Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Bloody Wedding (9)

Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Bloody Wedding (9)

The men looked at each other in bewilderment. How could someone who had lost his wife the day before remarrying the next?

That's incredibly fast.

It was absurd yet unusual, even suffocating.

The three were silent for a while, then Lu Cen asked, "Did you find anything at Master Su's courtyard yesterday?"

The monkey looked gloomy: "There are too many people outside. We can only circle around the perimeter. If we get too close, we will be discovered. All we know is that there are many women locked up inside. There are a lot of them. They are given three meals a day. They have no freedom. They are probably under house arrest inside."

Chen Ning: "Here's what we'll do. Monkey, you keep an eye on that courtyard. I'll go to town again. Lu Cen, go back to the Su residence and see if you can get any more information. Also, go and see the wedding tomorrow."

The three parted ways and had dinner. Lu Cen, having exhausted himself during the day, fell asleep on the couch as soon as night fell.

He wasn't covered by a blanket, and the wind seeped into his clothes, making him shiver. He wanted to go back to bed, but found himself in an unfamiliar room. What horrified him most was that he was sitting in a chair with his legs spread apart and tied to the two chair legs, his hands tied behind his back to the chair, and a white cloth stuffed in his mouth, almost choking him to death.

This unexpected turn of events caught Lu Cen off guard, and she frantically tried to break free from her restraints.

"—Creak." A large hand pushed open the door.

The newcomer appeared in front of Lu Cen without any hesitation. He reached out and removed the gag from Lu Cen's mouth. Lu Cen was stunned for a long time, never expecting that the newcomer would be Su Lie.

He looked very different from when Lu Cen first met him. His stubble had grown longer, his face was haggard, and his eyes were bloodshot, as if he hadn't slept all night.

He stared at Lu Cen silently, his eyes dim. As he thought of something, his gaze gradually turned fierce. Suddenly, he grabbed Lu Cen's chin, forcing him to tilt his head back. His fingers dug into Lu Cen's flesh, exposing his vulnerable neck to Su Lie's eyes. For someone who practices martial arts, this was undoubtedly a very dangerous move.

Lu Cen was oblivious to everything. The main thing was, whenever he moved, he felt as if his jaw would be dislocated. He slightly opened his mouth, his voice barely audible: "It hurts..."

Su Lie paused for a moment. Although he didn't let go, he loosened his grip slightly. He said solemnly, "I only have one question for you."

Lu Cen had no choice but to nod.

Su Lie closed his eyes in pain, then suddenly opened them and stared at Lu Cen: "Five years ago, why did you leave without saying goodbye?"

Lu Cen: "?"

Five years ago?

He wasn't here five years ago.

"Are you sure you haven't mistaken me for someone else?" This was the only possibility Lu Cen could think of, so she honestly replied, "I don't even know you, so how could you have left without saying goodbye?"

"I admit my mistake?" Su Lie murmured, his hand slipping under Lu Cen's neck, his fingers pressing against a patch of skin. There was a scar on Lu Cen's lower back, about an inch long, that looked exactly like a centipede. "You say I admit my mistake, then how come you have a scar exactly like his?"

Lu Cen has only two scars on his body. One is the spot where Su Lie touched him. Back then, when he suddenly learned that his condition had worsened, he was overwhelmed with emotions and fainted. There was a sharp protrusion there that scratched him. The other is his chest. He had a minor surgery before his heart transplant.

Lu Cen was truly stunned. He asked blankly, "Did we meet five years ago?"

Su Lie looked at him suspiciously: "You don't remember, or is this part of your scheme?"

Lu Cen was speechless at those words; what schemes could he possibly have?

Su Lie said, "Five years ago, we not only met, but also lived together for a period of time. We did things that we should and shouldn't have done."

Lu Cen's pupils contracted. If what Su Lie said was true, then was this person the original owner's experience? Or... was it himself?

This matter is very confusing and I can't figure it out no matter how I think about it. It can only be the original owner's experience. If it was him, why doesn't he have the memory?

But if it were the original owner, would the original owner also have the same scars as him?

As he pondered this matter, Su Lie's voice rang out incessantly.

"You would crawl into my bed on a thundery night and say you're scared to sleep alone and want me to keep you company."

“He goes to a far place every day to collect honey for me, just so I can have something sweet. As a result, he gets stung all over his head and almost gets disfigured.”

"She would also boil water for me to soak my feet every night."

"She even begged me at night, asking me to be more affectionate and to go faster."

Lu Cen: "..."

He remained skeptical of these statements, believing that the original owner of the body could never have done such a shameful thing, and that it was either fabricated by the other party or something else entirely.

Su Lie asked coldly, "Do you and Su Lie have that kind of relationship?"

"..." Lu Cen's alarm bells rang loudly: "No!"

Why did he come out of your room that day?

"He's sick; he's pretending to be a ghost to scare me."

Su Lie didn't know whether he believed her or not, but he still let Lu Cen go.

Lu Cen tried to reason with him: "Could you let me go first? I'm very uncomfortable like this."

Su Lie ignored him, as if he hadn't heard anything. Suddenly, Su Lie's cold lips pressed down on Lu Cen.

Lu Cen's eyes widened, his heart pounding. He struggled instinctively, forgetting his current posture, and moved a little too violently, scraping his wrist raw on the thick rope.

Su Lie's lips carried a cold, unyielding aura. Lu Cen's icy lips were warmed by his licking, like hot oil seeping into water, causing them to suddenly churn.

The heat made Lu Cen's eyelashes wet and his cheeks flushed. After what seemed like an eternity, Su Lie finally released him, and Lu Cen's expression remained blank.

"Can't we talk this out properly?"

Su Lie was provoked into a frenzy by these words, his veins bulging, but his anger only made him calmer: "What's wrong? Now I can't even kiss you?"

Lu Cen had very little experience in calming men down, and said dryly, "What I meant was that there might be a misunderstanding."
