Chapter 52 The Foresightful Taoist Master Sanqing
As the night deepened, just as Mu Chunping and his group emerged from the mountains, Ningbao, who had been feigning sleep on Mu Chunping's back, suddenly raised her little head and whispered to the group,
"Everyone, wait a moment."
"Look over there," she pointed in the direction Lingling had told her.
Is someone there?
Mu Chunping and the others looked in the direction Ning Bao pointed, and although it was very dark, they could still see several figures moving toward their village camp.
"Everyone, put down what you're holding and let's go empty-handed."
Anyway, no one will notice if it's dark and left here.
"Ping-ge, you hold Ningbao and wait here. A fight is inevitable later, and I'm afraid it will frighten the child."
"Yes, Brother Ping, Ningbao is our lucky star, we can't let anything happen to her."
Little Lucky Star?
Little Lucky Star Ningbao immediately objected when she heard there was excitement and she wasn't allowed to go.
"Uncles, since I'm the lucky star, I should go with you."
After Ningbao finished speaking, she waved her little fist and acted coquettishly towards Mu Chunping.
"Daddy, you know I'm very capable. If bad guys break into the camp, Grandma, Mommy, and Grandpa will be very worried. Ningbao will go and protect them."
Mu Chunping looked at Ning Bao and pondered for a moment.
"Okay, let's go together then."
The group hid the supplies they had found in the mountains that day, and Ningbao secretly stored them all in her storage talisman when no one was looking.
This water is the lifeblood of their village now, and Ningbao can't leave it here.
Since they were going to fight, they couldn't go without weapons. Right now, Mu Chunping and the others were empty-handed and didn't have a single weapon. Ning Bao frowned, then pulled Mu Chunping and Shen Junshan aside, not forgetting to say something to Lin Jianfei and the others behind them before they left.
"Uncles, wait a moment, we're going to get something and we'll be right back."
Ningbao stopped and turned to look at Mu Chunping and Shen Junshan when they reached a place she felt safe.
"Father, Uncle, I have something to show you."
As Ningbao spoke, he waved his chubby little hand and chanted a spell, and a pile of ironware immediately appeared on the ground in front of them.
These items included kitchen knives, woodcutting knives, hoes, shovels, and even red-tasseled spears, large cleavers, and small daggers.
Ning Bao put the smaller dagger and sword away again.
"These things are in the storage talisman my master gave me. I took a look and they all come from the Sanqing Taoist Temple."
My master must have ransacked the Taoist temple. I don't know what he was planning to do, but he emptied the entire temple.
"We're going to fight tonight, and we can't do without weapons, so I thought I'd bring these out. It seems my master was very farsighted after all."
"Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!"
While Lao Fan and the Taoist priest Sanqing were camping in the wilderness, he suddenly sneezed three times in a row.
Old Fan, who had finally fallen asleep but was woken up by a sneeze, couldn't help but grumble at Master Sanqing.
"Look, look, you've caught a cold. I've never seen anyone so heartless to themselves. You emptied out the entire Taoist temple and gave it all to that little girl, not even leaving us a tattered blanket..."
...
Ningbao was squatting on the ground, rummaging through a pile of things she had taken out.
"Father, uncles, you can pick and choose what's useful and keep it; I'll put away what's not."
Shen Junshan and Mu Chunping were both shocked when Ning Bao suddenly produced and then put the item away. However, as they spent more time with Ning Bao, they gradually learned to remain calm.
Mu Chunping looked at Ning Bao seriously and said,
“Ningbao, these abilities must never be displayed in front of outsiders, given the treacherous nature of people.”
Ningbao nodded obediently.
"Yes, Father and Uncle are family."
Shen Junshan affectionately ruffled Ningbao's hair, without saying anything more.
"Chunping, let's choose the weapons first. We'll talk about Ningbao when we get back."
Shen Junshan picked up the red-tasseled spear from the ground, twirled it in his hand a couple of times, and a look of nostalgia appeared on his face.
"Ningbao, can I give this gun to my uncle?"
Ningbao frowned; her uncle seemed to recognize the gun.
“Okay, if Uncle likes it, then we’ll give it to him.”
Shen Junshan reluctantly touched the red-tasseled spear before handing it to Ning Bao.
"Ningbao, please keep this for your uncle. He can ask you for it later."
