Chapter 15: Really Fragrance

Work at sunrise and rest at sunset.

Sun Ye was so tired that he fell asleep every day and forgot to check the situation in his private plot.

The children's work was finally completed today, and the adults were finishing the rest. Sun Ye left work early and went home.

"Little sister, I'm going to play in the woods with big brother today..." Needless to say, Sun Lin was just craving for meat.

"Okay, I won't tell Mom that you took the corn, but don't take too much. Be careful if Mom finds out, don't blame me then." Sun Ye waved his hand and let them go, but there was a high chance that he would not catch the two boys.

Seeing the two people disappear quickly, Sun Ye rubbed his shoulders, twisted his waist, and found a stool to sit down and rest.

Finally, the work is done! Sun Ye sighed sincerely, it is still comfortable to go to school.

She supported her head with her hands, leaning back, her eyes slightly closed, her long and narrow eyelashes trembling slightly, she had a delicate nose, rosy and shiny lips, a small double chin, and a round face.

From a distance, what a lucky doll it is, as delicate and cute as the fairy boy under Laojun's seat. No wonder those aunts and grandmas love Sun Ye's little face so much.

A gentle breeze blew, gently waking up Sun Ye, who was half asleep. She looked up at the sky and it was almost time to wash the vegetables.

Sun Ye can only do these simple chores. Her mother doesn't let Sun Ye light a fire and cook at home alone, for fear that she might get burned. Although Sun Ye has repeatedly emphasized that she will be careful, her mother still insists on her own opinion.

Sun Ye carried a basket and walked towards his private plot. The vegetables in his own plot were no different from those in other people's plots. They were tender green and looked delicious.

Green is Sun Ye’s favorite color, no doubt about it!

Sun Ye bent down and grabbed a cabbage, but as soon as he touched the cabbage, a childish voice immediately rang in his mind:

"The cabbages are green in the fields. They'll be ready to eat in two or three days..."

"I'm so miserable. I have to leave my dear mother before I'm fully grown. I can't bear to leave you..."

"Be gentle! I can't stand the pain. Don't hurt my feet! It won't taste good if they hurt..."

Sun Ye paused. How could she not know that this vegetable was so dramatic? She reached out and flicked the cabbage leaves. The voice reappeared in her mind:

"It's indecent! Someone molested me and touched my mouth. It's so disgusting~"

"I like you so much. If you touch me again, I will molest you."

Sun Ye couldn't stand it anymore. His hand trembled and he tore off a piece of vegetable leaf. He just stared at the leaf. Is this a mouth?

Why did she feel that this cabbage was too active? She decided to give up this cabbage and choose another one.

No! Isn't the cabbage's voice something she can only hear if she wants to? What's going on?

Sun Ye continued to touch the cabbage and took the initiative to communicate with it: "What happened to you?"

Bai Cai still spoke in the same childish voice, but answered in a serious tone, no longer coquettish and charming, and with such personality.

"Ten days ago, this land suddenly became rich in nutrients. All the vegetables have changed in different ways. We worked hard to accumulate them, and now they are like this."

"We are different from those slutty women out there. Although we can't cure all diseases, we can strengthen the body, nourish the skin, and make up for the losses."

Ten days ago? Wasn't this the day she accidentally discovered the Fountain of Life?

Speaking of which, the effectiveness of the Fountain of Life is still greatly reduced, but it is just right at this time. The family has just put in a lot of effort and has suffered heavy losses, so it needs to be replenished.

The voice continued, "However, this effect won't be immediate. It will develop gradually and take time."

It's so thoughtful. She is also afraid that her parents will have rosy complexions and healthy bodies after using it. It's not that this is bad, but it's too challenging. It's very different from the villagers. Those experts are still here, and it's hard to tell what they can do.

In that case, don't blame her for pulling hands and destroying the vegetables. One, two, three, four, the more the better.

After washing the bok choy, Grandma Sun didn't allow me to touch the knife, so I had to put it in a basket to drain.

Seeing that there was nothing to do, Sun Ye returned to his room, took out a book and read it slowly.

Sun's mother and father came back together, their clothes and pants were covered in mud. Sun's mother brushed them off casually and went straight into the kitchen to cook dinner.

Dad Sun picked up a bamboo broom and swept the front and back of the house. In short, he had to keep his hands busy.

"Ye Zi, have you seen Sen Zi and Lin Zi?" Sun's father asked every day.

Sun Ye's door was open, and one could see Sun Ye sitting there at a glance.

"They're out having fun."

Sun Ye said this calmly, without a trace of lying, and added, "It seems like he said he was going to the woods."

Dad Sun didn't bother to care. As long as they didn't go to the river, he let them play. They knew to come back when it got dark and they were hungry.

"Where is my sieve? Have you seen the leaves?" Mother Sun searched the kitchen where she usually kept the sieve but couldn't find it. Besides, where could such a big sieve be hidden?

"Mom, what are you looking for a sieve for?"

"Sifting beans. These beans have rocks and dirt in them. They are inedible. You have to sift them out."

Sun Ye hesitated for a moment, then said, "I think I saw my brother and the others take the sieve away."

"These two brats, I'll give them a spanking when they come back."

"I still want to make some mung bean soup. Well, forget it. I'll drink it tomorrow."

Sun Ye knew that his mother was just saying this and would not really hit Sun Sen or Sun Lin, so he pointed at the cabbage and said, "Mom, stir-fry some cabbage. I've washed it. I'll go light the fire."

