Chapter 906: Thousands of bridge piers and more than 500 connected Zhaozhou Bridge!

Chapter 906 Thousands of bridge piers and more than 500 bridges connected together form the Zhaozhou Bridge!

While the people in Shanghe Village were learning to grow vegetables from the immigrants, a construction project unprecedented in the world was also underway in the Jiahai County Anqiao, hundreds of kilometers away from them.

Tens of thousands of people gathered on the coast at the north end of the Anqiao. Countless rammed earth simple houses were connected together, and the scale was no less than that of a county town of the Han tribe. On the sea, countless sailboats were connected in a line, covering the entire strait between the mainland and the Qiongzhou Island opposite.

On the shore on the mainland side, the mountains facing the sea were already bare, and all the trees had been cut down and turned into materials for building houses, as well as the temporary pier on the coast.

With a loud bang, thousands of kilograms of black gunpowder splashed the soil and rocks on the mountain, and a cloud of smoke rose up. When the smoke dissipated, thousands of prisoners holding shovels and pickaxes were driven up the mountain like quails by the soldiers. Then the sand and soil were poured into sacks, and then pushed down the mountain one by one with carts, and finally transported to the dock for loading.

Although they were numerous, although they had pickaxes that could easily break the armor, and although they had shovels that were sharp enough to easily chop off heads, no prisoner dared to resist.

Just kidding, anyone who has seen the magic of the Han tribe with the ability to split mountains and rocks would not have the heart to resist. Didn't you see that the huge rocks as big as houses on the mountain were blown into pieces?

Resist? Resist with your head?

Thousands of prisoners of war, like ants moving their houses, put the loose rocks and earth blown up by gunpowder into sacks, and then transported them to the ships docked at the pier. These sailboats carried countless sandbags to the top of the dark bridge.

The remaining thousands of slaves either carried sandbags down from the ship or soaked in the sea water to build sandbags. They were going to use these countless sandbags to build a sea-blocking gravity dam.

This kind of behavior, they would not dare to think of it before. Blow up the mountains on the shore and put them into bags to fill the sea?

Isn't this moving mountains and filling the sea?

Is this something that people can do? !

But these Han tribesmen who captured them were so crazy.

However, it is not quite standard to say that it is a sea-blocking dam. In fact, it is more like a well inserted into the sea.

The engineering command camp on the shore is almost catching up with the official office of a county town in the Han tribe. After all, it is to manage tens of thousands of people, and the necessary management agencies are indispensable.

Elder Zhuping Zhu was overwhelmed as he looked at the huge sand table in front of him. Although he was the governor of Jiahai County, the Han tribe did not let him govern in person. Instead, he was responsible for the cross-sea bridge project.

However, it was not until he understood the requirements and ideas of the Han tribe leader and waited for the construction bosses of the Han tribe to make actual models that he realized how amazing the project he was involved in was and how large its scale was.

A large number of construction bosses gathered in this project headquarters. In the end, everyone discussed the leader's requirements and design indicators, and then combined with the local actual situation to jointly make a plan, and sent a letter to Luo Chong via eagle to obtain project approval.

Zhuping still did not have the qualifications for administrative management in this project, and he was not responsible for the design of the main body of the bridge. He was mainly responsible for providing local hydrological and geographical conditions. After all, he was born in Qiongzhou Island since he was a child and studied architecture. He could provide a lot of help for the construction project of the bridge. However, Zhuping was still very satisfied with this. He felt that being able to participate in this project in person was worth it even if he died on the same day as long as he could see the day when the bridge was completed.

During the start-up phase of the cross-sea bridge, the local hydrological conditions were first collected to determine the high and low tide levels, as well as the length and width of the bridge and the geological conditions of the underwater bridge.

Xue Qingyao specially hired 100 young men from the Yu clan of Chaoyang County at a high price. Taking advantage of their diving skills, they went deep into the seabed to explore the situation. Combined with the information provided by Zhuping, they finally determined the environment for the construction of the bridge.

