"What do my two kids know? They only know how to play. It's already a great thing that they came along and didn't cause you any trouble. I don't believe they can find any eggs."
"Grandpa Cheng'an knows you're all good children. Yesterday, Ningbao and the others went into the mountains, and Ningbao found some eggs and gave us a few. You can't ask for any more this time."
Mu Cheng'an made a gesture as if to reach his hand into the basket.
“Village Chief, if you don’t take them, I’ll distribute them to everyone. My Ningbao said she has to give you the eggs, otherwise she’ll complain to me.”
