Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Seeing that A'mo didn't say anything, An Zhi quickly corrected him.

"This is what my brother just gave me."

The cub shrank back a bit guiltily. When they first met, she had only one lozenge in her hand. It was pear-flavored. The nurse had given her a handful, and An Zhi had been eating them while walking around the hospital. By the time she met A-Mo, she had only one left.

Ah Mo grabbed another noun: "Brother?"

An Zhi nodded, shaking his short legs happily: "My brother bought them all."

But she quickly fell silent again. She could no longer see Gu Jinyan.

An Zhi felt a little uncomfortable. She lowered her head, not wanting to let this feeling overflow.

The palace is also good, but Gu Jinyan is no longer her real brother.

The strawberry-filled marshmallows were delicious. Gu Jinyan had just tidied up her clothes, and at that time he tied the small bag to the inside of her cloak.

She didn't even know when Gu Jinyan brought it down.

An Zhi pushed the candy out a little more and folded the small pink cloth bag neatly.

This is a very cute cloth bag. It is filled with stuffing, feels soft, and has small floral patterns on the lining.

The cloth bag was not big, and after folding it, she could just hold it with one hand.

"You can call me brother too."

Ah Mo suddenly put his face in front of her, like some large animal.

"Hey." An Zhi opened his mouth.

A'Mo nodded, feeling that he was a genius.

If the little cub doesn't call him brother, should he call him uncle?!

He's not that old.

A'Mo was still coaxing An Zhi to call him brother, and didn't notice that the car had stopped.

“Knock knock.”

It was Aiden who knocked on the glass next to them.

Americus: "Oh no, let's get out of the car.

Do you want me to hug you?"

An Zhi shook her head, unbuckled her seat belt, jumped out of the seat, and turned around in place to show that she could do it herself.

A'mo clapped enthusiastically and even whistled.

Aiden Eslan finally couldn't bear it anymore and knocked on the car window again, this time with much stronger force.

"Americus. How old are you?"

An Zhi heard it and went to see A'mo out of curiosity.

Ah Mo answered immediately: "Thirty, uh, around thirty or so..."

Aiden: "You celebrated your fortieth birthday two years ago."

An Zhi widened his eyes. A'mo looked to be about twenty years old.

"You can call him uncle," Aiden opened the car door and saw Ah Mo's angry expression. The corners of his lips rose slightly: "Or you can just call him Ah Mo."

A'Mo made a protesting sound. He really wanted someone to call him brother!

Aiden seemed to see the hesitation on An Zhi's face and said, "That doesn't seem very polite."

He scoffed, "You two are just kids."

After saying that, he drove both of them out of the car.

An Zhi quickly grabbed A'mo's hand.

A'mo muttered something in a low voice, but An Zhi didn't hear clearly and looked up at him.

Therefore, An Zhi did not notice that Aiden's eyes fell on their clasped hands.

Before An Zhi turned his head back, Aiden withdrew his gaze.

He turned around and handed the cloak to a middle-aged silver-haired man waiting at the door.

"Padreed will arrange where you'll stay for the night. He's the palace's steward, and you can ask him for help with anything. Amer, come with me."

A'mo took Anzhi's hand and handed her to Padre.

Padre is the old butler of the palace, and he raised A'mo when he was a child.

Padre smiled gently at An Zhi.

On this day, An Zhi's hand was transferred from one person to another.

An Zhi stood there, watching Aiden Eslan's figure merge into the shadow of the spiral staircase, with A'mo following closely behind.

An Zhi watched Aiden's back disappear into the magnificent spiral corridor.

She finally couldn't help but ask: "What about you?"

After saying this, An Zhi realized that something was wrong.

She seemed to have no right to ask this theoretical relative if there was anything she could go to him for help.

Especially when the other party is the emperor of an empire.

She was just an adopted orphan, and even though she was now recognized as being of Etheran blood, she was not his real child after all.

Aiden stood on the stairs, half-lidded his eyes, looking down.

He often stood on a high vantage point to watch people, and had seen too many faces that looked at him with expectant expressions.

"Kill me...Kill me, Aiden."

.......

"You must swear to sever this sinful bloodline."

.......

"Please, for the sake of..."

.......

"You don't deserve this name! How could you attack your fellow countrymen!"

.......

"Madman! Madman Etherland! Your whole family is crazy!"

.......

"Will you kill me, brother?"

........

He heard A'mo gasp beside him.

Aiden suddenly came back to his senses, let go of his hand, and drove out the countless chaotic sounds and images from his mind.

Americus tugged at his robe with a lingering fear. Aiden's psychic blade had barely missed his shoulder. Now, the blade had left a deep scratch on the wall behind him.

Fortunately, he didn't move.

Although he didn't know what happened, for A'mer, believing that Aiden could handle everything was the only rule he had to follow.

Aiden stopped looking at the cub's face at the bottom of the stairs.

He couldn't promise her.

He couldn't share the blood and curses of the past, the unknown sins and madness, with a child. All he could do was bring her back here, give her the identity of Etherland, and then...

An Zhi watched Aiden walk up the stairs and held Padred tightly with some uneasiness.

There were actually many things she didn't understand. About Amer, about Aiden, about the Etherland family, and about herself.

"Your Highness."

Padre turned sideways and took her deeper into the palace.

**

After passing through countless corridors and across large hanging platforms and empty courts, they finally stopped.

An Zhi tried hard to measure the huge Etherland Palace with his feet.

Padre led her to a huge door.

It was a large, beautiful door, its panels made of some dark brown wood, painted with a layer of gold lacquer, with subtle dark patterns embedded in it. On either side of the door were two tall bone pillars, each carved with patterns.

The corridor was lit with dim candlelight, which looked very gentle.

Padre opened the door for her.

He also held a European-style candle lamp in his hand.

Padre stretched his hand forward a little so that An Zhi could see the scene in the room clearly.

The floor was covered with a dark red carpet, and in the center sat a large, square-posted bed with a gauze curtain. Beside the bed sat a nightstand, and on the floor lay a long, soft rug. A scented flower lamp sat on a stool at the foot of the bed. There were also many delicate little ornaments, evidently a great deal of thought went into the decor.
