Chapter 29: It's so uncomfortable. It's really a pity to take a day off. I'm back again...

It was so emotional to be back in this forest again, I thought I would never come back again.

The beast tide has not yet ended, and the forest is full of rampaging monsters. No matter how strong or weak they are, they will attack as soon as they see the other party. We carefully avoided those troubles, and as we were walking, Anka suddenly stopped.

“There are church signs here.”

He squatted down and wiped away the yellow mud on one of the trees, revealing a few scratches. They looked like they were made casually, but in fact they were very carefully made.

In the wild, maps cannot play a 100% role. Therefore, it is necessary to change the route according to the actual situation. Therefore, learning to recognize marks is an essential task for the glorious knights.

I am not familiar with this aspect, but fortunately, the two knights have received professional training and are able to decipher the meaning of these symbols and track them in a short time.

With them around, this matter became much easier. I only needed to accompany the dragon to kill, and the two knights were responsible for the rest.

After checking the meaning, Anka breathed a sigh of relief: "This symbol means safety. It seems that the Knight Commander and his men are going this way. Lord Saint, should we chase them?"

"Of course. After all, that's why we're here to get them back."

Andy nodded and walked in the direction indicated by the symbol. The monsters on this road seemed to have been cleared, and the surroundings were very quiet.

Soon, the next symbol appeared on the stone ahead. With continuous guidance, we slowly went deeper into the forest.

The surroundings gradually became noisier, and from time to time I could hear low roars. A few tactless monsters rushed over and were torn into pieces by the dragon. I glanced at it. Blood dripped from the dragon's fangs onto the ground, making it look a bit hideous.

"Be careful not to attract other monsters."

"I don't want to, but this place is haunted, and I feel like I can't control myself anymore."

It swung its tail irritably, stirring up dust all over the ground. I looked at it, feeling uneasy.

"Are you okay? If you really can't, then back out."

Long looked at me in shock, his tone a little suspicious: "Are you concerned about me?"

"You're a bit of a nuisance here."

"What do you mean by being in the way? Didn't you ask me to come, so I came?"

"Yes, yes - but you don't look like you can be of any help."

“Who said that!!”

The dragon was so angry that its wings were trembling and its roar was deafening.

"How can a mere sound do anything to me! Don't underestimate the dragon!"

It angrily yanked the nearest tree, and its sharp eyes wandered through the forest, capturing any suspicious movements. As if to prove it, it would rush over immediately if there was any sign of movement.

I smiled slightly, hiding my fame and fortune. As expected, dragons are creatures that cannot stand provocation. As long as you set a little trap, they will rush forward. Of course, this matter cannot be said to your face, otherwise you will be greeted by a storm.

With the powerful dragon and the knight who is good at searching, we have a smooth journey. The further we go, the greater the possibility of encountering high-level monsters.

Seeing that the marks were extending deeper, Long began to mutter and complain again: "How far did those guys run? Aren't they going to wipe out the source of the beast tide?"

There are many types of beast tides, such as the birth of a Warcraft Lord, the collapse of an element somewhere, or the use of magic by a pagan to cause this disaster.

It's not difficult to identify the cause. The flow of elements in this place is normal, and the dragon has no special perception after entering. The most likely possibility is the pagans - yes, it was the dark temple that caused the trouble.

Long also recognized this place: "Isn't this the way we came here?"

"yes."

If we want to find out the reason, we have to go to the place where the beast tide is the most serious. The knight commander obviously has the same idea as me. The forest ahead is getting thicker and thicker, making it difficult to walk. During the difficult journey, the smell of grass, trees and soil gradually mixed with something strange. The two knights looked serious, and the dragon frowned in disgust.

“How annoying.”

I rarely agreed with its idea. The ground became wet and rotten, and it felt like stepping on a pool of mud. The strong smell stimulated the nose until Anka lifted the layers of vines and stepped into the liquid.

This is simply a disaster.

I raised my eyes and looked into the distance. Tall trees were broken one after another and thrown on the ground like garbage. The ground was stained red with blood, and dark blood pooled in many places. Buzzing flies were enjoying this feast. The corpses of various animals were piled together to form a small hill.

These bodies seemed to have been dead for some time, emitting a strong stench of decay, which mixed with the rusty smell in the air and was very unpleasant.

The figure squatting on the pile of corpses had his back to us, and we didn't know what he was doing. Hearing the sound, he raised his eyes and stared at us. Blood dripped from his cheeks, and his eyes were full of madness.

This is Sean—this is not Sean. The wolf cub I know is about the same age as the cheap believer, while the other one is obviously an adult. But the clothes he wears are obviously the ones I specially selected for him before I set out. The hair on his ears is a mess of blood, and even the shape of the scar is very familiar.

The werewolf growled threateningly from its throat and charged towards me without hesitation.

Obviously, this was not to give me a hug after a long separation. The speed of an adult orc could almost be called terrifying, not to mention after going berserk. He came straight towards me, his enthusiasm full of poison.

I stopped the two knights from counterattacking, and calmly watched Sean rush in front of me in an instant. His sharp claws went straight for my throat. His nails slid through the air in a flashing arc. At this moment, only I and his sticky and turbid eyes met -

With a bang.

Sean flew in the opposite direction at a faster speed, and he seemed to have no idea what was happening. His body slammed heavily into the beast's body and bounced convulsively. The two knights looked at me in shock, and the dragon was so scared that its tail didn't move.

I ignored their shock and walked up to the little wolf - well, now it was a big wolf.

I stopped in front of him, bent down and picked up his collar. The werewolf's body trembled with fear, and his eyes reflected the falling golden hair, as bright as the sun.

I reached out and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. His confused eyes were fixed on me, full of fear and murderous intent.

The two thoughts collided with each other, but I ignored them all. I pinched his chin, forced him to open his mouth, and then inserted my dirty index finger to suppress the soft tongue.

The deadly fangs were within reach, ready to bite me down at any time. But as I watched, the wolf turned its ears back and didn't dare to move.

Wolves are animals with a very clear sense of hierarchy, and their rank is determined by strength. The werewolf seemed to be frightened and indecisive. Unfortunately, in this situation, hesitation is the loser.

I looked at him, my tone gentle.

"You got my hands dirty, you should be responsible for it."

Sean flinched, but didn't bite it. The wolf cub whimpered twice, and like a real wolf, he chose to surrender. He stretched out his tongue and licked my finger clean.

Rough, warm, and wet. He carefully cleaned up the mess he had made.

Only then did I let him go and said "sorry" with a smile.

The madness in Sean's eyes finally disappeared. He looked up at me blankly, and after a long while he opened his mouth and uttered a jerky sound.
