Shi Yan finally managed to calm Fang Tianlong down. He then feigned pitifulness and gained even more sympathy.
Shi Qian returned to her dormitory, tidied up her things a bit, and then nimbly slipped out of the school gate.
He received a text message from the shop owner saying that things had been settled and that they had arranged to meet in a private room at a restaurant.
As usual, Shi Qian booked a room nearby, changed into an extravagant outfit, put on sunglasses, looked at her appearance in the mirror, and thought, "Okay, time to go out."
When Shi Qian arrived, the shop owner had been waiting for a long time. The moment Shi Qian entered, he immediately changed his demeanor.
"Oh my, Mr. Li, you're here so early?" Shi Qian swayed and sat down, his steps unsteady, looking like he was still hungover.
"Come on, order! Order whatever you want, this meal is on me!" Shi Qian pushed the menu in front of Boss Li, then slumped onto the sofa in the private room, yawning several times.
"Sorry, I stayed out too late at the bar yesterday and drank too much. I'm a little dizzy."
After all the dishes were served, Mr. Li reported to Shi Qian on the progress of the shop acquisition while eating.
“Brother, I’ve got everything ready for you,” Boss Li said, taking a large folder out of his briefcase and handing it to Shi Qian. “Everyone has signed it, it’s all here.”
"Hey, no rush, let's eat first." Shi Qian casually put the documents that Boss Li handed him aside, as if he had only bought these shops on a whim.
"Brother, what do you plan to do with this place?" Boss Li was happy that he had finally gotten rid of this hot potato, but he was also curious as to why Shi Qian had bought so much at once.
Shi Qian glanced at Boss Li's expression through his sunglasses. There was nothing unusual, so he figured there was nothing seriously wrong. The value of these shops would only increase a year later, and even if some information leaked from above, it would be more than half a year later. Right now, this place was still a worthless wasteland in the suburbs with shops.
"I don't plan to do anything with it. I'll just buy it if I like it. Anyway, I have plenty of money." Shi Qian made no attempt to hide his image as an uneducated, money-spending nouveau riche.
Shi Qian ate a couple of bites, pretended to have no appetite, drank two cups of tea, then picked up the folder lying to the side and casually flipped through it.
Yes, these are indeed documents for the separate sale of each shop, and they are all signed and stamped. They are just waiting for Shi Qian to sign them before they become effective.
After reading the document, Shi Qian tossed it aside and continued to lean back on the sofa, pretending to doze off.
“I have already told my neighbors, and they have started to make room and move their things in the past few days. It should be completely cleared out in about two weeks.”
"But if you're in a hurry, I can get them to hurry."
Most of the shop owners stopped coming long ago; it was pointless for them to stay open. When they heard that someone wanted to sell, their first reaction was surprise. They had all listed the shops for sale for years without anyone coming to buy. Now that someone had inquired, they were all eager to sell.
After the initial surprise, they learned that the entire area had been bought by the same person. At first, they suspected that the person had some connections or that there was some inside information. They hesitated, fearing that they would suffer losses if they sold the property, and then tried to raise the price.
Finally, Boss Li told them directly that the buyer was a nouveau riche from out of town. He looked very young, like a spoiled young master who only knew how to play. He guessed that his family had given him money, and he didn't know anything, so he just blindly tried to make a purchase. He just happened to have his eye on this worthless shop.
Upon hearing this, everyone stopped worrying. Anyone with even a little knowledge would never buy from them. They couldn't open a shop there, and they couldn't rent it out. There was absolutely no potential for appreciation. Only a fool would buy from them.
If a fool shows up, shouldn't they hurry up and seize the opportunity to make a move?
So everyone signed the papers readily, hoping to get some money back. Even when Mr. Li asked for a 2,000 yuan commission, no one bothered to haggle. After all, Mr. Li had helped them negotiate the price, raising the purchase price of the shops to 100,000 yuan, and they were more than grateful.
"Brother, everything's taken care of for you. When are you going to transfer the money?" Boss Li rubbed his hands together and asked expectantly.
"What's the rush? Do I look like someone who's short of money? Send me their card numbers..." He paused for a few seconds, then continued, "Forget it, it's too much trouble. Just send me your card numbers, and I'll transfer them all to you. You can decide how to distribute them later."
"Okay, okay!"
After confirming that there were no problems with the contract, Shi Qian promptly transferred the money. Boss Li smiled broadly as he looked at the large sum of money in his account.
After the two finished their meal, Shi Qian paid the bill and intended to part ways with Boss Li there. However, Boss Li, seeing that Shi Qian was still drunk and hadn't sobered up, insisted on taking him back to the hotel.
Shi Qian had no choice but to get into Boss Li's car.
When Mr. Li arrived at the hotel that Shi Qian had booked, he parked the car and then got out to help Shi Qian into the hotel. He even wanted to help her to her room, but Shi Qian refused, so he gave up.
Shi Qian packed the package all the way back to his room, closed the door, looked at the contract in his hand, and finally breathed a sigh of relief. The matter had been handled perfectly, and now he only needed to wait for the land to appreciate in value in a year.
Mr. Li had been standing quite close to him, and the two had spent so much time in the same private room. Shi Qian felt that he smelled of smoke, which he hated the smell of smoke. He immediately changed his clothes and prepared to take a shower.
I can finally get a good night's sleep tonight. When I wake up tomorrow, I can continue looking for a place to live. I hope I'll be luckier this time and find a place I like.
Zhang Ming had made plans to meet someone again today, intending to have dinner and then relax at the hotel. As he passed the hotel lobby downstairs, he saw a familiar figure. Zhang Ming told the person to find a seat first, and then quietly followed them.
As they got closer, Zhang Ming confirmed that the person from before was indeed Shi Qian. Dressed so flamboyantly, he was clearly up to no good. Why was he wearing sunglasses in broad daylight? He was acting suspiciously. There was definitely something fishy going on here!
If he could find something to use against Shi Qian here, preferably something serious, then he wouldn't be afraid of not being able to destroy this annoying crony.
Zhang Ming cautiously followed, and saw Shi Qian enter a private room, but unfortunately, due to the angle, he couldn't see who was inside.
So he canceled his evening activities and hid here to wait. He wanted to see who Shi Qian wanted to meet!
He hid at the end of the corridor, pretending to go to the toilet several times, until Shi Qian finally came out.
When Shi Qian came out, she was carrying something in her hand, and behind her was a slightly overweight middle-aged man who was supporting Shi Qian. The two seemed to be very close.
"This is enough to give me something to say about you!" Zhang Ming took out his phone and started snapping photos of Shi Qian.