Mother Sun watched Sun Ye light the fire and felt relieved. It must be that her daughter cared about herself. Those old men would never go into the kitchen, but when they smelled the meat, they pounced on it like cats seeing fishy food.

"Ye Zi, go out and play. Mom will be here."

"It's okay, it's warmer here."

Sun Ye was lying with his eyes wide open. Warm? No, it was very hot. It was already May, and the weather was getting hot. You could make yourself sweat just by lighting a fire.

The cabbage smelled delicious when it was fried. Sun Ye swallowed her saliva gently. She was not that greedy, but her saliva unconsciously welled up when she smelled the smell.

"It's strange, why does this dish smell so good when it's fried? Has my cooking skill improved?" Mother Sun seemed to be talking to herself or asking Sun Ye.

Sun Ye was silent and didn't say anything. She concentrated on burning her fire. She heard nothing and smelled nothing.

"Come here, try Ye and see if it tastes good." Mother Sun grabbed a piece of cabbage and stuffed it into Sun Ye's mouth.

Sun Ye chewed slowly, chewing a piece of cabbage about ten times, leaving a lingering fragrance in his mouth. It was extremely delicious.

To maintain his composure, Sun Ye said calmly, "It's delicious."

In fact, she was so excited that she said: She swore that this was the most delicious cabbage she had ever eaten, and she praised it with a lot of flattery.

She couldn't help but glance at the pot, her mouth opening and closing restlessly, just short of saying the four words "I still want to eat." It was over. Was she going to be defeated by this little cabbage after all her life's wisdom?

"Really? It smells pretty good." Mother Sun reached out and pulled out another piece of cabbage.

Sun Ye stared at the piece of cabbage with eager eyes, then watched it fall into Sun Ma's mouth and lowered her head. She thought the piece of cabbage was for her.

"Hmm, it's really delicious." Sun's mother nodded as she ate. "It's cooked just right. I'm an expert in cooking."

It's over. Do people assimilate? Why does it feel like my mom has learned to be as narcissistic as my dad?

"What are you cooking? It smells so good."

Think of Cao Cao and Cao Cao will appear!

Dad Sun went into the kitchen. Three people were squeezed into the small kitchen, which looked very uncomfortable.

"Okay, it's cabbage." Sun's mother was proud.

"Cabbage." Father Sun was clearly a little unconvinced. He glanced around and saw that there were no other vegetables. He sniffed and walked out of the kitchen, muttering, "The educated youth must have cooked something delicious again. The smell has already wafted over."

Sun Ye and his mother smiled at each other, and everything was said without words.

The dishes tonight are a plate of stir-fried cabbage, a bowl of horsetail, and rice. I specially made dry corn rice to celebrate the end of the busy farming season.

When it comes to corn rice, Sun Ye refuses to eat it. It's delicious, but it makes your chopsticks sticky. You have to lick your chopsticks clean before you pick up food. Some people like to lick their chopsticks several times before picking up food, but Sun Ye can't stand that. She'd rather not eat it than feel sick.

Just as the table was set, Sun Sen and Sun Lin returned. Sun Ye took a special look. Well, she guessed right. They had indeed returned empty-handed. Even the corn they had brought to attract birds was gone. Isn't this what they call: "You can't catch a bird, but you'll lose the rice."

Sun's mom and dad didn't say much, and the family started eating!

Sun Ye quickly and accurately scooped a large chopstick of cabbage into the bowl, and took away one-fifth of it with one chopstick, which was equivalent to picking out his own share.

"Ye Zi, you like to eat cabbage, there are plenty in our fields, no need to fight for it."

Dad Sun spoke slowly. He picked up some cabbage first. He had eaten enough cabbage, all year round, so it didn't matter if he had a little more.

No, Dad, you won’t say that after you eat it. Sun Ye looked up at his father, then buried his head in tasting it. It was absolutely delicious.

After Sun Sen and Sun Lin picked the cabbages one after another, the two brothers also fell in love with the deliciousness of the cabbages, and they picked up the chopsticks very quickly.

"Is it really that delicious?" Dad Sun saw that everyone in the family except him was eating the cabbage happily.

He tried to pick up a piece and put it in his mouth without saying anything. When asked, he told me that it was really delicious and went to grab the cabbage.

Sun Ye took a quick look at the situation on the table in his busy schedule. Sun's father realized later that he had gained the least, followed by Sun's mother, Sun Sen had the most, and Sun Lin had not a small amount.

Dad Sun sighed, picked up the plate, and ate the rice with the vegetable juice in the plate.

There was no need to act so pitifully. Sun Sen and Sun Lin couldn't bear it, so they gave a little of the little food in the bowl to Sun's father.

Sun Ye knew what her father was thinking the moment he sighed, but she didn't expose him, nor did she offer to share the money with him.

Look, when Sun Dad's eyes came over, Sun Ye looked back at him innocently, as if to say: Why are you looking at me? Is there something wrong?

Facing his daughter's clear big eyes, Dad Sun couldn't help but smile, what a clever little girl!

Mother Sun looked around, tapped Father Sun's bowl, raised her eyebrows, and said, "You should restrain yourself."

Dad Sun coughed dryly and lowered his head to eat.

The two brothers had no idea that they were being fooled. They just focused on protecting the food in their bowls and ate quickly.
