Just as everyone was about to disperse, Shi Qian's commotion and words pulled them back to their senses.
Shi Qian casually picked up a pen from the table, twirled it in his hand a few times, and said solemnly, "Why don't we call the police?"
Upon hearing the word "call the police," the entire room fell silent instantly.
Shi Yan paused for two seconds. He only wanted to use some rumors to get revenge on Shi Qian, not that he really wanted to cause trouble at the police station.
"No need, Shi Qian... It's not a big deal... I'll just rewrite it..." Shi Yan lowered his head, his voice filled with barely suppressed grievance.
"No need for anything, I stole your sheet music."
"What do you mean it's not a big deal? If it's not a big deal, why are so many people coming to attack me so early in the morning? I think it's not enough to just take it to the Yancheng Police Station; you'll have to take it all the way to the capital to solve your problem."
"Why rewrite it? Didn't you say I stole it? Call the police and let the professionals investigate and catch me red-handed."
"Besides, didn't you say the sheet music was complicated? You've been crying nonstop every day, but you can't even squeeze out a few tears. Are you sure you haven't just wasted all your energy?"
"Can you still write it? I'm just afraid you won't be able to write it, and then you'll come crying and accusing me of stealing your score."
Shi Qian glanced at Shi Yan with disdain, then looked at the group of people who had just spoken up for her as if they were disgusting, and said, "I didn't bring my phone with me, I left it in the dorm. Does anyone have it? Please call the police for me. I'll wait here, I won't run away."
When everyone heard Shi Qian speak so confidently, even mentioning calling the police, they began to have some doubts. Could it be that he really didn't take Shi Yan's sheet music?
"Shi Yan, could it be that Shi Qian didn't take it? Should we go back and look again?"
When Shi Yan heard that Shi Qian was determined to call the police, he felt something was wrong. When he saw someone stand up to speak for Shi Qian, he felt even more uneasy.
This time, Shi Yan was determined to frame Shi Qian because he knew Shi Qian couldn't produce any evidence that he hadn't stolen the sheet music. As long as Shi Qian made a fuss, Shi Yan would demand to see the surveillance footage.
There were no security cameras in the practice room where he usually practiced, and even the security camera outside the door could only capture the corner and not the whole thing, but it was enough to capture the scene of Shi Qian passing by.
Shi Yan's initial plan was that it would be useless for Shi Qian to deny it to the death. After Shi Qian made a scene, he asked to check the surveillance footage, which would definitely capture Shi Qian passing by. He had timed it all out last night.
Once the surveillance evidence is conclusive, I can then say I won't pursue the matter. This will not only tarnish Shi Qian's reputation but also demonstrate my magnanimity.
However, things didn't go as he expected. Shi Qian simply admitted that he took it and said he would call the police. But Shi Qian saying that calling the police and him calling the police are two different things.
He called the police because he was angry at his cousin's dishonesty and wanted to teach him a lesson. Calling the police showed his helplessness in dealing with this bad habit of petty theft and his good intentions in hoping that his cousin would correct his mistakes.
However, if Shi Qian were to call the police, it would be a different story. Shi Qian's frank admission would only make people doubt whether he had actually stolen it, and calling the police would be more like an act of proving his innocence.
Shi Yan absolutely could not let Shi Qian call the police. He was not sure if his framing method was flawless. If the police really came and found something, wouldn't that confirm that he had orchestrated the whole thing?
Seeing that someone actually took out their phone to call the police, Shi Yan quickly stopped them, saying anxiously, "No need, we're all relatives. If we make a scene like this, our elders will probably say we're being childish."
"Shi Qian, let's just let this matter go. Maybe I misread it, or maybe it really was left somewhere. I'll look for it again. It's all a misunderstanding."
"Look at you, you're taking this too seriously. I was just saying it to confirm, I didn't really suspect you, why did it escalate to the point of calling the police? It really doesn't have to be this serious."
With just a few words, Shi Qian turned the tide of the situation from a passive to an active one.
"What? Are you afraid that the investigation will find out I'm innocent? Tsk tsk tsk, what are we going to do, cousin? I'm a very serious person."
"Are you just questioning me out of suspicion? I thought you, the reincarnation of Bao Zheng, would have already made the final judgment and sentenced me."
"By the way, should we check the surveillance footage? Let's present all the evidence at once, otherwise you'll suspect me again and say I'm afraid to call the police because I'm afraid of getting arrested. I won't be able to explain myself then."
Shi Qian leaned back in his chair, twirling his pen as he smiled and stared at Shi Yan, making no attempt to hide the sarcastic tone in his voice, saying things that infuriated Shi Yan.
Shi Yan hesitated for a moment, and was about to say something when someone suddenly came in from outside the door and called out, "Shi Yan, Shi Qian, Teacher Chen wants you to go to the music room!"
Upon hearing this, Shi Qian raised an eyebrow and teased with a half-smile, "We have new audience members again. So, are we moving on now?"
Shi Yan didn't expect it to reach the teacher so quickly. He just wanted to obscure the facts among his classmates and sow seeds of doubt. How did it suddenly sprout up like crazy?
Seeing Shi Yan's conflicted and troubled expression, Shi Qian stood up and kicked the edge of his chair. "Let's go, my dear cousin, isn't the teacher looking for us?"
Shi Yan had no choice but to get up. He comforted himself, telling himself that everything would be alright, that Teacher Chen always stood by him, and that at worst he could just say it was a misunderstanding and brush it off.
Originally, only Shi Yan and Shi Qian were called, but the band members were worried about Shi Yan, so they all went along as well.
In their eyes, Shi Yan was a pitiful little white rabbit, while Shi Qian was a fierce big bad wolf. As the band's darling, Shi Yan couldn't be allowed to be bullied.
When the group arrived at the music room where Shi Yan often practiced, there were already people inside.
