Yibai, what about you?"
"I'm fine, I can go."
"Shi Qian, are you going or not?" Zhong Ran asked.
Shi Qian glanced at the ticket in Guan Yi's hand; it was for the competition he was going to help out at.
"I have something to do that day, so I probably can't make it."
Early Saturday morning, Shi Qian took a taxi to Guan Yi's club. Guan Yi had just woken up when he received Shi Qian's call and immediately rushed out.
"Master, you've arrived!"
"Please have a seat. Have you had breakfast?"
"have eaten."
"Why are you here so early? They trained late last night and haven't gotten up yet. I'll go wake them up now!"
"It's alright, I'll go to the training room and check on them. We'll practice together again after they get up."
"OK!"
Guan Yi was deeply moved that Shi Qian had come so early just to practice their teamwork. He then went upstairs, kicked open the doors of the other teammates' rooms, and woke them up.
"Wake up, everyone! The master is here! I'll cover your coffee today, get up and train!"
The group was still half asleep when they heard that Guan Yi's reinforcements had arrived. They didn't care that they had been woken up and immediately washed their faces and went downstairs.
Guan Yi ordered breakfast for them, and after they finished eating quickly, they went to the training room.
Shi Qian, wearing the equipment, had already started practicing on his own. He had never played a marksman before, but the operations were all similar, so he only needed to familiarize himself with it a little before going on the field.
Everyone watched as Shi Qian entered the five-star map, finding and defeating monsters with unerring accuracy, as if he had a god's-eye view. The monsters' weaknesses were transparent to him. In less than 10 minutes, Shi Qian found all the monsters hidden in the nooks and crannies, instantly eliminating them and clearing the level.
Qi Huai swallowed hard, nudged Guan Mo standing next to him, and asked, "Is this the outside help you invited?"
"Holy crap, Mo, I'd believe you if you told me he's the Summer god! That's incredible!"
After practicing his skills, Shi Qian quit the game, took off his headphones, and saw four people standing behind him. One of them had a bandage on his hand, which was probably the injured teammate Guan Mo had mentioned.
"How about we practice our teamwork first? I've never led a raid with so many people before."
Shi Qian had only teamed up with Guan Mo before, and had never played a proper four-person team match, so he was not very clear about the operation and game rules.
Upon hearing Shi Qian's invitation, the group immediately sat down in their respective seats, put on their devices, and entered the game. Guan Mo explained the game rules to Shi Qian while playing.
Multiple teams compete against each other, randomly entering the same arena map. The difficulty of the arena map is generally five stars. The team that kills the most monsters and gets the highest score wins.
Monsters cannot be killed by direct attacks; instead, you must attack their weaknesses to kill them. Different monsters have different weaknesses.
The points you get vary depending on the monster's level and location.
The higher the level, the more hidden the location, the harder it is to find the weakness, the greater the difficulty, and the higher the corresponding score.
Each team can fight each other and steal points on the field. If a player is killed, the points earned by the monsters they killed will automatically be transferred to the player who killed them. Even if the player is revived by a teammate's skill or by the system, the points cannot be returned.
If a team is wiped out, all the points that the team had before being wiped out will be given to the team that killed the last member of that team. The points cannot be returned after the team is revived.
Each team member has a total of three automatic resurrection opportunities. Once all three opportunities are used up, the team is eliminated.
Therefore, the most important thing in the game is not only to find the monsters on the map and get points, but also to ensure that you don't lose all your health when you fight with other teams and have your points stolen. If a team wants to win, it must ensure that at least one member is alive.
When the match ends, the system will calculate the points earned by each team, and the team with the highest score will win.
This afternoon's match was a battle for the top three spots. After the match, the top three teams with the highest scores will advance to Sunday's championship match.
Shi Qian roughly understood the rules of the game. It wasn't too difficult. As long as one person in the team was still alive, they would have a chance to advance to the next round.
As Shi Qian listened, he operated the controls simultaneously. His teammates gasped in astonishment at how quickly he found and killed monsters.
Holy crap, what kind of hand speed is that? They were still relentlessly attacking to find the monster's weak point, and Shi Qian hit it instantly, scoring a point directly.
It's a genius! Our Island Whale team is saved!
