Finally, a layer of lime mortar can be applied to seal it to prevent smoke from leaking in the house during later use.
After the whole kang is completed, it is a three-meter-long, two-meter-wide, 70-centimeter-high, hollow flat brick platform, which occupies half of the area of the whole house. At least five adults can lie down and sleep on it.
