Chapter Ten: School Ghost Stories 10
Lu Cen's legs were weak when she walked out of the office.
After finishing the second exam, he had plenty of time at noon, so he strolled around the school. The high school was not large, but it was full of greenery, though the facilities were old and had been there for many years.
Due to the drastic changes at the school, only a few students were seen passing by.
What struck Lu Cen as odd was that the person in front of him was pacing back and forth around the gray wall, stopping every now and then to think.
"What are you doing?"
The student in front of him was startled, turned around, and saw Lu Cen. He breathed a sigh of relief: "Don't you make any noise when you walk?"
"You're too focused," Lu Cen asked. "What are you doing?"
The student in front of him didn't hide anything from him: "I wanted to see if I could get out."
When Lu Cen heard this, he thought of the group of people who wanted to get out yesterday. He was quite puzzled. Why not just climb out?
But when he reached the wall, an unseen force prevented him from getting any closer.
Lu Cen was taken aback: "What is this?"
"Let's harness the power of Xiangming."
"You know Xiang Ming too?"
"Who doesn't know his name?" the student in front said. "Xiang Ming was the top student in the whole school. He often hung out with a few friends, sticking to them like glue. Then, for some reason, he jumped from the sixth floor and died on the spot, his brains splattered out."
"Jump off a building." Lu Cen shuddered; that would hurt too much.
The person in front pointed to the building next door: "That's over there. Strange things started happening at the school after that. People kept disappearing, and you could only enter the school but not leave."
According to him, everyone in this school will die out sooner or later, no wonder everyone is so afraid.
"But some people say that Xiang Ming didn't jump down on his own, but was pushed down. Various versions are circulating everywhere, and no one can tell the truth from the falsehood."
Lu Cen asked, "What about those people who were close to him?"
“They were all dead long ago. One day, they lined up and jumped down from where Xiang Ming jumped, one after another, like dumplings being dropped into a pot.”
Sunlight bathed everything, yet Lu Cen felt a chill run down his spine. He glanced at the building next to him bearing the name Chongde Building and felt a cold shiver run through him.
After finishing the exams for the day, Lu Cen finally breathed a sigh of relief. Following the sparse flow of people, Lu Cen and Su Yi'an squeezed into the cafeteria and got two meals.
Lu Cen put a mouthful of rice into his mouth, the aroma of rice soothing his long-standing tension. After finishing the last bit of food in his bowl, Lu Cen took out a tissue to wipe his mouth and looked up to see Su Yi'an looking at him.
"What's wrong?"
Su Yi'an: "You and Xie Lin..."