From the grassland continent, the length of the hidden bridge to Zhudao is more than 23 kilometers. If the bridge connecting the two sides of the land is added, the total length of the bridge is 25 kilometers.

Such a long bridge, and a dual-use bridge for highways and railways, is absolutely unprecedented in the world.

The structure of the cross-sea bridge adopts an elevated continuous arch bridge structure. According to the opinion given by Luo Chong, it is built according to the structure of the Zhaozhou Bridge. This is a relatively reasonable and durable structure with the current technological level and material level of the Han tribe.

The main geological structure of the hidden bridge under the water of the strait is reef rock. The top layer is covered with limestone formed by coral polyps and shells, but this is not important. The Han tribe uses the bottom layer of rock.

The single-arch bridge of Zhaozhou Bridge has no piers in the middle, and the main span is more than 37 meters, but this is not enough. Moreover, the cross-sea bridge that the Han tribe wants to build is more than 20 kilometers long, and one arch is definitely not enough, so Luo Chong's idea is a continuous arch bridge.

The specific construction method is to first anchor the position of the pier on the reef of the dark bridge, with a width of 50 meters as one span, that is, to set up a pier every 50 meters, first build a gravity dam with sandbags around the pier to block the seawater outside the sand wall, thus forming a waterless construction space.

Then drill vertical holes on the reef. There is no steam drilling equipment for the time being, so it can only be excavated manually with explosives and manual drilling. First, drill holes manually, then fill them with explosives and blast until a vertical shaft is drilled on the reef of the dark bridge, and then insert the reinforced concrete prefabricated pipes prepared on the shore in advance into it, and finally inject concrete into the pipe, which is equivalent to wedging a giant reinforced concrete nail into the reef, so that the bridge and the underwater reef are connected as one.

For nails like this, each rivet point needs to be made into a group of two, which is the width of the bridge.

The same anchor point, a group of every fifty meters, requires a total of 460, and this is only the underwater line. If the bridge piers on the shore are added, such as reinforced concrete piers of several tens of meters high, the entire bridge will need nearly 500, and then a large Zhaozhou Bridge will be built on top of each two groups of piers, which is equivalent to connecting 500 Zhaozhou Bridges to form a bridge

. In the middle part of the entire bridge, there are six super-long arch bridges with a span of 100 meters, which are mainly used for ships under the bridge. The reefs between these groups of piers will be blown up in the future to allow three-masted sailing ships to pass when the water level is low, so as to achieve the problem of reducing the height of the entire bridge.

In terms of the current progress of the project, the Han tribe has completed the preliminary geological exploration and the design plan of the bridge body. The entire bridge requires nearly a thousand reinforced concrete piers of several tens of meters high. The main bridge is 23 kilometers long, equivalent to the length of more than 20 Wuhan Yangtze River Bridges, and 35 meters wide, with a total of six lanes in both directions.

In the middle of the bridge are two wide-gauge heavy-duty railway tracks with a track gauge of 1.8 meters. The two railway tracks can ensure that they can travel in opposite directions at the same time, so as not to affect the traffic efficiency on the bridge. The design speed is 60 kilometers per hour.

On both sides of the railway track, there are two-way lanes with a width of five meters. The two sides add up to a four-lane route, which is mainly for carriages.

In other words, this dual-use bridge for road and railway is not designed in a double-layer design like the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, with a railway below and a highway above. Instead, all the road surfaces are on the same horizontal line, with trains running in the middle and carriages running on both sides.

This design is also the limit of what the Han tribe can do at present. In fact, for a bridge with an ultra-long span like this, according to modern bridge technology, most of them will adopt the solution of steel cable-stayed bridge, but the Han tribe cannot produce qualified alloy steel wire at present, nor does it have the construction capacity to hoist hundreds or thousands of tons of steel cables and bridge decks.

As for using iron chains to pull a suspension bridge for heavy-duty trains?

Then you should go to bed as soon as possible, as dreams can have anything.
