Chapter 426 Chinese Character Crash Course (Seeking votes and subscriptions)

After the coinage plan was determined, the next thing would be easy to handle. Anyway, there was no rush. There was no place that needed large-scale currency transactions at present. In the early stage, it would just circulate within the Han tribe. Now all we had to do was concentrate on studying the stamping equipment.

But this was not a matter of one or two days. There was still a lot of preparation work to be done. Luo Chong could use this time to arrange some other things.

He didn't have to worry about the window paper. In just five days after returning to Hanyang City, almost all the residents had replaced the window paper. The whole Hanyang City was filled with a joyful atmosphere. After another two days, the doors and windows of the two teaching buildings were also decorated, and they were finally ready for normal use.

The classroom was declared available for use. This was definitely a landmark day for the Han tribe, and it was also a day that the clan leaders of various ethnic groups hated. They finally experienced the fear of being dominated by classes and homework.

On the podium, Luo Chong wrote a whole blackboard of Chinese characters with chalk. On the far left were the surnames of the various ethnic groups in the Han tribe, as well as the remaining part of the Hundred Family Surnames written by Luo Chong.

In the middle, there are capital numbers, written from one to 100 million, and below are the names of various items and units, such as one, one, one head, one horse, and one car. The next row is the corresponding nouns, chicken, person, cow, horse, car, etc., so that they can learn the units corresponding to the names. This is the most basic skill that officials need to master.

Learning surnames is to remember people's names, so that they can count the population in the future and use it when doing a census. Learning nouns and units, as well as quantities, is to count the various incomes and expenditures of the Han tribe, as well as the production and storage quantities of various things. These are all things that the Ministry of Households will do in the future, counting money and grain taxes. However, officials in small counties must also understand these, otherwise how can they manage tens of thousands of people.

On the far right of the blackboard is the date, that is, the year, month, and day, the four seasons, and various measurement units, as well as the conversion between units, length units, area units, volume units, and weight units.

The purpose of learning this is, first, to master the seasons and time for farming and harvesting, second, to learn to measure the land area for the allocation of labor and farming resources, such as how many acres of land need a cow, how many acres of land need a few people for daily management, and third, to learn to calculate the amount of crop sowing, the amount of fertilizer, and the final harvest, as well as the amount of per capita grain consumption, etc.

After all, the Han tribe is still a tribe that relies on farming as its main means of survival. Everything must give way to farming. No matter what you do, you must first fill your stomach. Besides, if the people are hungry, it won’t be long before

they rebel. The output of grain is related to the stability of the country. This must be grasped, especially for officials of this era. It is not enough to just know how to write, but also to learn how to farm. If you can’t even farm, can you manage so many farmers digging for food in the fields?

"When writing, be more serious. At least the words you write should be understandable. Now you have the opportunity to practice writing. You should know how to cherish it. Do you know how difficult it is to make paper? The current output is enough for your four classes after pasting windows."

After explaining the knowledge points, Luo Chong began to let the students practice writing. Then he would patrol the classroom and remind those who had problems or wrong writing.

There were 320 students in this period, including the chiefs, hunting captains, gathering captains, witches and elders from Xincheng, and some smart people selected by the chiefs, a total of about 150. Most of the rest were from Hanyang City.

After the warrior selection last year, Luo Chong once opened a Chinese character learning class. At that time, nearly 200 people were selected from Hanyang City. Now some of them have been put to use, such as following the caravan or drawing words on porcelain in the pottery department of the cripple. The rest were summoned again by him.

320 people were divided into four classes, 80 people in each class, four classes in the morning and afternoon, Chinese in the morning and mathematics in the afternoon.

According to Luo Chong's plan, there are about 2,500 to 7,000 commonly used Chinese characters. Now it is mid-August. If we teach until December, it will be three and a half months, more than 100 days. If we learn 30 Chinese characters every day, we can learn 3,000 characters in this semester, which can basically achieve simple reading and writing. But this is not enough. After they study for two months, Luo Chong will increase their learning tasks and learn 50 characters every day, so that they can learn faster.

Some people may think that it is difficult to learn in this way, but Luo Chong does not think so. It depends on how to teach.

Learn characters from easy to difficult. At the beginning, we teach one, two, three, earth, stone, water, wood, king, sky, big, and people, which have few strokes and are similar. In addition, the students in this period are all adults, and their learning attitude is very conscious, at least better than primary school students. It is not impossible to learn 30 characters every day without Luo Chong's supervision.

After learning the basics, we can extend the teaching from these characters. One plus one vertical stroke equals ten. Adding another horizontal stroke equals dry, earth, and scholar. In this way, we have learned three more characters. Then, adding another horizontal stroke equals king. Adding half a frame equals 匡 (Kuang) in supporting justice.

Adding a dot equals jade and master.

Adding a mouth equals country. After learning these, we can start adding radicals. Adding the character 匡 (Kuang) to the

character 木 (Muddy Wood) equals door frame. Adding the character 竹 (Bamboo Ba ...

In the afternoon, we teach mathematics. Writing Arabic numerals is the easiest. There are only ten numbers in total. After two days of practice, everyone will know how to do it. Then it is addition and subtraction within ten, within one hundred, within one thousand, and so on. The next is multiplication and division.

Learn the multiplication formula. Once you have memorized the multiplication formula, you don’t need to calculate the multiplication and division within two digits at all. You can recite it out loud. Then it is three-digit and four-digit numbers. Basically, learning four-digit numbers is enough. Even if it is to calculate how much food a person needs and how much is needed in total, you should be able to do it. Of course, this is not the most important thing.

The important thing is to teach them to write vertical formulas. Once you have learned the calculation method, no matter how many digits there are, it will be the same. At most, you can just calculate slowly.

After learning all these, you can do some mixed operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and basically you will graduate in this period.
